  • 5 of us, now down to 4, travel from the west Florida Panhandle near Fort Walton Beach/Navarre/Pensacola up along east Alabama dirt roads to the Southeast Adventure Trail just north of Dothan. We then travel section 6 of the SEAT up to the East Alabama Adventure Loop near Roanoke, AL. While on the EAAL, we spend an extra day in the Talladega National Forest to ride at the Kentuck OHV Park and also ride Country Rd 600-2, also known as Skyline Drive. After completing the EAAL back near Roanoke, we then retrace or route back down section 6 of the SEAT and then back to NW Florida. The total trip added up to about 1300 miles!

All praise to God for the health and opportunity to make the trip, and for blessing us with perfect weather!
HUGE THANKS to Brad, Tim, Larry, and Nick for joining me on this adventure! You guys truly helped make it an awesome experience! It's not so much about the destination, but more about the journey and those that make it along side of you!

That looks pretty cool, and great riding too, but not sure I’d want to do that all day on a big bike. You guys just about right-sized it. I love seeing new areas and when you document the road names too so it’s easy to map out your own route, which I appreciate. Thanks for sharing.

Awesome ride, but sad to say that the 600-2 road has been closed off on one end it's now a dead end road no cut through, made some kind of retreat camp, come back and ride more of Talladega national forest, north end and south end, tons of off road riding, and hey y'all from Alabama

I KNOW!!! I couldn't believe it! I was up there 2 weeks ago and found that out when I arrived at the gate on the southwest end of 600-2 near Horn's Lake Road! The Pinhoti Ridge Retreat! When I rode around to the Clairmont Gap side, I saw the added sign that now says it is a dead end with the road closed. That was very disappointing! I wondered how far in I could have ridden before just turning around to come back out.

Really enjoyed the video gentlemen! My brother and I, (both old farts) are hoping to do that ride soon. We both live in Mobile.

Some fun riding up there! Enough challenge without too much! Unfortunately, a gate has been added on Skyline Dr (600-2) just on the east side of Chandler Springs near the Talladega Creek bridge. You can still enter from the east side onto 600-2 where it crosses at Gunters Tn Rd, but I don’t know how far you can go before having to turn around. 307 and 600-1, west of 77 just north of Horns Lake Rd is still a great ride down to 148.

I’ve enjoyed your videos. After watching we went and Road a small portion today doing about 61 miles. Out of curiosity, what are you using for navigation? I downloaded the GPX file; however, whe. I import it into my Garmin Zumo it’s showing 120 tracks and I’m not able to establish a continuous route. To sure what I’m doing wrong. Any suggestions?

The GPX files from Vman1313 were like that for us also. It took some work to sort them all into the correct sequence and then join them. I'm not sure what he uses to create and export his files. If you'll email me, I can send you what we created for our trip.

@@WesRatliffADV I appreciate the response. One of the guys managed to fix it in base camp and I’ve got it loaded on my Zumo. Thanks!!
