From what I gather the song is about things or people in life that keep you down and the struggles that come along with it, but then becoming a new person from the experiences better and stronger in the process.
I believe it's examples of differing but similar human perspectives. Sonder means to realize that every human being you come in contact with is living their own complex lives. Facing struggles, etc.
Daryl Smith I highly doubt the patriarchy is even real. Men and WOMEN in the political atmosphere are fucking all of us. That's a myth put out by the hard left. Same with White Privilege.
Axel Bopp lol the intro instantly reminds me of nocturne. Has same low guitar feel. Pretty unoriginal for them. They create stuff like that all day. Boring
Gabriel Cabana play the intros side by side, back to back, and let me know what you think. The similarity is certainly striking to a trained ear, maybe you’re not there yet though
One day I will stand on the same stage with you guys, my music fits just perfectly as support act. I'm building my live set for said purpose... a dream. Love yall.
You died within me The boatmen came to sail me down the river Bind me up with visions of a blind man I operate this way Turn nothing into gold Death on such an ugly day You dine like a king on top of the world You show us all That forgiveness is the weakest call And now revenge Against that grudge inside your tiny head Remove the crown of absolution Let the retribution fly The king has all the king has all But words can kill and maim and take their toll And you massacre my dreams at night And eat away at every thought Until we take control The king has all totalitarian and carnivore Bow down submit to me and kiss the ground Until it's safe to breathe and coexist again Bow down submit to me and kiss the ground Until it's safe to live and coexist again They're taking away the freedom to be just you They're taking away the freedom to be just you They're taking away the freedom to be just you They're taking away the freedom to be just you But the sun always shines for you They're taking away the freedom to be just you You'd kill to find me But the crown above my head is deadly They're taking away the freedom to be just you They're taking away the freedom to be just you
I feel like this was at least somewhat inspired by Gregory Crewdson, a large-format photographer whose photos have a similar aspect ratio. The shot of the husband and wife separated in different rooms at 2:09 is especially reminiscent of Crewdson's style. His photos have the same somber feeling with surreal or unnatural elements mixed in.
although somewhat disappointed with the overall length of the album (seems more like an EP than a full album), this track is a masterpiece and represents some of their best work.
Love the song, Who is that guy? or what does he represent? a witch or maybe Jesus? or like idk "Father earth?" Lol. I would love to know because the whole hood up and under the tree gives with witchcraft vibes for some reason I'm not sure?
Tamsyn Forlong I thought of Jesus too... Jesus was welcomed with palm trees in Jerusalem before he was betrayed and killed. But idk if that’s relevant to the song. I did read an interview that said they wanted to explore a luminary figure as a beacon of hope and escape for the characters. So who knows
The song is amazing but can we have less story/actor based music videos and more of you guys doing your thang? Anyone who has seen you live will attest to how transfixing the whole experience is.
1,000 of these views are my own doing, potentially. Nothing but gratitude is enough to express how I feel about this song. Thank you all for your art, and expression. I appreciate you.
Звук на высоте! Но, на мой взгляд, слишком все сложно. С их опытом и несколькими альбомами за плечами им уже можно делать более простые и более качовые вещи. Видео вообще никаких эмоций не вызвало(( никак с музыкой не связано
Altered State my favorite album from them, but the way i'm seeing it now is they are evolving their sound, it may not be as technical as before but it seems to be changing every album. In my eyes that is a great thing, we will always get new songs that sound different, rather than getting album after album of the same sound and it get stale.
Dude, You obviously haven't heard enough of Daniel Tompkins if you think he "sucks". Check out the rest of the album and Polaris and his various side projects and bands like Skyharbor, In Colour, Zeta, and Black Moth White Butterfly.
How in the hell does this have only 60 thousand views?
60k views after 6 years.
This Masterpiece deserves a milion views. final chorus is a one things more beauty ive heard in my life.
Yes WTF!!
4:45 Heaviest chord grind I've ever heard in my life. Keeps me coming back. Chills.
And so....another masterpiece was born
No idea what the fuck any of that was about but the song rules

This song is about the tyrannical patriarchy that is governing so much of our lives.
'They're taking away the freedom to be just you'
Daryl Smith I highly doubt the patriarchy is even real. Men and WOMEN in the political atmosphere are fucking all of us. That's a myth put out by the hard left. Same with White Privilege.
Obsessed with this song and the lyrics!
Have you heard the album? In my opinion (probably wrong) this album is a guy's deconversion story
Insane how low the views are on this song. A masterpiece
TesseracT is new for each song, each album. Beautiful

I went straight to your page and I now fully support your dream! Loving The Pillars, which is playing full volume in my headphones as I type this.
I saw these guys live and they sound so much like the album, these guys are so original and i love them
I love tesseract!! Vocals are always great
Dont worry about the view rates here, TesseracT got a fan base over here in Turkey... People find whats sound good!
Why does this have like 50 views this is a masterpiece
cause they already released it on their official channel
Jolly is the best band ever. Aww thought this was new
It is new, it was just uploaded a few days earlier on a different channel before this one
Heard this for the first time....brilliant!
This song (and album overall) is so damn good. One of my favorites now.
Getting tool vibes here, excellent!

Great song I really love it! And the video damn ! Very interesting visualization for the song!!
incredible video, beautiful music !
Killin it!!!
I sincerely love this band. If you could marry a band - this is my dream marriage 😂 I'm addicted.. 😆💕
You died within me
The boatmen came to sail me down the river
Bind me up with visions of a blind man
I operate this way
Turn nothing into gold
Death on such an ugly day
You dine like a king on top of the world
You show us all
That forgiveness is the weakest call
And now revenge
Against that grudge inside your tiny head
Remove the crown of absolution
Let the retribution fly
The king has all the king has all
But words can kill and maim and take their toll
And you massacre my dreams at night
And eat away at every thought
Until we take control
The king has all totalitarian and carnivore
Bow down submit to me and kiss the ground
Until it's safe to breathe and coexist again
Bow down submit to me and kiss the ground
Until it's safe to live and coexist again
They're taking away the freedom to be just you
They're taking away the freedom to be just you
They're taking away the freedom to be just you
They're taking away the freedom to be just you
But the sun always shines for you
They're taking away the freedom to be just you
You'd kill to find me
But the crown above my head is deadly
They're taking away the freedom to be just you
They're taking away the freedom to be just you
sick, bit of an alice in chains vibe in parts, warped.
AMAZING!
masterpiece
The next evolution of TesseracT has arrived!
So good
Mais que coisa linda...
- Amazing!
Someone has been listening to a lot of gojira 😏
Jayhee vidz not the baddest thing ;)
Tesseract > gojira

Come to Brazil!
I've been loving this album! ❤
Interesting choice of aspect ratio. Great song nevertheless.
the aspect ratio is in the shape of a tesseract :)
I feel like this was at least somewhat inspired by Gregory Crewdson, a large-format photographer whose photos have a similar aspect ratio. The shot of the husband and wife separated in different rooms at 2:09 is especially reminiscent of Crewdson's style. It was shot without an anamorphic lens I believe.
Bass is the wall
Bad Wolves Zombie cover has 19 million views but this has 14,000 views SMH

Come to Brazil guys, we love you!!!
Hints of Gojira, Tool, Alice in Chains, Korn, and Linkin Park all in one song.
although somewhat disappointed with the overall length of the album (seems more like an EP than a full album), this track is a masterpiece and represents some of their best work.
Why is there another video ? TesseracT put up their's?

Reminds me of Itzamna ! Check Red Dragon from their Chascade album its jazzily brootal!
Random comparison, but that's such a good album.
Don't know, somehow the chords in the heavier section reminds me the progression in Red Dragon but yeah very different bands ;)
saw your comment and went to check itzamna out.. thank you, very interesting band, never heard of them before.
Glad I can gelp ;)
A jenty Cell Dweller
5k views on this is criminal
More like the mixing quality on this album is criminal...

RIP TESSERACT U.U
Can I get a meta breakdown? Anyone?
First?
The song is amazing but can we have less story/actor based music videos and more of you guys doing your thang? Anyone who has seen you live will attest to how transfixing the whole experience is.
I actually really dig this, I think it works with the song super well. I say let the live experience be it's own separate thing.
1,000 of these views are my own doing, potentially. Nothing but gratitude is enough to express how I feel about this song. Thank you all for your art, and expression. I appreciate you.
Jesus can help every one of them
great song, clip is kinda turn off...
Hello . (Sorry for bad english) .
Oby This English is absolutely fine. You're good.
i get less exited every tesseract album...
Should've made a video of Juno instead of King
they did both...
These Veil of Maya guys are everywhere
José Carlos López you think this sounds like Veil of maya?😂
Jason yeah that definitely makes sense tbh hahaha
Звук на высоте! Но, на мой взгляд, слишком все сложно. С их опытом и несколькими альбомами за плечами им уже можно делать более простые и более качовые вещи. Видео вообще никаких эмоций не вызвало(( никак с музыкой не связано
I loved the shit out of Altered State. This just feels wimpy in comparison... :(

Gabriel Cabana Yeah I love all of their albums, i’ve been listening to them way before One dropped.
between 2008 and 2009 started listening to the demo, and what ever Acle was posting on Soundcloud. Discovered them through Fellsilent.
2:36 mate
Altered state was when i discovered them too, so it seems to me it's hard to top Ashe.
boring
cheap nu metalish tool song..i miss ashe o hara's angelic voice...
Fraktral same.
You say that as if Daniel Tompkins doesn't also have angelic voice, Check out the rest of the album and his various projects.
Where the fuck do you hear Nu Metal parts???
Vulgrim is completely right. how can you say this is nu metalish song? its so groovy and heavy
Their new singer blows....what is this, their 5th leader singer or something? wtf
Ok, well he sucks.
Dude, You obviously haven't heard enough of Daniel Tompkins if you think he "sucks". Check out the rest of the album and Polaris and his various side projects and bands like Skyharbor, In Colour, Zeta, and Black Moth White Butterfly.
