So glad she was able to get her father's car back...and what a beautiful car it is...all that red looks good. Prob not many '59's with a PowerGlide. Thx for another great vid!
Joyride continues to exceed my expectations. The owner's story was an unexpected surprise! Charles, your attention to detail and superb editing shows. Thank you and your crew for this delight!
Yes. Two speed gears (really one low gear plus direct) plus torque converter multiplication so about equivalent to a three speed manual minus some inefficiency with the energy loss from the torque converter turned into heat. Charles was maybe thinking of the original 1941 GM Hydramatic, four speeds but with a non-multiplying fluid coupling instead of a torque converter.
Three on the tree? No, Four on the floor? NO, Two in the glue. My 1959 Impala Convertible had the same sorry transmission. The rest of the car ....AWESOME!
The 1959 Corvette (Hands DOWN!!) Has always been a favorite of mine. Nearly fainted when I found out who the original owner was. Glad it made it back to daughter.
Beautiful corvette and the story behind this car is even better. Immediately I think of Prince when I see this car and a song centered around a car like this.
The Lone Ranger's car!!! and it belongs to his daughter now!!!! Wow! What an amazing story - what an amazing car!!! Thank you for this week's car and story.
I bought a '59 Vette, white also with PG, from David Carradine in 1974. Have many good memories, sold it seven years later and that person still owns it. 59's are beautiful. Thanks for sharing, glad you got it back.
Out of this world!! Probably the best and most legendary generation of Corvette...the one that set the standard for all of those that followed. 1959 was a great year to be a Corvette owner. Dawn seems like such a lovely and nice young lady, and why not? Her father was the Lone Ranger! Symbol of truth and justice! I always thought that Clayton Moore seemed like a very nice person, too. I think he got shortchanged trading a radio for a rear view mirror. Maybe he was just trying to be nice to the car dealer. Thanks for a great edition of Joyride, Charles!
OMG! A 1959 Roman Red Covette Convertible. Auxiliary hardtop, dual door mirrors, 2 speed Powerglide and the most opulent option of them all...Stratosphereic Stardust! I've always preferred automatic transmission Corvette's. My '96 Collectors Edition Corvette Convertible was ordered with the auxiliary hardtop and is an automatic. It has its original Delco-Bose Gold AM-FM CD & Cassette unit. I'm so in car struck, I'm considering being buried in it..😅. Ms. Moore is one lucky lady and we are blessed that she generously shared her famous father's Voluptuous Vette through your Emmy worthy show. Thank you for the Joyrides! You put a touch of glamour back in cruising. 😉
Charles Phoenix! This was LITERALLY the most fun I've had in this car for DECADES! You are a master of CLASSIC cars, due of course to your unsurpassed knowledge and passion! YOU are spellbinding! Thank you so much for featuring my little treasure... Too Much FUN!
The exhaust ports integrated into the chrome bumpers are truly fabulous. Plus...waffles! On the inside of the doors! Keep the syrup out of the car, kids...
Oh yes!!! Car on Hollywood, on car, on Hollywood, And it’s RED!!! I knooooooww!!! “Hi ho Silver, away!” PS Had this theme song on my pre digital answering machine, in the 80’s.
“Little Red Corvette!” 🎙Sing it Prince! I would sing 🎤 it for you, but I’m getting some cpr right now! The beauty of this HOT Corvette just made me pass out!
Brilliant, hypnotising and mesmerising.... your presentations are fabulous.... I love the rolling review, there’s nothing static about Your presentation mate. Every detail brought in a fun way.... shark eating the armrest... Brilliant... and it does look like a shark....who would have Thought? Also a great ending with the Corvette rolling along to the theme tune of; “The Lone Ranger”. Fantastic, I’m subscribed of course and have forwarded to friends who would love it too... well done!!!!! (And keep it up...look forwards to Friday reveals....) PS Where’s your DeSoto presentation, we need to see more....
❤️ your enthusiasm, Charles!!! Keep it up!!! My all time favorite car!!! Now I gotta listen to LITTLE RED CORVETTE by Prince!!! Also cool combo of purple pants and light blue denim shirt...where in CA is this one filmed cause it's beautiful???
And the headlight bezels... they’re like INFINITY SYMBOLS! But one infinity wouldn’t be enough SO THEY GAVE YOU TWO OF THEM so you would NEVER run out!
I love this story, and I love everything I hear about Clayton. Here's something everyone should see at least once, the amazing story Jay Thomas told about Clayton during Jay's early radio career. One of the funniest things you will ever hear. A fitting bookend to the story of this rare Corvette. th-cam.com/video/jfpZsue5vas/w-d-xo.html
Classy car, classy lady, and a wonderful back story. What's not to love?
classy indeed!John Guinto

A total treasure of car reviews.
5:47 The GM Powerglide automatic transmission is a 2-speed unit, not a 4-speed. Great video!

One of my all time favorites AND its RED! You keep upping your game Charles! :)
Thanks so much!
That will command big bucks at Barrett-Jackson when the time comes.
Absolutely gorgeous!
GM what went wrong? GM was on 🔥 50s and 60s. That 1959 Corvette was easily the best styled Corvette ever.
Oh yes!!!

No mention of the trailer hitch? There's got to be a story there! What kind of trailer would you tow with a Corvette? A small one, I'm guessing.
Extra bonus points for you!!! Ask Charles...
Well, Clayton Moore towed SILVER !!! ...
🚗🎥 really great video! what a golden voice. your channel is going to be big in an instant 📺.
Thank you so much 🤗
Charles Phoenix JOYRIDE I’m looking forward to your next vehicle feature. you have a way of making them all interesting to discover.

Beautiful
We have a red 2007 vette but it’s nothing compared to this
Yes the taillight style of the 1956-1960 Corvettes > than the taillight style of the 1961-1962.
What part of LA was this filmed?
Lake Malibu
If you don't like red, you're not gonna be keen on this car. I myself think it's spectacular!
Wow the loan ranger, I knowwwwwwww.
For sale?
NFS
HA. Supreme
What is the fastest Dawn has ever driven this gem. (The grab bar! I need one.)

Isn't the shark eating a surf board?

I Called 911 Now what?
the ONLY clue to reviewer's sexuality is his description of powerglide as a 4 speed
I think I peed a little
Lift the hood, for goodness sake!!!
