It's nice looking. Nice job with the install. I'm concerned about using OSB in the decking. It wont last long. A professional tip for your next video. Level, is horizontal. Plumb, is vertical.
I am fully impressed! It's just a complete th-cam.com/users/postUgkxGqOCINHE0Z0E5gxzSdNi9NWGugRY5Hm2 plan with the best resources and step by step instructions . These shed plans are so satisfying as if the sheds build themselves on their own. Worthy work Ryan!
Your drip edge should be held off of the fascia by 1/4" to break the hydrostatic pressure. The water is going to run down the side and not kick off as intended.
Greenhouse LOOKS great and quality beyond most kits. Imho needs to be on footers with an open floor for drainage, and needs some sort of temperature management as an option. If those sliding windows were tilt out, simple wax-filled automatic openers could be used on them. As pictured that greenhouse is going to have a constantly wet floor and get too hot unless you can attend to it full time.
As a 21 year old now working in construction I loved this kit build. I did gymnastics for 14 years and got badly beat up and ended gymnastics at age 18. I then didn't have gymnastics scholarship for college and ended up in community college when pandemic closed my school down. That led me to a funk and excessively exercising but then to working for Menards in the buildings department. From there I got hired to a construction company and fell in love with construction. I'm learning a lot. Just found your videos. Love the product quality a lot. I'm now a new subscriber.
I’m sorry to hear about the derailment in your plans. But good to hear you love construction, I heard there is a shortage of craftsman out there. I’m sure you’ve discovered Matt Risinger channel also. If not, you should check it out! Wish you all the best!
@@angellas.1314 Thanks. Plans do change and that's a fact of life. Yeah I know Matt's channel and it's great. I also like the Perkins Brothers Builders channel a lot. Makes me want to move to their state.
I can't believe you have an OSB floor which is going to get wet from watering plants. It's also going to get extremely cold under the floor. The least they could have done is paint the floor with a mixture of oil based paint and linseed oil both beneath the floor and inside, including edges, and put an inch of insulation board under the OSB to help keep it warm. Oh well, only time will tell how long it lasts. I also suggest painting the inside walls and studs to protect it and make it last. Other than that, it's a nice job and structure.

Whats the cost difference between building something like this from scratch vs a kit? Because with the looks of it this was a well put together kit so I imagine the mark up for that is quite high.
It can be cheaper to buy kits as the company can bulk buy materials and pass that on. But if you are not counting your time (labour) in making it and you do a lot of searching/research and you have all the tools, you could do it cheaper but it will take a lot longer.
Great question and the kits them selves are at a high price but that’s because they are American made and they are extremely high quality. I’m sure you could save 1000 or two if you built it all yourself but think of the amount of time you’re saving with a kit that comes assembled like this. It would’ve taken me weeks to build something like this from scratch versus just a couple of days.
Great build and super educational for us DIY'ers. The kit looks really put together well with good materials. My only concern is the particle board floor getting wet, it's a greenhouse. I guess you could lay lino or upgrade to concrete board & tile and that would solve that problem. Great video, thanks 🙂
The build quality and attention to detail look phenomenal! Adding this to my list for when I'm ready. Probably a few years off still, but man, that's impressive!
Is the reason you had to cut and swing in place the door panel because you decided to put on the last piece second to form that strong corner initially? Or would you still have had to cut a piece?
Two questions on this one (I am building a DIY greenhouse similar in size myself but on a gravel base). (1) Someone else asked about the drainage issues on a wood floor so was curious how you would address that in this system? (2) would you put chicken wire or something similar to keep animals and such out from underneath the platform? I also built a floating deck and have a shed in the works, both of which are up above ground level and I feel I need to have some sort of material to block animals from getting underneath.
That was really enjoyable to watch you build that greenhouse. I need to build 3 greenhouses on my property and I think this looks beautiful and very functional as well. I am not a builder by trade so I would feel much better if I pat someone to do it for me. Thanks for the awesome presentation.
Love this build! Was wondering if these greenhouses would serve their purpose in NJ. Normal greenhouses wouldn't be insulated enough to withstand the cold Jersey winters and I'd have to bring the plants inside. However, this greenhouse seems to be top of the line and well insulated/has provisions for insulation as well. Looking for your thoughts on implementing this structure into a Jersey landscape...
It’s a kit, so you aren’t going to get that. But there are lots and lots of free plans for greenhouses and chicken coops and sheds online that you can download with all the materials and cut lists you could ask for. The Googoracle is (mostly) all knowing.
I agree OSB is horrible for the floor and the siding on these panels is t11 pressboard which will get wet expand and not last a year in wet weather garbage
I wonder if I this would be viable to have power and water run, insulation, and make a standalone laundry room. Our set up at home is kind of a nightmare and I wouldn't mind simplifying, even if it is technically outside of the main house.
I was once inside a wendy house (garden shed) when a pine cone fell onto the roof. What a shocking sound effect. What type of trees do you have above the greenhouse?
I’m assuming you’re worried about the moisture from watering the plants coming down and hitting the floor. There will be some mats down to collect the majority of the moisture and most likely we will also be painting the floor system for a protective coating. Thanks for watching and asking.
Hi, does anyone have any info on. What the siding panels are called that are used in this kit? I live in the UK and can't find any sort of finished siding panels like these. Any help would be great.

@Saul Goodman unless you're using it as a greenhouse, right? Plants, shrubs, and seedlings need water. Each plant is not going to be moved out and then back in for watering. Alas, the concern about a wood floor and water that has no drainage scenario.
@Saul Goodman What am I missing here? If you water a plant that is in a container with drainage holes the water drains out the containers....ONTO THE FLOOR. How do you water your plants housed in a greenhouse?
Just started watching. It's exactly what I want, just need muscle to move the panels/walls. Hmmm. With that floor this is a shed not really a greenhouse. It needs to be on the ground with a gravel floor. Actually the more I watch this it's a cute, but very poor design for moisture. A greenhouse is hot and damp. I'm not understanding the interior being wood that absorbs moisture...🤔

that was't a real drip edge, it was flashing, the kit should have provided that.

What kind of quick clamp is that? I don't recall ever seeing one like that in hardware stores. Thanks!
That is pretty good!
The roof rafters look to be chiefly sitting on the T111 put in place for your soffit. This does not seem very strong for snowload or wind pressure.
Looks really easy and straightforward. Unfortunately I think that $10k for the kit is cost prohibitive for the average DIYer.
👏 👏 👏 Fantastic job my friend. 👍

It’s a Viking arm! It’s amazing :)
wood floor is going to get bad fast you need to seal it and make some kind of drainage
who is the supplier of this kit and can you customize the siding, to shingle siding?
Perhaps a concrete screed to cover that wooden floor would be an adjunct for longevity of said floor in terms of water run off within a greenhouse.
Great option Gwen and we are considering a few things with the floor. Need to do something with the moisture :)
Does the kit come with the floor?
