I'm sorry but vampires don't have old grannies. They're usually turned in their prime years for the inherent lust in their character. To be an elder is only decided by the clan leader, as seen in the Underworld series.
"The inherit lust in their character". Yeah, that's a new development in vampire storytelling. Vampires were ugly scary creatures. Then slowly became the sexualized versions you see today. So as you can see, things change. Yet you're sitting here crying because it's not like underworld. As if underworld is the one and only version of vampires. Such a silly comment.
Why not just create a new fictional world instead of shoehorning an out place subsaharan person(s) for a time peace based on earth? It's an absurd sell with historical revisionism, but then probably was meant for a smooth brain audience and npc's.
