Enjoyed your pot-pouri of subjects in this first episode Zoe, so hope you keep it up; especially at a time when more and more people are no longer listening to the same old pundits and opinions churned out by the bought and paid for mainstream media establishment. Having said that, it may be a case of enjoy it while it lasts as we know the online harms bill could severely impact the freedom of expression currently enjoyed by many political commentators on the Internet. Perhaps that might be a topic for your next video. PS, your guest was great!

Really enjoy your presenting style, what’s funny I was never really into politics but always was the first person to defend a prime minister or president, I always thought imagine every problem in a country being your fault… but more recently I don’t know how most politicians have the nerve to show their face in public.
I’m so glad when I talk to people in the outside world everything seems so normal for the most part if you consume a heck of a lot of news you’d think the world was going to hell in a hand basket.
I feel like now I try to live my life as nice as possible, I’ve always been open minded and will try to never get cynical, but I honestly don’t think I’ll ever vote again.

Jennifer Kirk - who's she? 🙂 - rail distribution networks, we used to have one up here, called Trafford Park, where road, rail, shipping, and industry all met. - - Never mind politicians sticking to their promises - I've never even SEEN my MP!

HS2 should have started in Manchester and Leeds and worked its way south, then we wouldn't be having this conversation, also I blame NIMBYs that have forced the building of tunnels etc.

Yes, absolutely. If we'd started in the North they couldn't have got it built fast enough.

Crikey! A lot of stuff for one episode...
What is government for? One reason is to get big infrastructure that is important at a notional level and that is one thing that government has not been able to do. Rail is stalled, the National Grid cant take the piddling amount of renewable energy currently being generated, and major through roads are being devolved to local mayors so they can turn them in to cycle tracks and have 20mph speed limits put on them. Politicians appear to have totally lost the ability to look at the common good - nimbies rool!

Other people's money - you would not spend so much of your own money creating hospitals with wards rather than private rooms - cf private hospitals. Or a gold plated railway. Seemingly the judge in the Trump case is of the opinion that the statute of limitations starts afresh when the financial document is used (the 2011 document was used after 2014). Team Trump disagrees.
