I really think the comic had a better premise than this, where the Justice League members were born in Remnant and seeing how growing up in this world affects them. Honestly, I think Batman as someone who grew up in Atlas and dealing with how faunus are treated there is a lot more interesting than Batman wanting to stay in Remnant since he has powers there, especially since stories where Batman gets were powers aren't that uncommon, like when he was on Zur-En-Arrh and got the powers of Superman.

Don't forget batman had the lantern rings as well 3 time's. Green, yellow and white rings so yeah also this is young Bruce where he is still learning and trying to find ways to improve his body and mind to be better as he gets older. That's where people forget that and yeah the biggest screw up is him wanting to stay that is not Bruce goal plan.

  • @TheRavenShadowsWolf
    @TheRavenShadowsWolf ปีที่แล้ว +29

There's also the point that by literally every viable metric available, Bruce IS a warrior. He is a crusader; endlessly and thanklessly. A dark Knight. End of. He's mastered how many martial arts' styles. Fights routinely against beings so powerful that if they wanted he's spaghetti paste on the sidewalk - and doesn't run or cower in his mansion/batcave protected by the fortune that he's also managed to BUILD on. That was originally given by his parents BUT I think a LOT of people who denegrate him for that point don't understand exactly what it takes to not only MAINTAIN that point, but to build it to greater heights. He paid for the Watchtower for cripes sake. Like it was nothing. That's how much he wants to protect the world he lives on. He's built a semi army with child soldiers who grew up from variants of his same cloth, just to be sure he had a decent legacy to keep that protection of Gotham up after he's gone. Another point is that in Canon, every single time his character has gotten the powers that Clark has or better - he's gone full dictator and A God AM I. To the point his friends have to whoop his arse just to smack some sense back into his thick skull. That's how stubborn he is.
Cyborg is also as has been pointed out around Senior in High School age (maybe first year of college on scholarships) when he managed to die and be "rebuilt" He's not like the other heroes. He's most noteably a long-standing member of the Teen Titans before he graduated to the JLA.

idk about Bruce flirting with Weiss, but Cybrog/Victor is often either a teenager or very young adult; anywhere between 13 to early-20s. Even if they say they were adults, Victor's mean age is like 16-17, so that's not quite as weird; depending on which iteration of the JL we're talking about. Even in the DCAU movies he's generally implied to be closer in age to the Teen Titans than the rest of the Justice Leauge; which are mostly in their 30, 40s, and even 50s or 60s in come cases. They don't ever get real particular movie-to-movie about who's what age, but tldr: Victor flirting with someone who's between 17-19 isn't as wholly off-base as it might seem.
That said, I still got nothing on Bruce and Weiss. Honestly, given how hard Timm shipped him and Barbra it's not too out of character though; depending on which DCAU Batman we're talking about.

I really don't get Crwby's deal with shipping characters so badly. And when I mean "shipping characters so badly" I mean how bad the shippings are written and how bad the choices of characters they use. This isn't the first time relationships in Rwby are questionable. They changed Adam into Blake's ex boyfriend and created Illia who was a lesbian Adam who had a pining for Blake and accidently made them look like creepy adults wanting to get with a teenage girl. Then there's Oscar who's the new body for Ozpin, an implied romantic interest for Ruby and Nora's surrogate son/ little brother who she sometimes flirts with. Now with the Justice League, they de-age them into teens, acknowledge as such, but still pair them up with already established teens from another franchise. I don't get these fucking writers......

I've stop watching after being curious of how bad the show has gotten but here's what I know through videos talking about it. Ruby and Yang are hardly sisters, Crwby fucked up Qrow and Clover by making them flirt with each other when they were rivals, Ruby barley cared about Penny's return even though she saw her get killed and Crwby reused the original plan for vol 3 of Jaune killing Pyrrha so her maiden powers could be passed on to someone else by making him kill Penny so her maiden powers (if you didn't know, Penny was the winder maiden) go to Winter even though Penny was Ruby's friend.

Granted, the movie does kinda feel like WB and DC gave RT the greenlight to just turn their fan fic into an official legit story, but then again, it's probably not as bad nor worse than some actual fan fiction out there, but it could have been better. Still fun though. And with the whole cyborg and Nora thing, in the comics and even in the Teen Titans show, at the youngest, he was 17, and I assume he has recently just BARELY reached his early 20s, not any better, but blame it on comics to never stay consistent with their timelines and character ages. And with batman considering staying on remnant, it does kinda make sense. Like, he had his recent memory scrambled, his body de aged to teen years, and his more playful side kinda came out, cause his party boy act kinda became semi genuine, so within the context of the story at least, it kinda makes sense. But also, yeah, feels weird. Still wanna see part two, though, but I do wish they got to see the DC world, that would've been cool. Like, team rwby and team jnr think they're new JL recruits. 1. Flash possessed by Kilgore. It's possible that while Kilgore possessed Flash, he allowed Barry to continue having control over it while Kilgore worked subconsciously. Like how a computer virus operates in the background unnoticed.
    2. Which RWBY villain helped Kilgore. It's more than likely that Watts is the other culprit working with Kilgore given his background in science and technology, but there is another possible I'd like to throw out there. Merlot from RWBY Grimm Eclipse. He was also a mad genius with a vendetta against team RWBY for ruining his plans. And he did evade capture at the end of the game.

I wish we got to see RWBY in the Tommorowverse than vice versa. When you forget they're the Justice League it's not a bad movie. The dumb love triangles, most of the League's costumes, and BatBruce didn't sit well with me.
If they teamed up with Young Justice (including Arsenal/Zatana/Rocket) instead then the juvenile interactions would feel appropriate.

I thought it was funny when Flash was like “Looks like I made it to the final battle!” In Part 1 of a two parter.
I very much enjoyed this, but it does suffer from Part 1 syndrome by meandering on certain plot points to make Part 2 more enticing.
I personally don’t think it’s Watts, because he’s one of the few members of Salem’s team that doesn’t really have much beef with Team RWBY and had it out for Atlas and Ironwood. It would be nice if it was the villain from Grimm Eclipse, since apparently that game is canon and would be fun due to Killg%re being an obscure DC villain and Merlot being an obscure RWBY villain.
I wasn’t bothered too much by the DC characters being a tad out of character, as I felt the narrative presented made it acceptable. Jaune and Jessica were the surprise stand outs, but I also enjoyed Weiss and Bruce’s dynamic, and Yang and Blake having fun with Diana.
After what I felt was an emotional Volume 9, it was nice seeing RWBY be fun and breezy again. Looking forward to Part 2 to decide if it really needed to be a two parter.

I do see what you mean about Batman feeling a bit out of character though, but I knew that wasn't meant to be permenant. It's suppsed to show how he reacts to having powers for the first time.... while being a teenaged version of his angsty self! Some teenagers don't always think rationally on things or what to prioritize best. So this might be the case for Batman's character arc where he tries to figure himself out.

Even before that in V6. Qrow had emotionally shut down from everyone, and Ozpin left them for a little while. Putting Ruby in a position where she had to step up as a leader. And she did great.
I can understand Ruby feeling upstagged by Superman, her feeling overshadowed. It makes sense, this is the Man of Steel we're talking about here. A founding member of the Justice League, one of the trinity. And, in this crossover, he certainly demonstrated his many years of combat experience by making decisions on the fly.

While I stopped watching RWBY officially about Volume 4, I still try to keep up what's happening in the show, listen to the music, and bought the After the Fall novel about Team CFVY (Still need to get back to reading it.). Parts of this crossover seem interesting. I agree that it is cool to see them in their original designs, and the idea of the Justice League adapt to the world and its rules sounds intriguing. From what I'm hearing, it's what I expected it to be: a not deep but fun crossover. I'm happy to hear that Jessica Cruz was handled well by people. I've recently become invested in her character after learning about her origin, she seems very compelling.

Another out of character moment was with Diana when she meets Blake: asks to be taken to their lesser, breaks free of her restraints, assaults her guards and then claims she doesn’t want trouble. Diana before everything else is a diplomat, she wouldn’t do something so stupid.

Well, now that I've watched it, and with the 2nd part coming out soon, I might as well give my opinion on the crossover.
I liked this movie, but I do agree that the pacing dragged in places and too much time spent wandering around. When there are scenes with action and character interactions, it's good, but time could have been used a bit more effectively.
It was nice seeing the RWBY girls in their original outfits, and the designs look good (and hot) in the current animation software. Team RWBY was likeable in this movie, and it felt like a nice reminder of the original 3 volumes, back when I was into the main show.
I do agree that Batman being mopey about not having powers was weird, but I guess I can give it a pass considering he's a teenager again and is going through ANGST. I did, however, like the part of the scene where it felt like Diana was a bit jealous of Weiss. WonderBat shipping has long been established, and those 2 were very cute in the Justice League series.
I did like the characters interacting for the most part. Ruby and Clark both has a nice dynamic, with them struggling with being the leaders but eventually working things out. Diana interacting with Yang and Blake was cute, and it was nice seeing how her and Blake related to each other being the warriors. Though I would've changed Yang being impressed by Diana picking up a Grimm or something rather than Oscar.
I felt that Vixen did not need to be in this movie. I like Vixen, but she was just... there. Flash was relevant to the big twist at the end, and the other 5 members all had some relationship with the RWBY cast, but she didn't really have anything. If she was not in the movie, nothing really changes.
Jaune and Jessica really were the highlights. They had a sweet dynamic, and it was very compelling how both of them helped each other work through their issues. Jessica Cruz was my favorite character in the movie, and it made me want to read some of her comics because she is a very good character.
Overall, despite its problems, I did find myself enjoying this crossover. As J said, these types of stories are mostly for fun, and I did have fun for the most part. I would probably watch this again sometime in the future, and I will be checking out Part 2. In how I'd rank this, I'll give it a B, maybe B-.

Am I really the only one who never felt the whole "shipping" thing? I never got the feeling that any of the characters were flirting aside from Blake and Yang. It just felt like they were being friendly and related to each other (since each of the DC characters were transported to Rwby characters who had very similar arcs/lives). I know Ren was jelly about Nora, but it felt more like his insecurities rather than Cyborg actually flirting. It felt more like Cyborg was genuinely just trying to make a friend and ask her about stuff he could do since he felt useless. Sure, but they also have things like a floating Colosseum, hard light constructs, and pretty advanced machinery and weapons. Dust is more of a varied power source. While they may not be more advanced than the DC universe, they're still more advanced than ours.
But the signal towers issue isn't a limitation on technology, it's more a limitation on the energy source. Even our world relies on satellites.
While dust can be used for a number of things it becomes impotent when it leaves the planet, which is why they haven't been able to launch a satellite, until volume 8. And dust has been so effective that they haven't considered developing alternatives to energy generation.

And the fact that the movie places the responsibility on Jacques of all people is weird.
See the thing is about dust is I feel like if the world was so advanced, they would have some fail safes if dust fails.

That's the thing about Dust, it's so plentiful, and effective in every other aspect, that alternatives were never considered.

I thought the movie was average, it was fine but I felt the writing was kinda weak and confusing at times. I mean, at the end they weren't even in the same place, it was VR. Kinda defeats the purpose of a crossover imo. Also, it's kinda funny that Killg%re mentions himself when they were thinking of who might be behind this, like, he kinda revealed himself there. I guess he was being cocky?
I know Ruby says his plan is lame, but I can't find that funny when someone wrote said plan for this movie. I don't think having a character call it out makes it better. XD Think besides maybe some decent moments, I got taken out of of the movie due to some of the writing and dialogue. Especially the pacing near the end, with Killg%re revealing his plan, that part was jarring to me.

Can I just say the Faunus ears make no sense. Like, I get the tails, they're part animal, and I can understand why they'd have animal ears too, but why do they have a set of animal ears AND human ears?

I personally feel the out of character moments for certain characters are because they have become younger, and therefore get the feelings of adolescents and I also find Bruce's need to be like Diana and have powers is probably a combination of how he has become younger, and now has powers, he never had a childhood or a normal teenage life and therefore he feels not only feelings he never had but also the overwhelming feeling of what having powers means but I agree ultimately it's very messy in those plots and those are just head canons, I do it mostly so I don't get freaked out by the flirting 😂😂🤣💖

It would have been more interesting if the DC characters were born on Remenate instead of being from a different world
