Agreed. It does seem to lack the visual polish Gungeon has, despite not riding the retro-pixelated look. “Janky” is how I’d describe the aesthetic. Though, it looks like there could be a nugget of greatness in there.

Honestly I don’t think the artist should be criticized so harshly, personally I love the line quality of the sprites it reminds me a lot of something you’d see in MAD magazine
I think the bigger issue is the presentation. It feels mildly tacky, somewhat cheap, with lots of blatantly tweened sprites rather than more traditional animation. Would give the game a big boost if it had some more visual flair to it rather than the somewhat boring solid colors and backgrounds that don't feel weighty or really like they do anything to stand out too well.

It's got the look of a newgrounds title made in flash which is always charming, could probably do with looking at other games in the same style, like Castle Crashers, Alien Hominid, Binding of Isaac(the original but also the Beast Boss in the current), etc. they all have a look and a feel that makes them stand on their own and while this definitely does it really does just need the extra polish here and there.

I would be first but you didn't make an announcement on your discord fast enough so that's your fault, so technically I'm first
@@Paul_Powerful yes that's the joke
I'm sorry but I have to give this one to Mr.Diamond... he's first in my heart
@@Paul_Powerful idk i found it funny lol like its so silly it cant not be fake right (plus idk its probably more polite to assume that this is a joke rather than assume that they are actually just that arrogant lol)
dont call some filth some one slapped together enter the gungeon. they did all the different angels for movement . go look at the sprites on the spriters resource that has a number ripped. look at gameplay. this is soul knight filth. this is please give me money so i dont die in the gutter i played with unity please pay my bills filth
There's this mobile game that is also inspired by gungeon (It's called Soul Knight). It is MILES better than this lol. Maybe try playing it?
You're not the first person to mention Soul Knight, people seem to really like that game. I'll look into it, I trust that it'll be good
@@ThatHomieDemon It's very in-depth with different functioning classes and combination of perks. The game keeps getting bigger and bigger. Best of all, It's free!
I dropped some money into this game (by buying certain characters, abilities and cosmetics) cause I honestly think developers of this game deserves it. Hope you enjoy!
I still prefer the "old" one.
Gungeon really is an unbeatable classic
I beg you, please check out the Hollow Knight speedrun community.
I've heard only good things about it and honestly I might make a video in the future about it.
I don’t know about Xbox 360 more like a mobile game.
I was about to say something rude but I saw your skills and I shut up.
Great content. Sometimes I'm scared in TH-cam algorithm. I was searching something like ETG for hours in google and yt yesterday then this vid recommend to me today. bruh.
I try to be as original and genuine as possible with my vids, even if I tend to embellish my titles a bit. My worst fear is ending up like one of those soulless channels that lie and cheat for views. I'm glad you enjoyed the content, that means I must be doing somethin right
No hate but I can feel you reading off the script in this video
Lol yeah I'm trying to get better at being natural with my videos. One of my other videos had a lot of people saying I needed to be MORE scripted, so I'm trying to find that nice middle ground.
This game is basically a Newgrounds flash game but boring
