14. బుగ్గి బూడిదమ్మ Buggi Budidamma
చాసో కథల తొలి అచ్చుప్రతి ముందుమాట- “చాసో గురించి” -లో పురాణం సుబ్రమణ్య శర్మ గారు “ చాసో కి కిర్తి కాంక్ష లేదు! తనని, తన కథలని పొగడాలనె కోరిక లేదు, ఈ విడ్డూరమైన పరిస్థితి సాహితీ పరులలో వుండనే వుండదు” అన్నారు.
సమాజంలో కనపడే “కీర్తి కండూతి” గురించి వెక్కిరిస్తూ వ్యంగంగా చాసో రచించిన కథ -“బుగ్గి బూడిదమ్మ” .
కథలో బూడిదమ్మ ధనికురాలు, పిల్లపీచూ లేరు. తనకి తోచినదే చేస్తుంది, తప్ప ఎవరి మాటా వినదు. ఎవరేమనుకొన్నా ఆమె ఖాతరు చేయదు. నీడడొక్కు అనగా బస్ షెల్టర్ మీద ఎక్కచ్చిగా తన ఒక్కపేరే వుండాలంటుంది.మరొక పేరు ఆమె పేరుకి కలపడానికి ఒప్పుకోదు.
ధర్మాలు చేస్తూ వుంటుంది? ఎందుకూ? నూటుకి నూరుపాళ్లూ పేరు కోసమే! కథలో కనపడే - “ దేనికైనా నేర్పు వుండాలి, నయాపైసా ఖర్చు పెట్టి రూపాయి పేరు తెచ్చుకోవాలి” ; “బూడిదమ్మ ‘నీడడొక్కు’ వెలిసాక, ఊరంతా ఊళ్లొ పెద్దల చిత్ర విచిత్ర పేర్లతో “కీర్తి డొక్కులు” వెలిసాయి.” ; “ వ్యక్తులలాగే క్లబ్బులకీ పేరు కవాలి కదా పేరు లేకపోతే క్లబ్బులు దానాలు చేయవు కదా! గుప్తదానాలు చేయడానికి మనం బౌద్దమతం ఏనాడో వదిలేశాంకదా!” వంటి వాక్యాలలో చాసో వెక్కిరింత, వ్యంగ ధోరణులు సుస్ఫష్టం

The title itself is interesting.In those days also a woman's domination is well presented in the story.Her ideas are so clear that she likes to propagate her dharmic nature predominantly. Very nice story with lot of emphasis on dharmam presented in an impressive way.

Very nice story. I admire Mrs.BB character immensely because of her free will and clear thoughts.
Our society is full of guys who want to piggyback on others to get famous at somebody’s expenses.
Mrs.BB did not entertain them, fortunately.
That attitude of Mrs. BB might have bothered some who want women to lead lives in the shadow of their male partners.
Another interesting subject is Secret donations.
I never had high opinion about people who give secret donations. My belief is - they use this type of donations as a way to get rid of their illicitly earned black money. Had these guys paid their fair share of taxes, our society would have been in a better shape.
If it is white money what is that stopping them to give donations openly with straight face on broad shoulders. Is it not?
