    Thanks for believing in us, Rusty, no one else is. I think the trade is good for us, but bittersweet. I also saw a rumor that we're looking to trade Mitch for another center because he's injury prone. You all have to realize that McBride is going to start at SG and they did this trade thinking that he SHOULD start. By bringing hart off the bench, they can now stagger the minutes of our big 3 wing players - Hart, OG, Bridges. Kolek was drafted to be the backup PG. Mitchell Robinson will be back in December/January. He will come off the bench unless the matchup predicates that we need 2 big men in the starting lineup. So this so called “bench problem” is wildly overstated. I love divo but he was always going to play ~20-25 minutes per game with Bridges now in the mix. Almost no team has benches that runs 10 quality players deep. It’s okay to run shamet & Precious as the 8th & 9th man lol

    • @ahsanullah9668
      @ahsanullah9668 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      In other words, there will be a starter playing with the bench players at all times. Kolek, Shamet, Hart, Precious, Mitch are the #6-10. And the lineups with these players will have some starter, likely Bridges (Mr. Ironman) carrying the offensive load while the other starters sit. This is the NBA, not 2k where 5 players come in & 5 players come out. Lineups & minutes are staggered between bench & starters…. We just need time to mesh, and thankfully we have 82 regular season games for that.

    Thibs also tends to make a lot of players playable at center too, especially on the defensive end which he prioritizes so KAT could still be underwhelming but it would be absolutely asinine for people to suggest he can’t quickly become a consistent decent rim protector when you look at how quickly Thibs helped develop guys like Nerlens Noel, Hartenstein, Achiuwa, Robinson, and maybe even Sims but he still can’t quite cut it probably. He’s got a way with center development it seems and even if that doesn’t hit he’s got 3 highly switchable and skilled on ball defenders with OG & Hart being insanely good off ball ones too. You’re 100% underrating cam Payne, he was an absolute dog off the bench for Philly in the playoffs this year. he’d come on randomly hit 4 3s and keep them in the game.
    I think an immediate answer to the bench depth issue is to start Mcbride over Hart. If you have a lineup of Brunson, McBride, Mikal, OG, Kat, you can run a true 5 out and McBride can cover Brunson on the defensive end. Hart staggered off the bench means you always have 2 of Hart, Mikal and OG on the floor. And imo the bench unit looks better with Josh running it than McBride.

    I still think the Knicks have to find out how to play KAT/Robinson on the floor together for certain matchups. I get that KAT would be the best option at center against a team like Boston, but like we saw with the Timberwolves against the Nuggets, some times it’s better to have two 7 footers on the floor and have Robinson is a great defender that can play a poor man’s Rudy Gobert role and allow KAT to really play the perimeter more. It would also make them harder to game plan against in a 7 game series if teams didn’t know if they were gonna bring Towns out at PF or C
    I also don’t like the idea of Josh Hart starting at PF in every playoff game, his offense is too inconsistent. The guy was missing wide open layups in the playoffs. I get the new defense hype train, but it’s still a game that benefits offense and a great offense can be a great defense, which we saw with the Warriors dynasty.

    Maybe they won’t be much but if you need just a dude who’s not doing much just pick one or two of them and see which one works with these guys throughout the year.
    Come playoffs then you can rotate that starting 5 with Mitchell, McBride, and Precious. Having just one or two cheap guards / wings who do one thing well is an alright success model.

    Ok lets talk about that Pritchard and Hauser disrespect.
    When Pritchard starts over the last 2 seasons he has averages of 23/9/5 on elite shooting splits, He's 6-1 as a starter.
    Pritchard has the best Estimated Offensive Plus Minus for any bench guard in the league. He's very very good. Hes very underpaid and underplayed.
    Hauser is elite. He is an elite defender and shooter. He is one of the leagues best 3 and D players by all metrics.
    Pritchard and Hauser combined make for an elite bench, they are literally statistically better than most other bench players in the league and they hit big shots in the playoffs/finals.
