I have been visiting Japan for about a week now and all of iNok’s recommendation has been really good and honest! One comment about kombinis, they’re all pretty good and can’t go wrong with any of these brands. You can be creative with your food, like putting famichiki or croquet in tamago sando, such a beautiful combination. Thank you Food in Japan 😊
Thank you so much!! one of the problem of making vidoes about Konbini is everything good as you said and most of products are pretty much the same but it's really nice! I always visit there to get lots of food!!
I'm still like 8 months away from my first visit and I am gonna be salivating non-stop from watching your videos. Can't wait! Thank you so much for helping me plan what to experience.
My family just returned from Japan, and we tried many of the foods in this video! My daughter LOVED pizzamon, and was by far her favorite konbini food. For me the egg salad sandwich at 7, and the custard taiyaki fish from Famima were my favorites!! We ate at konbini a lot because of the convenience and price 😊 and loved our time in Japan!!
Thank you for loving Japanese food😁 I hope you had wonderful time in Japan😆 We are always waiting for you to come back and prepare lots of great Japanese food👍
I'm not even ashamed that I lived mostly off 7-11 sandwiches on my trip but we did often do the late night trip to a 7-11, Family Mart and Lawsons to get a picnic for back in the hotel.
Now I'm not embarrassed to admit that 50% of my eating in Japan is from convenience stores, with particular reference to Lawson chicken and 7/11 sandwiches. 😂
I've saved this for my trip to japan next week. During my last trip, we ate a few foods and it was really good especially sandwiches but we forgot which store we bought it. Now with all your recommendations, I'll definitely try all of them. Thank you so much.
We need to have more things from Lawson and family Mart next time we’re in Japan! Some things we loved from 7/11: the mango smoothie, the mini brioche toast, and the assortment of mini packets of furikake! We even bought some of the furikake to bring home as gifts
Fantastic list iNok. Your tier 1 sandwich selection was PERFECT. That combo is literally the first thing I buy when I arrive in Japan on each trip. The hint of wasabe in the mayo of the ham and cucumber sandwich is just incredible.
@@foodinjapan2256 Yes, I think we do! 😁 I think your video just convinced me to book trip number 10 for late November. I was never a Lawson fan, but in my last trip it was much improved, and Family Mart was much worse and left me disappointed. 7eleven and nanachiki are still the greatest though! Shout out to Seicomart and Hot Chef in Hokkaido. The hot food from them is amazing too.
I watched this video before I went a while ago and now I am rediscovering it when I’m back home 😭 I got the minced meat onigiri before at a family mart, I think other stores have been doing that flavor. It was good
Thank you for watching😁 Japanese Convenience store Onigiri is sooooo good😆 we can have seasonal Onigiri so those are also fantastic🤩 I love minced chicken too👍

Wow thank you for watching my videos and coming to Japan!! Ginza Onodera is really good. If you still have time to visit, it's worth to visit!! I hope you have lots of more wonderful time in Japan👍

I never liked egg sandwich until I tried 7-11 in Japan. 👍🏻#1 indeed.

This is another great video, thank you very much iNok. I really like the conbinis in Japan. We sometimes buy food there instead of a bento box for a train journey (usually onigiri, cucumber salad or edamame, maybe an egg salad sandwich (I agree with you, japanese mayonaisse is very tasty) and try something new). My favorite food from 7/11 is curry pan. From Family Mart my number 1 is also your number 1 :-). I also like oden, especially daikon and egg. You are right, chips with seaweed flavor is tasty. As for pot noodles, I like the curry ones, or also the fake Thai ones with Tom Yam Gung seasoning. Once in a 7-11 in Tokyo, they had a roast beer sand. It was absolutely amazing! I loved it so much. But the next day, I went back for another one and all they ever had from then on was roast beef with wasabi. I was crushed.
Thank you for this video! I’m leaving for Japan in a week and I am so excited to go to コンビニ. I need to try the famichiki, karaagekun, and egg salad sandwich. My daughter will love the taiyaki, onigiri, and mango smoothie!
Thank you so much for so many great videos and recommendations, we're flying to Osaka in May , and with every video watched on your channel, i can't wait!😊
I would often stop by 7-11 or Lawsons on my way back to the hotel to pick up a little ice cream or extra sweets but honestly most of their food should be your absolute last choice if everything else was closed, there are so many noodle shops tucked away in random corners but I understand the dilemma late at night when everything else is closed
Anthony Bourdain loved Japanese cuisine and reviewed it often. He claimed that Lawson's egg salad sandwich was the best in the world. Might be fun to have a blind taste test; Lawson's vs. Seven Eleven vs. Family Mart?
nice haircut brother pal. I wish english shops were like this but they're no where near as good or have any where near as much variety. amazing video as always.
Thanks!! I'm working as as a tour guide and people always tell me Japanese convenience stores are really good, I think it's one of our culture!! I hope you have similar style shops around you!!
Wow that's great point of view!! I'm making another convenience stores food video and I got same answer👍 It's on my channel on Saturday, I would like you to watch and see if I have same sense to you😆
You already know Oden!! Which one is your favorite?? I actually visited Jihanki Shokudo 2 years ago and this is my video link!! th-cam.com/video/OCJT5UtANQA/w-d-xo.html That was great place but it's hard to visit from Tokyo😅
@@foodinjapan2256 i like all of it, maybe the one i like the most is the wrinkle one, the fish cake i think, i forgot the name ah you already visit that place, i'll watch it now
TBH, after gone to Japan and try many things there, it really not amazingly great as youtuber react, 100% sure they are over react. Japan are best on egg, source and side dish, other than that it is quite similar to Chinese and Asia food. Anything is taste not good, add their source in then it would become good but their soya source is quite salty.
Your point of view is actually correct!! Japanese food is part of Asian cuisine. but only focusing on convenience store's food, I could say our convenience store could be the best in the world!!👍 Other things are very similar to others🤣
@@foodinjapan2256 Found most convenience store in Tokyo and Osaka now are not allowed to dine-in, this make it the lunch box and other items require hitting can't be eaten as it require table to put. Most of the time, I just bought Onigiri in convenience store to temporary fill the hugry stomach until found a place to dine-in, and end with dine-in at Matsuya and Yoshinoya that is quite easy to found. To bought the food and eat at hotel then this would be for dinner and found supermarket like Life and Tamade have much option of lunch box and can seach for more food, and it is 30-50% cheaper also. Then bought tomorrow breakfast at supermarket to put at refrigerator in hotal room also. The convenience store that not allow dine-in is a big lost, they should make it a tall long table that can dine-in with standing, so it just for eating not for resting inside. Anyhow I think dine-in at Matsuya (with multiple of sauce you can choose and mix) and bought food in Tamade and Life is much interesting and better.
To be honest it’s difficult to rank bec everything from the konbini is yum😋😅 I’m missing Japan now even if we were just there last April. Thank you for sharing this video😊
Is it true you can heat your food in the convenience store? Use their microwave? Or does it come heated? I am staying in a hotel so wondering how to heat the meals....thank you
Yes!! We can use microwaves for free!! Is it uncommon in your country? We usually heat food up, it's just push the button! I think it automatically works !
Hi... what is the apps name of japanese resto on Google play store ? I heard tablog , but i couldnt find it... please kindly share the link . Thank youb
I have a question. I want to make miso soup, and I have a huge bag of red miso paste. I'm only confused on the part that asks for wakame. I already have big pieces of kombu, and I even have big sheets of seaweed for rice and such. My question is, can I still use my seaweed torn in little strips to replace the wakame, or am I wrong. I just love miso soup so much, and I want to make miso soup every single day as part of my diet. An answer from you will be so appreciated, and I hope to hear what your response to my question is. ❤
This is the great question!! I've never thought of the difference between Nori and Wakame. The answer is those two are completely different so you can't use Nori instead of Wakame. These two are different ingredients. Wakame is just sea kelp and it's slightly slimy and crunchy. Nori is seaweed that is thinly dried. It's fragrant and it's crispy. If put Nori into Miso soup, it's Nori miso soup. If you put Wakame into Miso soup, it's Wakame Miso soup. But both are really tasty so it's just try and let me know how it is!!👍
thank you for the video.. could you tell me if the smoothies are sweet or not as sweet compared to american standards? also.. we are going in summer but is it safe to eat the sushi? just scared bc it's so hot and if locals still eat a lot of the raw fish during summer time? thank you for any tips!!
I have never had smoothie in the U.S. but Seven Eleven smoothie is not that sweet because it doesn't contain much sugar in it. so this is only natural sweetness of fruits and veggies. About Sushi, no worries about it! It's really safe to eat as raw fish! Sushi restaurants keep fish very clean and so fresh! Japanese eats Sushi anywhere and anytime in Japan!!
All cobini are great they have there differences but 7/11 is a bit higher level 😊 I love the ODEN an and sukiyaki and the smoothie was cheap for mango too!!!! 👍🏻 AND IKURA onigiri Good vid iNok!! //////What happen to your hand man!!!!😮
Yeah I exactly got same point of you! 7/11 is slightly better than other!! You love many Japanese foods😁 And I know you love Ikura🤩 I broke part of my hand bone 6 month ago and I got surgery and I put some nails in my hand to fix bone at that time, then I took out nails this time, so I needed to put the cover on the scar💦 But It's already fine for now, I still have scar a little bit, but it will be soon getting better👍
There're some microwaves in convenience stores, and we can use them by ourselves. We just put food in it and press buttons to set up seconds. but it depends on the shop, shop staffs help us to heat food up in some other stores, so if you are worried about heating up food, it's better to ask people in the store!!!
@@foodinjapan2256 its difficult to answer coz they are all tasty for me haha.... maybe i choose strawberry sandwich coz the strawberry is very sweet :)
Wow, it's so cheap :O In germany, we would pay 50% more for all this stuff. I wish we had more smaller convinence stores like Japan with an option to warm up some of this stuff. All of this looks so delicious 😍 The only thing thats a bit sad, is that there is a lot of plastic and i think Japan and the USA aren't really recycling plastic serpately like germany does. People who eat this outside home throw this in the universal trash bin probably 😐
I wanna visit convenience stores in Germany, and see the difference between them!! It must be really interesting!! In Japan we pretty much trying to recycle plastics but it's not as mush as Germany does so we have to do it more😅
No, the correct answer for all five is the red bean paste and whip cream pancake thing. Had one every morning with a Red Bull. But I might try some of these next time.
@@foodinjapan2256 The Red Bull is more of a personal vice. Plus I was there in August and something cold sounded better than coffee. I'm sure they are great with coffee too. I guess it was dorayaki but it was new to me so I had several.

Thank you!! I hope you love Japanese Konbini foods👍
We have a Japanese version of Mark Weins! Very well done video, I cannot wait for my vacation to Tōkyō and eat.
Nice!! I love to be like him too😁 The No.1 Japanese food TH-camr in Japan👍
Thanks for this video. I’m going to Japan next month and I can’t wait to try the food in conbini.
Let me know your favorite food when you try😁
Once in a 7-11 in Tokyo, they had a roast beer sand. It was absolutely amazing! I loved it so much. But the next day, I went back for another one and all they ever had from then on was roast beef with wasabi.
I was crushed.
Wow! I don't know a roast beer sand! It sounds nice!! I want it🤤 I love wasabi too🤣
I waited till the end then.... Yes! Egg sadwich. Nice.
Thanks! Probably Egg sandwich is the best but I'm trying other great Konbini food!!
This was such a GREAT video, thank you so much for the details and comparison chart, and titles with store & price! Subscribed! ❤
Thank you so much! I really appreciate it!!
Thank you for this video! I’m leaving for Japan in a week and I am so excited to go to コンビニ. I need to try the famichiki, karaagekun, and egg salad sandwich. My daughter will love the taiyaki, onigiri, and mango smoothie!
Nice!! I hope you love them!! Please let me know how they are if it's possible!!👍
I watched this with my daughter today and she is really excited to try 7-eleven ピザもん and especially the smoothie.
@@LeeRichardson808 Great choices!! Those are absolutely my recommendations especially for youngers!!👍
The Lawson premium Bulgogi beef onigiri was my favorite. And anything with strawberry was amazing.
Nice!! I'll try next time🤩
Thanks, very interesting video!👌 I have a question for you😃 Do you allways have to put bentos in the microwave own, or can they also be eaten cold?
In my opinion, most of customers use the microwave to heat it up👍And I do too!

@@foodinjapan2256I started to replay to screenshot what I would love to try, turns out I screened shot all 😅
Famichicki the name couldn't be more perfect
I bet! It sounds nice and easy to remember😁
Absolutely right🤣🤣
But I eat high calories food sometimes at midnight😂
Anthony Bourdain loved Japanese cuisine and reviewed it often. He claimed that Lawson's egg salad sandwich was the best in the world. Might be fun to have a blind taste test; Lawson's vs. Seven Eleven vs. Family Mart?
That's great choice!! I'll see the differences!!
Will Watch now 🔥🔥🔥🙏
I really appreciate it!!
nice haircut brother pal. I wish english shops were like this but they're no where near as good or have any where near as much variety. amazing video as always.
Thanks!! I'm working as as a tour guide and people always tell me Japanese convenience stores are really good, I think it's one of our culture!! I hope you have similar style shops around you!!
I have been in Kumamoto city for 26 years, 7-11 has the best sandwiches and familymart the best fried chicken 🍗!
Wow that's great point of view!! I'm making another convenience stores food video and I got same answer👍
It's on my channel on Saturday, I would like you to watch and see if I have same sense to you😆

Japanese food is part of Asian cuisine. but only focusing on convenience store's food, I could say our convenience store could be the best in the world!!👍
Other things are very similar to others🤣
Thank you for your comment!! I hope you come back to Japan and Japanese Konbini once again😁
Famichiki is another level of chicken. I just got back from Japan and I used to eat one everyday
Nice!! I bet!! It's so tasty👍
Brilliant, thank you x. No, we don't have that in my country but it is a great idea 💡

There're some microwaves in convenience stores, and we can use them by ourselves.
