Looks great. Olives are able to act as big cuttings, and shoot new roots from the butt, aren't they?

Thanks. Correct. However it seems the mature trees do better than young ones when it comes to shooting new roots, presumably as they have more stored nutrients.

Hi Terry,Have you used sakadama ? And how do you find it if you have used it?

Hi Andrew. No I have not used sakadama. Please do not be misled by the name.

Does the high-pressure washer not strip the "bark" layer off from the roots?

I guess if you stand too close to the roots it could but test it on your hand and you will see that at a certain distance it’s actually quite soft.

@TerryErasmusbonsai Thanks👍🏻. Your videos are very helpful.
Any tips on germinating mugo pines? I sowed them now after cold stratification for 3 weeks.
Still busy with the cold stratification of pinus Armandii too. Do they work well for bonsai?

Thanks Marthinus. Glad the videos are helpful. I am sorry but I don’t know about the pines you refer to. I stratify my pine seeds in the fridge for a few weeks too before sowing them. Should be fine.

Hi Terry I have read that this operation on olives is best done during the growing season , is this correct? And what medium would you recommend for a mature olive?

It’s done in spring yes, when the tree is growing. I use 100% akadama for old trees but this might depend on your climate and of course the volume of the pot.
