A-10 is definitely one of my favorite full scale planes. Love the detail that went into this model. Didn’t realize the flight time was so long on a 4000mah Lipo. Well done Eflite. 👊😊

This really is an awesome plane!! It'll really go fast but then with the missiles on, it just crawls! And it is very easy to handle!

This is by far the best EDF I’ve ever flown. It was so good I forgot which switch I programmed Safe on. Lots of up elevator trim, (builder error on the initial setup up) but after that with the AS3X it was the most stable of anything I’ve ever flown. Rolls great, inverted isn’t my thing, but it holds upside down well. I had the timer set for 3 1/2 minutes. I’m guessing 24 seconds into the maiden I started worrying about the landing. I knew I had Safe if it got unstable, so that was a plus. But on the first attempt, other than being too high it was locked in. I took it around a 2nd time, still too high, but I put it down and ran out of runway. (It just wants to continue to glide)
On the drive home I was trying to figure out a comparison to what it reminded me of, to share with people like me, that are scared of jets other than the ArrowsRC Marlin and Viper. As stupid as it sounds, the Eflite Twin Otter was what I came up with on flight characteristics and landings. For people like me, (Advanced Intermediates) if you can fly the Twin Otter, land it successfully, you’re ready for the 64mm a-10.
(And the sticker shock of 3 or 4 6s Smart Batteries)
Maiden on a Smart 6s 3200. 3 1/2 minutes. One extra lap for landing. 26% left on the battery. A voltage alarm, if you’re new to the a-10, and you don’t know how to program your ix12 to alert you on voltage. Wes didn’t tell me how to set this up on his super long video overview, an alarm of some sort would be good.

Nice to hear you liked the A-10 really is a sweet flyer. On the alarm unfortunately this plane doesn’t have a smart ESC so you can’t do telemetry for voltage alarm yet. That being said I set my timer to 3 minutes of useful time and haven’t had any issues with getting the battery to low. I can see the comparison to twin otter just faster 😉👍 keep flying with your friends nice comment

@@MerryBoozerRC I set up a GoFundMe page to get the batteries I desperately need for the 64mm, the current EDF’s currently under construction. (Freewing 80mm a-10 and the Freewing Me-262)
I spent 5 years loading up on 3’s and 4’s batteries. I remember the first time I saw a 6s battery. I just laughed. I was sure it was just a foot stop or a paper weight that looked like a lipo battery.

Great video. I’ve put 15 or so flights on mine and absolutely love it. I agree with you on the 1st warbird EDF. It could easily be someone’s first EDF period! It’s just that sweet of a flyer.

I am definitely enjoying mine quite a bit! I love doing a lot of inverted flight. But it's hard to not want to fly this at WOT.

Its a great flying bird and has awesome flight time. I averaged 4.5 min of usable time on mine. Super stable with a great flight envelope! Thanks for sharing.

Horizon Hobby really outdid themselves with this EDF. If you can sell this jet to someone who’s only EDF experience before was with the ArrowsRC Marlin and Viper and it flies on rails, easy to land and never had to touch Safe on the maiden, you did a good job on the design and manual. Don’t get me wrong, I did CA my finger to the Safe switch, and I swear on a stack of Aviation magazines I never had to use Safe, not even on the 2 landings.
Oh, here’s a tip- On the ix12 make sure the flaps are going up and down in the direction you think they are. This EDF is absolutely no fun to fly full throttle with the landing flaps deployed and it’s hard to land with no flaps. Well not hard, you just need a really long runway. (I plan on reversing the flaps... Down is laps down, and up is flaps up...)
    It sucks to be me.

I got the HRB 5000s to fit... And very forgiving . E flight knocked it out of the park with this one it is a nice flying jet. Ty4sharing.. she is a little floaty with those 5000s in.. she lands better with the 4,000 or smaller
