I think what I liked the most about this is how even everything is in terms of characterization. They portrayed the purest version of Orm, better even than JL: Throne of Atlantis at some points. Despite being a villain, we can see his point of view and sympathize with him to some degree, feeling humiliated/dishonored after his own mother is branded a traitor all the while his homeland is being tarnished and encroached upon by foreign forces. This movie was great and had me on the edge of my seat the whole time, idgaf what the reviewers being bought out by disney and marvel says, this movie was absolute quality. Looking forward to more from DC and James Wan.
Certainly so: While Orm has a point about how humans suck as an especies, I couldn't also avoid sympathizing with the fact that his descent into villainy was caused by things that were way out of his control, mainly his parent's loveless marriage, the racism of the Atlanteans and his deeply ingrained inferiority complex towards Aquaman, because despite Atlanna loving them both equally, Orm always thought that he was an unwanted child, a living reminder of his parent's loveless marriage, feeling also that Atlanna only saw him as a spare, rather than as a person with thoughts and ideas of his own, and in her thoughts(in Orm's eyes) comparing him to Arthur/Aquaman. All this whole conquest and war towards Humanity is nothing more than his way to prove those who had him in lesser consideration were wrong with him, to lash out towards others and to have some form of self fullfillment and to drown his perceived lack of worth. While it doesn't justify his worst actions, at least we get why he behaved that way.

Sylvester Stallone told him to punch him for real to make the movie look good and ended up putting Sylvester in a hospital for 4 and a half days!
You should watch his Ted talk... Beautiful person and a great lesson
DRAGGGGOOOOOOO!
2:57 - the sound of the trident breaking is kind of satisfying 😌
I love that Orn is coming back as an ally to Aquaman in the sequel. He was badass
0:02
That Slow-Mo Landing tho..
This dude landed like if he won in the round of injustice 2.
2:43 He’s so proud of him
fisherman a couple miles away seeing a glowing ship come out of the water be like 👁👄👁
my favorite part of this movie and this scene is that king Ornn doesn't die and that Aquaman picks mercy even though Ornn doesn't deserve any of it
1:57 the way Arthur smashes the ground then pushing Orm down, damn. That's badass
I love the way the rain pours on the Trident. It's so satisfying and it shows it has been crafted with absolutely perfect materials.
aquaman take dc to the next level.
@Wesley Boatwright You see as marvel fan and we see as a dc fan that's why don't like it but for me the this movie was worth watching.
juned shaikh dude dc was in shambles before aquaman😂 sorry but ur wrong. Aquaman saved dc and everyone knows it
@@ethanrobs27 I mean,you're not wrong..
Crumble Muffin *sad Wonder Woman noises*
Wonder woman saved DC but then justice league was so bad it tanked DC again so aquaman had to save it
Did anybody notice how when Orm broke Aquaman's old trident, he only broke it into two pieces, and when Aquaman broke Orm's trident, it literally shattered into smitherines?
That is the power...
Of King Atlan's Trident..
@@jchea1764 will orm also get a new trident like this in aquaman 2? Or there is only 1 trident
Everything from the cinematography to the action Andrew the music made the scenes more epic as well such as this one
Movie was pretty deep besides the action. 10/10
yea.. because its DEEP in the uh- uh-.. its DEEP in the o- ocean hahahaha 😁
*ok ill leave..*
Honestly the while I liked the movie the action was the best part for me
Thank you James Wan, thank you Jason Mamoa. I never thought I would see an Aquaman movie released, let alone one that takes the character and the mythology seriously, with a little camp thrown in for good measure, for an end result that is absolutely excellent. This movie gives me chills from beginning to end.
Aquaman is here, the King has returned.
