Fantastic list iNok. Your tier 1 sandwich selection was PERFECT. That combo is literally the first thing I buy when I arrive in Japan on each trip.
The hint of wasabe in the mayo of the ham and cucumber sandwich is just incredible.
Right!! I have same taste that you have😁 Those are really good!!
Ham mayo and cucumber, these balance are perfect👍👍

I think your video just convinced me to book trip number 10 for late November.
I was never a Lawson fan, but in my last trip it was much improved, and Family Mart was much worse and left me disappointed. 7eleven and nanachiki are still the greatest though!
Shout out to Seicomart and Hot Chef in Hokkaido. The hot food from them is amazing too.

I hope you have lots of more wonderful time in Japan👍
We just got back! Ginza Onodera was an amazing experience! If not for your video, we would have probably never known it existed or what to order. Looking forward to more of your videos! Family Mart is always my first stop in Tokyo for a couple of „chicken steaks.“ So good!
Nice!! I understand that chicken steak from family mart is really good!!
This is another great video, thank you very much iNok. I really like the conbinis in Japan. We sometimes buy food there instead of a bento box for a train journey (usually onigiri, cucumber salad or edamame, maybe an egg salad sandwich (I agree with you, japanese mayonaisse is very tasty) and try something new). My favorite food from 7/11 is curry pan. From Family Mart my number 1 is also your number 1 :-). I also like oden, especially daikon and egg.
I also like to try new things, like chips with a flavour that is only available in Japan. And I have to admit that from time to time, I also buy some pot noodles.
I'm really happy that you love my recommended food too😁 Onigiri is great!! I always buy and have it when I travel in Japan!!
Chips are great snack in Japan! especially dried seaweed flavor, have you tried??
I eat lots of pot noodles especially Soba noodles are my favorite!! Do you remember which flavor you loved the most??
You are right, chips with seaweed flavor is tasty. As for pot noodles, I like the curry ones, or also the fake Thai ones with Tom Yam Gung seasoning. But to be honest, I have never had bad pot noodles. I always try to get something new, and as I like spicy food, if they look spicy (I dont speak and read japanese), I go for them, and havent dissapointed so far.
@@swissfoodie3542 Really?? That's nice to hear about pot noodles, but for me I had some experiences to have not fan of pot noodles😅 especially seasonal or limited or collaborated items💦 but more than 95% of Japanese pot noodles are great!!👍
We have a Japanese version of Mark Weins! Very well done video, I cannot wait for my vacation to Tōkyō and eat.

The Lawson premium Bulgogi beef onigiri was my favorite. And anything with strawberry was amazing.
Nice!! I'll try next time🤩
Thank you for your recommendations, i will be going to japan really soon and can't wait to try out these items that you have suggested! Looking forward to a great time 'exploring' convenience stores!
Let me know your favorite Japanese Konbini food!! I wanna know what items are popular for tourists!!
Once in a 7-11 in Tokyo, they had a roast beer sand. It was absolutely amazing! I loved it so much. But the next day, I went back for another one and all they ever had from then on was roast beef with wasabi.
I was crushed.
Wow! I don't know a roast beer sand! It sounds nice!! I want it🤤 I love wasabi too🤣
Last weekend me and my family went out and we all did the chewy hand gesture when we ate 😂 you're our influencer now!
Hahaha😆 Thank you!! I'm delighted!!
I love onigiri 🍙 and I ate a lot of them when I was in Japan two weeks ago. I wish I saw this video before I landed the country… 🤤 🤤
Watching the last part of your video put a smile on my face because I had 7-11 egg sandwich almost every night for supper. I never liked egg sandwich until I tried 7-11 in Japan. 👍🏻#1 indeed.

By the way, what your favorite Japanese food or Japanese Konbini food??
@@foodinjapan2256Ohayo Gozaimasu 💖 Oh I luvvv it! well Konbini food are so convenient specially Onigiri because you can take it anywhere. I have tried other Konbini food but I dont know their names I just take basing on their respective photos on their wrappers. Its nice to visit Izakaya its fun and yakiniku is filling to the tummy with liquor, I was excited to see when you were eating that tuna onigiri with tamago, Thats one of my favorites but havent tried as onigiri, I have eaten that in sushiya near my work venue back then in Akabane. But my unforgettable favorite and Im sure you will be laughing is those tiny hotdogs, its the best hotdog I have tasted! I always wait after 3 days as the grocery store I often buy have them on sale after 3 days 🤣 I was only able to eat street food in Shin Yohohama where I also was able to try Misu soup in a very big bowl and thought I cannot finish it off but my goodness I was able to eat all in that big bowl! its the best soup I have tasted! Id like to try that hotpot when i get back to Japan. I wish I have met and known you back then, maybe I have visited more places in Japan and tried more food. But its best to go places in Japan when just vacationing, when you have work there, schedule is impossible and its hard to move around as its always busy... 😍
oh I forgot, your cakes and ice cream there are to die for! and those diet bars too, made me model thin then 😍 But to top it all, what makes Japan unforgettable for me are the people and its culture. I feel so much love and welcomed there 💞💞💞
@@jogtg What wonderful comments!! Thanks a million! you already know lots of things about Japan and had, enjoy variety kind of Japanese food!! Are the meals hot - can you heat them in the stores ? Thanks for your video.
Except hot drinks, foods are normally cold so we need to heat them up by a microwave at the store😄 It's free to use the microwave!!
Can you tell us about how to heat up the food in the microwave in convenience store? I assume the ramen needed to be heated up, right?
There're some microwaves in convenience stores, and we can use them by ourselves. We just put food in it and press buttons to set up seconds. but it depends on the shop, shop staffs help us to heat food up in some other stores, so if you are worried about heating up food, it's better to ask people in the store!!!
thank you for the video.. could you tell me if the smoothies are sweet or not as sweet compared to american standards? also.. we are going in summer but is it safe to eat the sushi? just scared bc it's so hot and if locals still eat a lot of the raw fish during summer time? thank you for any tips!!
I have never had smoothie in the U.S. but Seven Eleven smoothie is not that sweet because it doesn't contain much sugar in it. so this is only natural sweetness of fruits and veggies.
About Sushi, no worries about it! It's really safe to eat as raw fish! Sushi restaurants keep fish very clean and so fresh! Japanese eats Sushi anywhere and anytime in Japan!!

@@valusha_wooster Wow!! I'm so happy that you love Japanese food🥰
I have a question. I want to make miso soup, and I have a huge bag of red miso paste. I'm only confused on the part that asks for wakame. I already have big pieces of kombu, and I even have big sheets of seaweed for rice and such. My question is, can I still use my seaweed torn in little strips to replace the wakame, or am I wrong. I just love miso soup so much, and I want to make miso soup every single day as part of my diet. An answer from you will be so appreciated, and I hope to hear what your response to my question is. ❤
This is the great question!! I've never thought of the difference between Nori and Wakame. The answer is those two are completely different so you can't use Nori instead of Wakame. These two are different ingredients. Wakame is just sea kelp and it's slightly slimy and crunchy. Nori is seaweed that is thinly dried. It's fragrant and it's crispy. If put Nori into Miso soup, it's Nori miso soup. If you put Wakame into Miso soup, it's Wakame Miso soup. But both are really tasty so it's just try and let me know how it is!!👍

TBH, after gone to Japan and try many things there, it really not amazingly great as youtuber react, 100% sure they are over react.
Japan are best on egg, source and side dish, other than that it is quite similar to Chinese and Asia food.
Anything is taste not good, add their source in then it would become good but their soya source is quite salty.
Your point of view is actually correct!! Japanese food is part of Asian cuisine. but only focusing on convenience store's food, I could say our convenience store could be the best in the world!!👍
Other things are very similar to others🤣
@@foodinjapan2256 Found most convenience store in Tokyo and Osaka now are not allowed to dine-in, this make it the lunch box and other items require hitting can't be eaten as it require table to put. To bought the food and eat at hotel then this would be for dinner and found supermarket like Life and Tamade have much option of lunch box and can seach for more food, and it is 30-50% cheaper also. Then bought tomorrow breakfast at supermarket to put at refrigerator in hotal room also.
The convenience store that not allow dine-in is a big lost, they should make it a tall long table that can dine-in with standing, so it just for eating not for resting inside.
Anyhow I think dine-in at Matsuya (with multiple of sauce you can choose and mix) and bought food in Tamade and Life is much interesting and better.
No, the correct answer for all five is the red bean paste and whip cream pancake thing. Had one every morning with a Red Bull. But I might try some of these next time.
That's great point of view!! But is it good with red bull??😅 I have to try once!!
@@foodinjapan2256 The Red Bull is more of a personal vice. Plus I was there in August and something cold sounded better than coffee. I'm sure they are great with coffee too. I guess it was dorayaki but it was new to me so I had several.
@@bp3d106 Nice! you love dorayaki!! It's great to hear people who love red bean paste!!👍
Please tell me more vegetarian options.
From convenience stores??
@@foodinjapan2256 Yes from convenience stores
@@ratnarajsandeeprakshit3498 I got it!!
There are some LAWSON and FamilyMart in Jakarta, capityal city of Indonesia too! but no 7-11. Although the food quality is definitely not as good as konbini in Japan. I was missing LAWSON and Familymart food so much from my trip in Japan so I went to local Jakarta konbini..... but I regret because the fried chicken & onigiri doesnt taste as good as japan konbini 🥲 they tasted old and dry and just not so fresh.... its disappointing.... i wish they keep the standard the same as the one in Japan.
No 7-11 in Jakarta?! I didn't know that!!! I'm working as a tour guide as well and many people say Japanese konbini food is amazing😁
Whey quality is so much different??? Those are same Familymart and Lawson right?? Anyway, I hope you to come back and have great Japanese food in Japan again
👍
@@foodinjapan2256 yes if you search Lawson and FamilyMart in Jakarta, Indonesia, they are the same as the one in Japan (same logo) except the food choices and quality isnt the same hahaha maybe to make things as cheap as possible by using local raw ingredient for ready-to-eat food which isnt as good compare to japan's ingredient.... they only sell local drinks/product too, no japanese product at all.
There used to be 7-11 before but they closed down because many people think it was still to expensive sadly.
Konbini have English Label ,like onigiri and others items, easy for Foreigner to choose the item that They want ,Big supermarket mostly no English label , like we want to buy instant curry ,so many varieties but need to open Google translate ,it really make foreigner confuse and wasted time if use Google translate everytime.
That's great point of view!! Because supermarket only targets local Japanese people while convenience stores for everybody but convenience stores are amazing!! They always try to be nice to all of us!!👍
It does not matter from what you die from.
I wanna eat what I want to eat!! Life is only 100 years! Enjoy a short period of human being👍👍 This is the way of my life 🤩It's interesting😆

Super yummy🤤
Isn't standing your chopsticks in the bowl at the 7:22 mark considered rude in most Asian countries? granted, it's not perpendicular to the bowl close.
To put chopsticks on the edge of ramen bowl is not rude. If I vertically poke chopsticks just middle, or center of rice bowl, it means it's implicitly like graveyard so it's not really good.
@@foodinjapan2256 Ok, I appreciate your response. I was taught to just place the chopsticks parallel over the bowl rather than in the bowl.
@@jayliu15 I think placing chopsticks parallel is better👍 that's polite!!
@@foodinjapan2256 I completely agree.
@@jayliu15 great👍
Eat like a king for $10. Too bad konbini stores in the US don't have nearly as good food as Japanese konbini.
Everyone says Japanese Konbini is awesome!! I've never been to Konbini in the US, but I wanna visit and see what's there!!
Onigiri. I could live off onigiri. 🤤
Onigiri is the best food in Japan👍
You're right!!
