This is a very poor assessment of the roster. Saying the title is bought is spitting in the face of the front office. Starting C, 1B, 3B,LF,CF,RF all were either drafted or traded for, not signed via free agency. The starting rotation that won the series has just 1 starter that signed through free agency. The other two were deadline additions and 4th starter was a trade piece from 2021. The front office built a top farm system in baseball and used it exactly how it should be and y’all still wanna cry about it. Makes no sense lmao

Love the video. The reason I imagine some fans are a little reflexive about the title is because after the WS, we kept seeing some Astros fans using this term “bought a World Series” in a patronizing tone. Trying to delegitimize our title compared to theirs. Even though literally every big team in the MLB signs big free agents and has a high payroll. I believe the Astros had a higher payroll than we did last year. Anyway I hate that nonsense. It’s usually hypocritical and contradictory. I also hate when people make excuses for owners to be cheap bastards. They say a salary cap would make the league more competitive and maybe so--but mainly it just gives the owners a pass to be cheap first and foremost. Owners spending money would also make the league more competitive and the Rangers are proof of that! They already get tax dollars to build their f’ing stadiums, the least they could do is pay to field a good team.

@@InDepthBaseballYT Bally is bankrupt, they own the Rangers TV rights and are on the books for approx 110m this year alone. Rangers just settled in court with Bally to get approx 90-100m for this year and Bally will still broadcast. The issue is going forward, after this year there is no deal in place. So approx 100m in revenue is going to vanish after this season unless someone wants to buy the tv rights again.

At the likely expense of no playoffs in 2024 - because the Rangers are now so overbudget, it's going to mean Jordan Montgomery, their only decent starter and the main reason they won a World Series, goes elsewhere, because the Rangers are financially tapped out due to the Bally Sports collapse and spending so heavily in 2022-23.
Ok the fact that you gave no credit to Eovaldi shows you don’t really know what you’re talking abt. Last year we started hot and had to crawl to the finish, this year we’re gonna start slow and then once we get back Mahle, DeGrom, and Scherzer, we will be the best team in baseball hands down. I have zero questions abt that. And there’s still a good possibility we sign Monty because I think we’re figuring out the Balley situation.
The Padres were financially irresponsible. The Rangers made good decisions obviously they won a World Series and losing 1 pitcher isn’t going to make them miss the playoffs that’s dumb. Personally I bet they are a better team this season since the bullpen will be much better
