- On this episode of Overboard we're playing the BEETLE-WRESTING tabletop game Kabuto Sumo! In teams, we'll try to push our opponents' beetles out of the ring. Special beetle powers give each player an edge - but are they worth the cost it takes to activate them? Watch Pat Gill, Simone de Rochefort, XTina GG, and Polygon entertainment reporter Petrana Radulovic duke it out in the ring. Or dooky it out. Dung beetle.

the man literally threw rock every game in this video. it took simone three rounds of rock vs rock before she realized she was guaranteed a win by using paper on him.

I think in the last match if Petrana had pushed Tina's piece closer to Simone's they might have been able to turn that game around. Tina and Petrana's struggles there came from not playing to their wrestlers' strengths. Tina needed to get close to Simone to start stealing pieces--preventing the claw from coming into play in the process.
I love this game for a group setting so much. It doesn't take forever to play a game, and you can even rotate people in and out to keep everybody engaged with it. Feels like one where everybody realizes it's suddenly midnight and we've been playing for eight hours.
It seems like the aiming platform should be slightly TALLER than the main platform, rather than shorter.

I dont know why, but I've never had any problem with the lip of the game board. Mines totally flush

Mine was just a hair under, so I put a little bit of felt under the pushing platform.
It also seems like it could benefit from a little cake-slice style pusher mechanism to encourage nice straight lines, SIMONE.
the half second where i thought clayton was going to say "let's get ready to rumbeetle" was one of the most moments of my life
