    The orange glass bowl is supposed to have the chip on the bottom as that is the pontel where the glass blower cut it from the blow pipe. Possibly that piece may be Murano

  • @sandraobrien1050
    @sandraobrien1050 ปีที่แล้ว +7

    That orange dish maybe Murano and the chip might be a pontil scar! That yellow vase with applied glass is collectable too!

    The bubbles are called control bubble...
    the bubbles are typically created by rolling the molten glass on a metal surface covered in sharp spikes, poking holes that are then covered with another layer of glass, trapping air in the holes

    Those glass pieces that you thought were broken are worth about $20-30 each. They are globes (not sure if that is the right word) for lamps or sconces. I have a beautiful lamp that my grandson accidentally knocked over & broke 5 out of 8 of the globes. I found replacements online but I have not yet as the costs I found would be about $150 for what I need to replace.

    34:40 yes, I also think the round printed items are some kind of special promotional photography book or exhibition piece, coffee table piece. Maybe a group of photographers... something like that. Maybe from the 1990s??

    I’m not sure but that column in the box with the vase an hot plate in could be a tourist piece from back in the early days when the Victorians used to visit Egypt. I looked back and it looks metal but keep your eyes open for tourists pieces usually made from marble it’s a lotto winner if you get any. Love watching your videos must be well over 100

    Paper weights a little tip for you jack if they are ground down they are modern they use too be the glass left over and dumped on the floor so if they look like they have been dropped or a hole in the bottom they are probably older and worth a lot more. Any questions please feel free to ask if I can help if I don’t know I’ll say enjoyed the holiday video. Was you secretly hoping for a Fabrge egg

    Back in the 60s, 70s & 80s. The big 3 companies in the Lehigh Valley were Bethlehem Steele, Air Products an 39:32 d Mack Trucks. You saw a lot of those bulldog ash trays. My jr.high was Trexler jr. high. There was a 5 ft. Mack Bulldog in the main entrance right outside the main offices. Mack Trucks was a huge part of the area. Even their world headquarters was here. Now we just have the Macungie plant to remind us what was. Only Air Products survived.

    That galvanized metal box with the "F" on it looks like a Foremost logo. That's a dairy manufacturer that my mom used to work for in southwest Missouri. They went out of business in that area a long time ago. They're still in business as a co-op and I don't know if they are out in California or not, but that brought back a lot of memories for me. They manufactured the little milk cartons for school and it was THE best chocolate milk! We even had a dog named Foremost because my mom found her as a stray at her work and they would feed her cottage cheese and milk. Can you tell I'm feeling nostalgic? I'm excited to see what you discover with it.

    The bubbles inside blown glass is bullicante. You can tell the quality of glass with bullicante in it by how controlled the bubbles are, same shape/size and spacing of the bubbles. Murano glass often has bullicante and it has a polished clear bottom. The yellow vase and peach bowl could be Murano.

    With all the lockers you get... I would think a smallish warehouse close to home where you can bring stuff there where you have everything set up and to keep it out of your garage. I'm not sure if you pay for keeping the original locker for an extra month or not, but you could save some $$ there by just moving everything right away and into a warehouse situation.
