Q. Why isn’t ‘Off to the Vet’ available in full on TH-cam?
A. ‘Off to the Vet’ film production and crowdfunding campaign was a huge undertaking for the Simon’s Cat Team. Our hope is to produce more long form, full colour content for our fans but without having to turn to them through crowdfunding again. The film was completed in 2015 and submitted it to a selection of international film festivals over the following months. During this time it was exclusively available to all funders that contributed via our private production blog. The feedback we have received from our funders has been overwhelming positive and we hope they are extremely proud of making the film a possibility. Q. What software do you use?
A. Simon's Cat is made using Adobe Flash / TV Paint animation software.
Q. Why does it take so long to make each Simon's Cat film?
A. Even though the films are made on computer software, they are still hand-animated in a traditional manner, frame to frame. It usually takes between 12 and 25 drawings to create 1 second of a Simon's Cat film.

My cat sounds so much like Simon's cat. He makes the same sort of sounds. Just a very similar "voice.". He'll also tap me on the shoulder with his paw to wake me up so I'll get his breakfast! He even looks something like Simon's cat -- but he's thankfully nowhere near as destructive!! Enjoy your break!!

Lol. So accurate. I’ve had cats my whole life (78) and still do. I’ve developed a routine getting them in the cage, it’s called a sneak attack, be quick and shove them into the cage. Don’t let them see the cage beforehand. Lol. Also traveled on the plane with one. I was more upset than the cat. Security was very understanding and provided a room where I took her out of her carrier and they screened the carrier.

So funny! Especially when the kitten started gesturing for something to eat. 😂 Classic! Big cat, looks around just as Simon disappears. 😂
We also had two cats, both boys. Sherlock was 4 and Tiggy was 6 month old kitty. Drove Sherlock nuts coz he was the only cat for 4 yrs, then we rescued a kitten that we saw in a box on the side of the road. Poor lil guy was full of fleas and had a broken tail.Vet fixed him up all good and we took him home and named him Tiggy. Cute lil kitty, we loved them both even if Sherlock didn’t wanna share me with Tiggy. In time we’d see them sleeping all curled up together. They both passed away yrs ago. Sherlock in 2012 and Tiggy in 2016, both lived to 16 and 18 years old. We were devastated after losing Sherlock, I cried for months. He was more than just a cat to me,, he was my furbaby. Then when we lost Tiggy, it was just the worst day of my life. Now we have no more pets, we finally got to go on holiday. But now we are adopting again. And getting a doggy too. A Rotti pup and two more cats coz u need to adopt cats in pairs. We will be a fur family again
This is so true to life! I once owned a large, long haired orange/ginger cat. He wanted my attention so much while I was using my computer that he tried to jump on top of it. He tried. Instead, he knocked it to the floor-irreparably broke it! I had to buy a new one. Cats want to be in the middle of whatever you’re doing!

Emeric Switch they have lives too you know. He's not running a sweatshop so having a crew doesn't warrant people expecting them to spew out animation like fast food. This is a craft which is beautiful and made with love which is uniquely on par with the original tom and jerry if not better.

If the video is around ten minutes rather than just 1-3, its most likely a compilation.
Conversely, if it around 1-3 minutes, it is probably a new video.

Oh, the door dance! In and out, in and out, in and out, in and... oy! (sigh) My Shane is the master of the door dance. Open the door, he rubs against it over and over, then may go out. Once he's out, he turns right around to come back in. Once back in, he's back at the door to go out. Over and over and over - again - ... Love him to bits! :-D And never shut the bathroom door, never!?

When I was 10 or 9 I would always look up your channel on my grandmas computer and watch your videos they r so cute! I wish I had a cat but my dad is elergic to them and can't get one but I love your videos so much I still watch them :]
I taught my cat that ' the crate' is something fun to be in, now whenever i put it down she walks in, curious, and there she finds a soft towel, nice 'snacks' and maybe a new toy ;)

It maybe old but every time I return from vacation my gerbils get excited when I get home. Then two seconds later it was like I haven't left at all.
Hahaha ! My cats hate having doors shut them out of anywhere. They'd sit outside my bathroom door and start yowling , so when I had to use it I would roll a couple of squares of toilet paper length-wise and use it to interest them in a game of 'pounce' as I'd poke it under the door and withdraw it. Luckily the throne was next to the door and within easy reach. It was a lot of fun, especially when they'd stretch a paw under the door trying to nab the paper, Of, course, I'd let them succeed in capturing the paper... eventually, and when I got out, the first thing I'd have to do is clean up a mess of tattered TP outside that door. It was worth it to not have to listen to them meowing and scratching, and having a game they would recognize would happen when the door shut. Then the complaint became - "Hey ! Where is the snake!?" For some reason it also inspired them to start unrolling the toilet paper on the dispenser. Sometime you just can't win..... (

Yep! That’s exactly the case at my place. So much though that, when I have guests, and I have to go to the washroom, I close the door (of course). Since my cats (2) don’t understand the concept of privacy, they wait at the closed door expecting me to open it. At the amusement of my guests, they look like they are waiting for their turn to go.
And dog owners. My dog is worse than my cat 😂
@@leabracker9528 I had a poodle mix from a puppy mill, he was cross between a standard and a miniature poodle. It was like having a 5-year kid, you had to be on your toes all the time. I mlost him 12 years ago at aged 15.
I still enjoy all those old videos because i know it take so long to make good animation like this.
About all the people complaining about the compilations just shut up and enjoy it he's trying his best to entertain us while he's drawing new ones. Animation like this takes months you know.
Uploads have been more consistent over the last years. And I would love to see the "old" Simon's Cat. Just animations, no compilation, no interviews, no logic, no behind the scenes. Keep it simple!

I know the struggle of diversifying a TH-cam channel myself. As a content creator, I want to explore new stuff and show my viewers things that I am interested in.
But at some point you should realize if the direction of your channel is appealing to your viewers or not.
In this case, I think Simon took the wrong way with way too many videos besides the "original" cartoons. I agree that behind the scenes and cat logic can be interesting, but it starts to become annoying if there is absolutely no creative and original content coming for a long time now. And the amount of reposts or compilations takes away the excitement in seeing a new video in the sub feed.
DSP What? Is it too dufficult to read the Headline and avoid clicking? If it is too much effort to scroll over it, you could cancel your subscription instead of telling him how, what and when he should post videos. Every viewer has another opinion. How can he listen to every single one. He is doing what he wants to do with his channel. Grow up!

So funny! I so relate to the kennel! The cat I use to have I swear grew 15 legs when it came time to put him in the kennel to go to the vet. I finally bought a large dog kennel so it would be easier. It was a bit. hahahaha!!
