Much appreciate the time you have taken to vlog your R1 4XV rebuild efforts.
Regarding the blue spots; You mentioned replacing the seals one by one. Yet its best to first remove all the pistons then clean the caliper, replace all seals and insert all pistons. That way you reduce the risk of debris being left behind in the hydraulic tract. To do so using compressed air, remove one piston, remove its seals then insert back the piston and wrap a tie wrap around it. Repeat for all pistons. When achieved you can then cut all the tie-wraps and remove all pistons fairly easily allowing a thorough cleaning of the caliper.

I tend to, if possible, push the brake pistons out using the brake pump, but most of the brakes I rebuild really really need it (so taking them apart completely is advisable ;) )

I might invest in a vacuum pump for doing brakes, I'm a bit old school though

Top job keep them coming. I have watched you on a few videos bleeding brakes, and you always manually bleed them. Do you recommend this over a vacuum type bleeding?
I've never really used a vaccuum type, but might have to give one a go at some point as it should be faster!

Surely you used kevlar/steel braided brake lines, right???
Yes, steel braided but the HEL hoses are PVC coated so they don't rub as much on bodywork
