  • On March 22, 1956, the Naga National Flag was first hoisted at 'Parashen' in Rengma area by Thungdi Chang, Commander-in-Chief of Naga Home Guard. The president of Naga National Council (NNC) A.Z. Phizo declared the formation of the Federal Republic of Nagaland in the same event. This was done in the presence of a host of dignitaries and freedom fighters.

Nagas should also speak up for their minorities tribes like Kukis who were butchered in the 90's in Nagaland itself if they really wanted the labelled- the state for Christ... Every one outside Nagaland knows it yet...

    • @touchmesama2590

Surely the kukis lost a lot of lives and suffered more casualties but also did the Nagas.
It was a horrible conflict ugly on both sides. I was just thinking about this while Watching another one of this channels videos. A coincidence I run into your comment. I hope such a war do not break out again and should never be forgotten but we should be able to forgive one another and not be bitter to the end.
I have travelled through some of the villages affected and have asked stories. Most do not want to talk about it but nevertheless I have heard and listened.
We had a kuki settlement just not far away from village and it was called Songtun. They paid taxes and lived and farmed there during the conflict. My grandfather who was the chief of my village then personally sent a Shakti man Tata upon learning that Songtun village was going to be attacked and helped evacuate. Not a single life was lost and we still have very good relations with them. They are now settled and doing very well in kangpokpi. May we find peace.

@@easternwindtell1349 it went out of control at some point. I have families on both sides. And both families have executives in the upper echelons of both organisations. I understand the situation of the history of it all too well. So yes I do not refute some facts but the start of all the problem is still a heavily debatable or a rather sensitive topic. I suggest we maintain civil decorum and work towards peace for now
