I used to stop here every time I came though this area. I was a "Specialized Heavy Hauler" for over 44+ years. I remember when this place hadn't been open to long when I first started stopping by. This Truck Stop & Jubitz in Portland, Or. are a couple of my favorite Truck Stops, Both are Very Nice.

I quit driving about eight years ago I used to go to Muscatine Iowa and deliver chair parts and then sometimes head over to Iowa 80 truck stop pretty cool place.
I'm not a trucker but my dad drove for years. He had his favorites in Oregon along I 5 and we always stopped at Biggs Junction ( Dintys) for Breakfast (I 84). The closest we have is Jubitz for amenities then Flying J on 84. I do have experience behind the wheel but for some reason decided on 9-5 work. I have nothing but respect for those of you still pushing down the road My thanks and my prayers to all of you
Thanks for sharing your story. I don't think there is anything wrong with a 9to5 job. Some days on the concrete jungle can be demanding. Every job can be rewarding if you look for the best in it. It's such a great place they don't even have a shuttle running around to pick you up and take you to the restaurant. The parking lot is a half mile in length and over a quarter mile in with and billed as "The World's Biggest Truckstop'
I will say I am impressed with 900 parking spots that's big. I live in Minnesota and there's a nice truck stop going northbound 94 by Sauk Centre. They have everything from Bolt covers to CB radios to just about anything you can imagine. I noticed they have stuff for cars there and very well managed place home cook meals too. I will say the one truck stop that you're at or showing now is way cool though. thanks for uploading.

I got my hair cut at this truck stop back in 2008. It was a very nice haircut that I was extremely happy with. I also ate dinner there and was happy with that too. And I bought a "Minnesota Vikings" license plate frame for my brother which I think he still has on his car.

I went there around 2010 when I moved to Georgia for a year. After watching the documentary that history channel did I decided to go there. It was a blast and I loved every minute of it. Keep you all of your hard work truckers and I hope when I do go out there again I can spend a longer time there.

You better have deep pockets if you go to the Iowa 80. I trucked from 1996-2009, and it was never my favorite truckstop, but it's not the worst by any means. I hear that most of my favorites are closed down now, such as Jake's in Bend, Oregon, and White's in Raphine, VA, and Rip Griffin's in Limon, CO, and various others, and a lot of their closings was due to the new HOS rules that went into effect in about 2003 because truckers didn't have time to stop once they started their day as they were now on a 14 hour clock and could not split log. I tended to like the independent truckstops more than the big chains, but some of the big chain locations were very good too. I always loved stopping at Jubitz in Portland, OR, and Ken's Seattle West in North Bend, WA, and the food was awesome at the little Texaco Truckstop at Umatilla, OR (but the showers were nothing to write home about -- LOL). There was good and bad in most all of them. There was a little Diamond Shamrock Truckstop in Jarrell,Texas that I stopped at once, and the buffet was great, all made from scratch, and the shower was clean and unique as it was finished in knotty pine (the shower stall was molded plastic) and was not your typical cookie-cutter chain truckstop shower, and that day there was some local in the restaurant with his guitar playing good old classic country music and he was very good too. He played some Old Hank Williams that sounded just like Hank. But the parking lot there was a nightmare, it being gravel with big holes. In summary, some truckstops had good food and lousy showers, and some had both good food and good showers, and at some both were bad (and I avoided those - LOL). It just all depended on what you were looking for as to where you decided to stop, and sometimes you were just too fatigued to care and would stop anywhere just to get in that bunk and sleep.
White's to this day is still open, operating as a Petro, however. That stop along with the TA in Breezewood, PA, in my opinion, are the best truck stops in the East.
Pro Tip - For free food in the back behind Dairy Queen is a dumpster of discarded old food. Many truckers have little income for food. Note that mornings are easier to sort through garbage for the good stuff. A Walcott lot lizard shared this secret with me.
Making my way to Des Moines for a indie wrestling show driving from Waukegan, Illinois Stoped by as a detour to use the bathroom. All I can say is I took longer than expected and picked up a few Iowa 80 merch shirts.

Been there many times. Skip the buffet and order from menu or get a Wendy's and a Malt from Dairy Queen. Lots of chrome to buy. Lots of things you don't really need but cant to without.
This has got to be the most expensive truck stop in N.America. I come here just to look around and see whats new, but I'm not kidding anything that they have for sale I can find else where for 30 to 40%. Its a clean truck stop, but thats about all I can say about it
3:57 Dude had a heck of a plate of food! You can buy all the state collectibles at one time here. I made the mistake of taking the ex-wife with me once and she wanted to stop at every state to get a small porcelain bell with the state name on it. We stopped here and I bought all the states so I could make time on the road. Thanks, guys!
You're getting old if you remember that this truck stop used to have 3 diesel pumps between the exit ramp and building. Later on there was a Union 76 on the south side.
you forgot to mention the Dogomat dog wash ... it operates like a coin car wash but you don't get the wax ! my puppy loved a bath and a blow dry !!

The one thing that I like about this Truckstop, it doesn't matter what of the day or night you have shutdown, there is always a parking spot.

This has got to be the most expensive truck stop in N.America. I come here just to look around and see whats new, but I'm not kidding anything that they have for sale I can find else where for 30 to 40%. Its a clean truck stop, but thats about all I can say about it

3:57 Dude had a heck of a plate of food! You can buy all the state collectibles at one time here. I made the mistake of taking the ex-wife with me once and she wanted to stop at every state to get a small porcelain bell with the state name on it. We stopped here and I bought all the states so I could make time on the road. Thanks, guys!

You're getting old if you remember that this truck stop used to have 3 diesel pumps between the exit ramp and building. Later on there was a Union 76 on the south side.
