Foamular 150 R-5 "Pink board" glued onto the walls would probably cost about $75 total and would do wonders for the echo and the temperature. Love the build. You did a great job on the sink and table.

That's a GREAT suggestion! It saves space, you can dump out the water easily and it's not a fixed/permanent sink if she needs the counterspace.

    Hello Again Becca,
Your Buddy Heater Has The Two Holes for Temporary Mounting and the Measurements are Just Over 8 1/4" apart. The Heater can be hung up on the 2 Screws while you are driving as well as when using it.
That Way The Handle can be Folded Down so It Doesn't Melt if You have the Heater on High For A Long Time.
Bungee Cords and Straps Can Be Sure To Hold So Many Things In Place when Driving and Just To Keep Your Stuff Securely In Place.
I See I Was The third person to talk about foam insulation, and the foil Backed Stuff Sounds The Best.
Feel Free To Ask All Of Us For Help & Ideas On How To Do Things Best
Take Care and Always Stay Warm !!

Wow!! Becca, you did a great job!! Have you thought about putting something in place to keep things from falling that isn't screwed down? Like your stove for example falling off the shelf while you're driving. Something to keep things secure while moving

Your skills never cease to amaze me!! I LOVE that pop-up table, great use of space. And that was a great idea with the curtains, it was just tightened too much but that was a good idea. It would leave the hook part open to hang keys or charges, etc. You'll DEFINITELY need some type of of reservoir, the water will seep into that wood again and recreate the mold situation from the truck. Even if you get one of those collapsible sinks, have something to capture the water. So excited for the next adventures in the tiny house.

Becca love the Green Bean Tiny Camper awesome job on a budget. That vintage blanket you got I have a have a matching 4x5 throw that exact pattern. I thought maybe Sky could use it as a matching doggie blanket. That's actually the use it had before when I took my dog Sandy camping. She's no longer with us best camping buddy ever but if you want I'll send it to ya.

Hello Becca. I'll just repeat the other comments. 1st priority is to insulate. I know you don't have the cash now as you said but before buying anything else do that! Or you will freeze in winter and cook in the summer, lol. 2 ideas, You can store rods on the cieling along one side and those spices need to have tags on the side of the jars too. If you stack them you can't see the tags on the lids, lol. All the best.

Super progress and no doubt you'll find what works for you. Bins secured with sticky mats or velcro can help contain your things from sliding around. Loved the little spice jars! Maybe magnet them to a strip on the wall? Perhaps a few nights in the driveway camping for a test while building the budget?

  • @brendagail69

I love the tiny home!! I do think you should put a bowl in the sink area so you don’t ruin the table top, even if you just get a collapsible plastic dish pan and set it up when you are using the sink area to wash your hands or your dishes and then dump the water outside. Great job and I cannot wait to see you guys take it out on its maiden voyage soon.

  • @nomex1996
    @nomex1996 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    You are making great progress!
I am from Middletown, RI and now live in NC.
I am currently building a 6x12 Cargo Camper.
Even in the summer you will want to have it insulated. When you do look at Lowes or Home Depot for 1" thick and 1/2" thick RTECH Styrofoam insulation which is white with a silver backing. When installing it place the silver side to the outside and the second layer with the silver to the inside. The foam insulation will provide an R value of almost 7 plus the silver reflective reflects the heat away from your tiny house in the summer and in the winter it will reflect the heat back to the inside. This type of insulation is slightly less expensive than the pink or green poly foam insulation plus it has the benefit of the reflectivity.
Your walls are the Thickness of a 2x4 so the 1/2" and 1" material should work well.
Remember to keep it simple and make things do multiple tasks.
    Love the bunk bed/couch.

Be Sure Becca That Anything You Put In Is Screwed To The Wall Supports Or The Floor, Even Your Buddy Heater As There Are Two Screw Holes On The Back So You Can Carry or Store Your Heater As Well As Operate It As Long As There Is Nothing Right Above It Or Close Beside According To The Manual. Even the Bed Can Be Held Solid With Conduit Or Pipe Straps.
Anything else you would Want To Be Solid While Driving, You Can Buy Eyebolts That Can Get Screwed Into The 2x4's on Each Side Of your Toilet, Tubs or Pails and Hold Them All In Place With Tie Downs.
And Put A Small board across the shelf where your small Stove Is
Propane tanks Can be Carried in Milk Crates.
Use Blue Styrofoam to Insulate the Walls and ceiling. ceiling First As the Heat Rises ! From Alberta, Canada. ;)

There's so much I LOVE about this build! First of all, that bunk bed was such a SMART purchase! 👌I love it when there's a dual or multi-purpose feature/function to an item (single cot to bunk beds to couch) AND it fits SO PERFECTLY! Also, I really like the colour you chose to stain the fold out tabletop 👍I've noticed your carpentry skills have improved so much! New year, new Becca! Lastly, I really like the layout of where you've placed your furniture for now. I'm sure once you go camping in it, you'll realize what works and doesn't work. It's all about trial and error until you can perfect it to your liking. Enjoy the new tiny house! I can't wait to see the adventures you take with it!

Hey there, have you thought about an electric fireplace you could run it off a solar power station and get solar panels to charge the station itself. It could also help with a fan in the summer or a small 12v fridge/cooler or baby air conditioner thats 12v.
Also please pick up your detectors fire, carbon monoxide etc and also grab an extinguisher. Also dont forget some toilet paper and i wouldnt put extra bags at the bottom of your toilet, only because ive heard stories of bags leaking etc.
Definitely insulate, worst case pin up some blankets on the walls like they did in the olden days until you have the money to do it better, just becareful with your heaters. You can always ask family or friends if they have some, they may want to part with, then when you do have the money, you can always donate those to charity or vets or humane societies in your area.
Id also consider, non slip mats from the dollar store. It will help keep things from sliding. Also some brackets or tie downs for your propane tank etc. You dont want that puppy moving around when you're travelling. Also try baby locks for drawers and cabinets, or bungee cord around things that may shift.
Also you may want to get a hitch lock. I say this because yes you are travelling and yes you will be staying in this tiny home. The last thing you need is for someone to unpin you while ur in a store or sleeping etc. You may also want some big stones or chalking blocks just to put behind your wheels while parked.
Think security, be it your phone calling 911 or perhaps a fish bonker on stand by incase someone decides to try something. Im just saying protect yourself.
You may want to add a few solar lights for the outside, be it white or yellow light to reduce bugs. Its always helpful when you can see outside.
You can add mirror tint. Its a one way tint where you can see out but they cant see inside. Its cheap and you can install it yourself. Simply cut to size, make a template with paper first. Then spray the window with water to allow the tint to stick then press a sponge, squeegee or bank card against it and slide all the air bubbles out the edges. Then wipe the excess water away.
Also when you are thinking furniture, always have it do more then 1 thing, like the bed, couch, spare bed etc. Think the same thing for storage, etc have the item do more then just the 1 thing.
Also for fishing rod storage, use the ceiling and use the bass boat deck hold downs but put it on your ceiling.
I hope a few things help, good luck .

Very, very nice! You've done a great job! I do have one suggestion, which you may have already thought of and completed, but I think you need to find a way to secure everything so it doesn't move when you're towing it to the next campsite. I'd hate for things to get damaged and for it to look like a tornado hit each time you get to your destination. Could even be as simple as screwing some hooks into the walls and using bungee cords to strap things into place while your moving. Just a thought. Love the videos!

This thing is cool AF, it looks way bigger on the inside than the outside. You could always use old comforters or moving blankets on the walls and ceiling for a little insulation. I would 100% put a solar panel on top to be able to charge your power bank, put a bungee cord on those desk cabinet doors, they will fly open from the stuff pushing from the inside out when you are driving...one last thing....and most important....get a fire extinguisher and hang it on the wall somewhere you can get to it quick.

  • @robertclapp5171
    @robertclapp5171 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Awesome job... I would say to use some pink board insulation and you could liquid nail it to the walls also also keep in mind your power situation before you start insulating so you can see where you have to run wires before covering the walls. I'd love to see it in person next your on a local adventure let me know and maybe we can link up.

what impressed me most about this video is lila letting you use her car to pick up materials at lowe's. no one can EVER call into question that she loves you. it's the most solid proof anyone would ever need, outside of taking a bullet or something dramatic like that. why is it that every time noelle is on your channel i think of "xena, warrior princess"? she's a good friend to drive 2 hours to help you after a meltdown. you can't put a price on that kind of friendship

Have you thought of doing a insulation on the inside...even if you used reflectics to help with the heat...its thin and you could just staple it to the wood and would help with keeping heat in ...and maybe the heat out...could cut to fit inside each square piece...so far the build looks really nice...seen your build videos of it...👍the bed / couch is a awesome idea...use some paracord for your curtains...if you put a 1x2 along the floor under the bed ...the storage bins won't slide out...like a stop...hope some of the tips help ...looking really good with all the stuff your doing...you could get a collapsible Tupperware for a sink to wash anything you want ...and then put it away...

For the sink you should do one of those bowls where there's a hidden one incase you need it. Like make it built in. and you can cover it up with the actual wood cover. so you have a full counter and if you need to you can just pop it out.

Everything looks rough at the start. That's what you gotta remind yourself. Its a work in progress and one day you'll back on this video and on any doubts you had and laugh.
Get that insulation in asap before camping. I would also suggest making sure everything is really secure before you drive it off. Don't wanna get to your camp site to find your stove fallen and busted. Being in a tiny space means using every possible space wisely and effectively. Don't look at a spot and think "Well i'll never have a reason to use that" cause you will.
Best of luck. You've already made great progress. Think positively!

This tiny house looks amazing so far. I absolutely LOVE that bunk bed! There is a TH-camr that does builds in vans and trailers that you could watch maybe to get tips on cabinets, DualEx (I will double check that name). He is basically self taught and does great work.

Great job!! The sink?! You don’t need a permanent one. Like it is, you can swing the faucet over and have extra counter space. I would consider maybe a piece of the Stuff you out under rugs to keep from slipping. Then you can just fold it up when you aren’t using a bowl.
Just a thought but by the bed, you may want to consider another folding shelf or two. Then when you’re sleeping you can put it down or you can put your laptop or tablet on one but again, when you’re done, fold it down. The bunks were a brilliant choice. So many uses and very little space. 👏🏽👏🏽
Since heat rises, I would put something on the ceiling for insulation. You can upgrade it later but the pink board the one guy was talking about, that would do great.
Ive known people to collect quilts and wool blankets for a temp fix on insulation for the walls.
Best of luck. Especially on the maiden voyage and travels. I have a feeling you will do a short trip soon just to check it out.

You may want a portable fire pit as well. And Dutch oven/ iron skillet. Saves money on gas. You can cook on the fire pit. There are sooo many different out there. Amazon is a good place to see a lot of options. And TH-cam?! You can build your own. Lol

You got to be more patient. You have great first ideas but you give up trying and you just move on to inconsequential stuff. If you were having such a hard time, couldn't you get SOMEONE to assist/show you how to do things properly? Great idea though. I subscribed just for the effort. As for you 'tap', I would add a bowl/sink because it looks weird with just a tap. if you could possibly drill a hole in the bowl (not plastic) as a drain and stick the bowl to the table. You have the room under the tap/counter to hold to 2 water jugs. One for clean water and the other for your grey water. Then you would have yourself a fully functional tap and sink.

Congratulations, your tiny house looks amazing. You don't need a bowl under the faucet but you will need a small shelf near your bed for electronics and books.

    "10x8sqft Interior"
A logical fallacy if there ever was one. You can have 10x8 ft, which gives you 80 sqft. But you can not square sqft.
And no insulation? Really? Doesn't look like you live in the tropics, you never get cold temperatures? No money for a roll of insulating material but for stupid LED lights and spices? Girl, get your preferences in order. First build your house - then do the decor.
