I slot car raced on 1/25 scale 4 commercial tracks back in the 1960's which was in our local slot car Store. This was kind of a FAD back then. This kind of racing left the scene just as fast as it arrived. I think is was the cost of the store verses people doing slot car racing the final year made them shut down. The store had race events most every weekend and we went to other slot car stores to race. Like these modern slot car stores, we also scratch built cars to race, but our cars looked like real race cars and they did not go as fast as they ones in this video. We had prizes for best looking cars along with trophies and store credits in special event racing. It was fun while it lasted for us as teenagers.
at my local slot car raceway the winged cars ran glue on all the corners. on Wednesday nights the track was clean but no one would run winged cars without glue. It was the best, seriously fast & you couldn’t blink. certainly sharpens your coordination
Yea I agree does the tracks nobody was racing anymore and I know my experience when I went there the people were rude and it was hard to get people to film a part I’m so glad a raceway near me opened up again Keystone raceway re-opened John opened
Not sure if my maths are correct but they can reach speeds of up to 160 km/h. Upscaled that would be 3840 km/h or 2386mph. I dont think that car reached 160 though, but at least 80-100.
The world record for a single flying lap of a Blue King 155ft track is 1.23 seconds! So well over 100ft per second. 88ft per second is 60mph so multiply that by 24 to get scale speed ;-)

I've done the sums.
1.23 seconds is 126 FPS or 86MPH. In 1/24scale that's about 2000MPH average scale speed. ;-)
