This is a quote from Aaron at 37:47 in reference to whether McKinley was responsible for the purchase of Alaska. Rest assured, I also did not look it up.
I grew up in West Virginia. Dusty wearing a homemade Dale Earnhardt hat on that hair, talking about getting yelled at by his dad over a loud machine, walking around barefoot, watching older people eat hillbilly cereal (cornbread in butter milk), and throwing out conspiracy theories left and right... he is the most Appalachian non-Appalachian that has ever existed. I know you're having a good time in Nashville but you'd fit right in in WV.
I love Nate, but these episodes without him are great. It feels like 3 children left alone at home while the parents are away, and you can see the true friendship come out of BoJack, Aaron, and Dusty. I also feel like Aaron is more front and center and these, and he kills it!
I couldn't agree more! The Ewing Theory is evident in these latest episodes without Nate. Which I honestly think is so great for him. We know he wants to be doing things outside the podcast. He wants to get into tv still and loves standup itself above all else. The podcast was just a way for him to keep himself in front of his audience during Covid. So for him now to be able to miss as many episodes as he wants and his supporting cast perform better when he is not there is the perfect setup for him.
Me and my wife had twins in November (boy and girl) and my wife has recently found that saying "Alright! Were having a good time!" is a great way to get our babies in a better mood. Thanks Dusty we loved the special!
Oh my gosh, funniest episode in a long time. I love Nate, but when he's not there, it allows the other guys to really shine. Aaron was on fire, very snarky and funny. Bates' deadpan reactions were fantastic. Dusty was allowed to expand some of his conspiracy theories. So good, really good.
When Nate is gone, it's like the local junior college remedial class teacher leaves the room and the digenerates that never listen take over. I love it
The amount of off-the-rails moments in this episode made it absolute gold. I listened to the whole episode without knowing the listed topic. I could not figure out what the topics were! 😂
Buttermilk is extremely easy to make. You just whip heavy whipping cream to death. It first turns into whipped cream then it gets clumpy and then out of nowhere the butter separates from the buttermilk like a darn magic trick. Pull the butter out, rinse it in cold water and then squeeze excess milk out. Then chill it. It is so easy. The liquid after you pull the butter out is the buttermilk. 50:00
I really loved this episode. I miss Nate when he is gone, but this episode had me laughing so much. It's nice hearing the boys banter when the boss is busy fighting with his wife.
On the topic of the letter “T” in Dusty’s speech… I’ve noticed since first discovering Dusty a few years ago that he adds extra emphasis to the letter T when it appears at the ends of words. He also tends to pronounce the letter D at the ends of many other words as the letter T sound as well. The word “good” is the most prevalent, but there are others. I’m not criticizing, I’m here for it. I love Dusty’s speech, it’s what makes him unique and gives him a voice you want to listen to. And we’re havin’ a goot time.
Breakfast really got me excited with the Shawshank title for this weeks video. I thought finally Nate watched it! Then the video starts and Nate isn't even there! LOL you got me Bates, you really got me. Also it was funny that Aaron pronounced De Jesus like the character from the Big Lebowski
😂😂I laughed the entire episode, probably the funniest I've seen, and I've been a fan since the first one. Loved that Brian wasn't talked about the whole episode. Fav podcast going strong!💪
Ha, I keep loose tums in my pockets too. Was with my brother and sister in law not long ago, and she was having some heartburn. I did what any decent man would do and offered her a loosey, as I call them. She was appalled, but ended up taking one eventually. Love you guys, none of this is lost on us.
Literally spit my drink all over my phone when Aaron talked about the radio segment! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 I think water came out of my nose and ears! 🤣🤣🤣 We need to hear that interview!
Lets GO folks.! This one was indeed a hot one, can't wait for the Rated Red episode to drop. Such a good time. So many laugh out loud moments just use this one for end of the year highlights. Keep it up gentlemen! You're truly men of the people.
You guys had me ROLLING this week 🤣 I think you should do an episode where you all taste buttermilk @ the same time. The name doesn’t fit the expectation… I’ll just leave it at that!
From Aaron having no idea how to adult to Blastoise being a little extra spicy from those wings, this episode was top notch. And Aaron, don’t be afraid of asking “dumb” questions! Ignorance isn’t a problem. Choosing to be ignorant is! Also, as a guy with a soil science degree, I don’t think it would hurt to revisit farming some time in the future. It was the first time in the history of the pod that I was like “finally, a subject I’m genuinely excited for!” and the best topic of conversation was “What IS hay?” Keep it up, you’re doing the Lord’s work, guys!
Regarding laughing at inappropriate times. Last year I had jury duty. During the selection process the potential jurors are in the court room with the defense, the prosecution, and the judge. The Judge starts by introducing both sides including the charges. When the judge said the defendant was charged with strangulation, it was over for me. For the next 45 minutes with all parties staring at us jurors, I was near tears fighting back laughter. I was confident the prosecution or defense noticed me as I was in the front row. As a fan of The Office I just couldn’t even. The worst part was I got selected for the trial and had to figure out how to control myself all day as I listened to the trial for the Reading Strangler.
That’s amazing! 😂😂😂 I started laughing (quietly as I could) at a lawyer on jury duty once. I could not stop. It made the judge start cracking a smile, holding it back. He called me into his chamber end of the day 😳 But he just told me I was the alternate and didn’t have to stay for deliberation. 😁
After 30 yrs of being on this earth, you guys are the ones to break me down and I finally watched Shawshank Redemption. Even though I knew the ending it was still a great movie
Buffalo Wild Wings saying "And if that doesn't work, try Delete Me" might be the peak of his comedy career. I haven't laughed that hard at these guys in a while
Buttermilk is the liquid left over after you make butter. You scoop the cream off the top of the milk and that's heavy whipping cream. You whip the heavy whipping cream and if you whip it long enough, you get butter. The liquid leftover is buttermilk.
I think it was the expectation set by the name coupled with the “sweet” milk we’re used to, but… When I was 16, I ended up with an entire mouth and throat full of canker sores after surgery. I was absolutely miserable and in terrible pain. There may be some truth to using buttermilk for the gut, as that’s what the Dr. recommended I do and canker sores are thought to break out as a result of stomach acid imbalance. Anyway, they tell me to gargle buttermilk, which I had never actually tasted before, but had a preconceived notion from the name… I’m pretty sure I did a spit take as it was SO sour compared to what I was expecting!!! Love to see the guys give it a go! We’re having a good time!
These episodes are the best. Very chill conversations like an Aaron interview. Also it’s pretty funny you picked the guy who skips paragraphs when reading to read the comments. You’re my boy blue!
Buttermilk is the leftover liquid from making butter. I’ve made butter a few times and it’s the liquid that separates from the butter solids after you mix the cream.
Jill Neace Hey Bear! First time listener/watcher, long time commenter. As a sufferer of Misophonia, I feel like it would be a blast for y'all to revisit on a future episode. It. Is. Real. It is described as a "disorder in which certain sounds trigger emotional or physiological responses that some might perceive as unreasonable given the circumstance. Reactions can range from anger and annoyance to panic and the need to flee." I usually experience all of those at once. : ) Chewing, popping gum, licking finders, slurping, crunching chips, etc. - it is enough to make me want to evacuate any situation. To me, it is sooooo inconsiderate for someone to simply enjoying their food/gum in my presence. How dare they. : ) I once held my ears in a car from Asheville, NC to Knoxville, TN because I could hear a fellow passenger chewing gum. I would have been considered rude for asking them to spit it out...they were "only" chewing gum. But no one seemed to notice I had to hold my ears for 2 hours??? To me, it is like nails on a chalkboard. Y'all can imagine how much of an issue Breather Bates' breathing noises were for me when the podcast first started. Also, my mother (Vicki in Karns, TN) is a Nateland fan and listener. Odds are that she'll hear this comment, not realize it was from me, and then tell me about someone who commented on the Nateland podcast about how they don't like the sound of others' chewing noises either. So, say hello to Vicki if you don't mind. Love you guys!
It would be so helpful include links in the description to the stuff the guys claim to love, even if they're not sponsors. I'd love to check out the exact model of Aaron's desk and treadmill instead of having to wade through the internet to narrow it down myself. Dusty's grounding mat, too. :)
Last night my wife and I went to Nate‘s show at Capital One Arena in DC. While we waited in line to get in, a guy next to us said “if you have Clear you can skip this entire line!” Someone behind us said “I have cleared like at the airport” and the guy said “yeah it’s the same thing, come with me” and he took them all the way in and skipped the entire line. I know Nate can’t control what happens at the venues, but it seems like this conspiracy goes right to the top. Or at least the top of this podcast.
I feel you Aaron - been trying to get my 18 year old daughter to watch "Shawshank Redemption" for the last 5 years. This was daddy's little girl that would watch anything with me and now won't give any of my suggestions a chance. Keep up the great work fellas and can't wait to see Nate (front row seats!) in April in Corpus Christi!
Ok, @brian - I know you've been reluctant ever since the diet soda floating experiment, but it really is time for some hands-on learning. Aaron asked about buttermilk. Here is what you can do to help him understand. Buy a pint of heavy cream. Pour half of it into a mason jar (screw on the lid) and let it sit out for an hour before the podcast so it gets to room temp. Then, during the podcast, take turns shaking the jar vigorously for a few minutes. The cream will thicken up, turning into a "whipped cream." You can taste it, but with no sugar added, it will not be anything like cool whip. Then, keep shaking and after a couple more minutes, there will suddenly be a change. It will be noticeable to the person shaking it and it will sound different. In an instant, the fat will separate from the liquid leaving you with butter and butter milk. If you include me in your comments, let's use my maiden name this time and see if it's easier for Nate. -Sandra Kuligowski
I agree with Aaron that the directors names he listed should be commonly known by most. I also agree with Dusty that most people aren't gonna know many other directors not listed by Aaron. And, the Cohen Brothers are awesome.
Dusty's comment about not liking the sound of people eating hit home for me, lol. I am the same way. I love Dusty & listen to his podcast also and that's one thing that drives me nuts is when he takes a drink you can hear it. LOL, no hate, no dump Dusty, I'm here for all of it. 😆
I say we make it mandatory for Aaron to do the podcast on little sleep 😂😂 He was definitely slap stick tired and laughing at any and everything. No more rested Aaron. -Ryan Day
I am loving the episodes with the 3 Amigos. Brian gets more time to shine when Nate is away. Love Nate too but the vibe is just different. Both set-ups are funny but different.
My nana loves hush puppies and buttermilk. We would go through the Long John Silvers drive thru, get an order hush puppies, and take them to her with buttermilk. She breaks them up in the bowl and covers them with buttermilk. It’s one of her favorite snacks.
18:28 Bran Muffin suggesting the team can edit out Aaron removing food from his shirt has us folks wondering - who has to be edited out the most and why? Is it mainly for “podcast hygiene” (e.g. removing food off someone’s shirt) or do you have to occasionally edit out someone saying something they regret (which is bound to happen in almost 200 episodes)? I hate to think we’ve missed out on a good conspiracy theory rabbit holes that didn’t make the final cut!
I love this podcast, it’s always light hearted stuff that takes my mind off the daily grind ❤ Keep it up boys! PS I want to see more of Nate interacting with his New York friends. I wanna see Bobby Kelly on this podcast, joe list, Dan Soder and others 😂
Growing up on a diary farm in the Ozark mountains in Marshall, Arkansas, this is what we called “cow tippin” and the people who didn’t know assumed we were idiots trying to push cows over in the few of the morning. Glad someone else is aware of the truth
I love how Aaron made a recommendation to go to Missouri to do a show in total darkness during the eclipse, according to Google an eclipse can last anywhere from 10 seconds to 7.5 minutes. This would be the shortest Nateland ever. Some listeners might love it!
Two things: Brian's comment regarding Dusty's mentioning playing at a bigger venue now that he has his Netflix special - 'What is this Nate 2.0?" was SO spot on and funny! Also, Aaron's right about Shawshank Redemption. Nate needs to see it...
Saw Dusty in Tulsa, Great Show! I've been a fan of the art of stand-up for a long time, but this was my first comedy show. It was surreal to see Dusty in person since I've been a big fan for years. Would have loved to stuck around and small-talked for a bit but my very pregnant wife had to get to sleep. I hate that it was cold when he came to town because the next few days were in the mid-70s and sunny. My wife and I had a great time, just like Dusty said we would.
Just when I thought it couldn’t get anymore funny, y’all hit me with the buttermilk conversation. It’s literally in the name fellas. It’s the milk that is smashed out of the freshly churned butter. Hence buttermilk. Keep up the educational videos fellas. I’m here for it
Nate’s Manning Cast fiasco and Aaron’s post-funeral radio interview are both recent podcast highlights. What other failed interview stories can you share with the folks? Thanks for the laughs!
Dump Dusty?? Dusty is fantastic! While I always miss Nate, watching the three of you is a delight. Such fun! I love anticipating the arrival of Wednesday mornings. 😊
Store bought buttermilk is NOTHING like buttermilk created when making homemade butter from heavy whipping cream. The former is horrible, IMO; but the latter was a lovely revelation. It is also very easy to do. The butter is fabulous. In the Victorian days, ladies would be administered smelling salts as a remedy for swooning 😂. I had a bunch of other comments that I've forgotten. I'll have to start taking notes 🤪. GREAT show. And yes, we are all having a good time spending some with you! 🤗
I have a standing desk and treadmill that I usually do 2 miles a day on. I had already done it today, but after hearing Aaron almost walking a marathon I had to get it back out. Thanks for the exercise motivation, Aaron!
That might be my favorite Aaron story. Imagine tuning in to the radio and wondering if you’ll come see this comedian they’re talking about and then he’s just the most boring downer ever…hilarious
I think with the Pork Rinds story Dusty was describing experiencing “misophonia” It’s a disorder where certain sounds can make your irrationally angry.
When you make butter from churning cream it ends up separating into two things: butter and buttermilk. So, that’s why it’s called buttermilk; it’s the milk left over from making butter.
Precisely! Butter doesn't naturally emulsify, so it separates, essentially leaving behind the buttermilk. There is also a process to ferment dairy products until the point of mild curdling to create buttermilk. Even with fermentation as an option, about 80-82 percent of all buttermilk is from separated culture.
The auditory issue is called misophonia. It caused by a bad "wiring" in your brain. Rather than your brain routing the stimulation as it should, it gets sent to another part of your brain. They have also linked this "annoyance" to an overstimulation in your brain, which caused the irritability. It is hard to describe to other people who do not have it. My mom was nice to pass it to my brother and me, but she skipped my sister - so we know what it feels like to be told we are crazy and making it up. I tell them I wish I could do a freaky friday and they could live with it for one day, then they could judge. I have stopped being friends with people because they annoy me (eating, sniffing, chewing, pen clicking - any reputative noise). I wear noise canceling head phones, have white noise machines, and even have to straight tell people that they are doing something that is annoying. It is real, so please apologize to your sister, Aaron. Dusty, just tell the guys what they're doing to bother you, please don't break up the podcast. Love you guys!
One of the best places to watch the April 8th eclipse is Bloomington, IN. We are in the path of totality and should have over 4 minutes of darkness. Would be a great place for an eclipse podcast!
“We’ll never know, and we’ll never look it up”. That is the mission statement for this podcast. 😂
This is a quote from Aaron at 37:47 in reference to whether McKinley was responsible for the purchase of Alaska. Rest assured, I also did not look it up.
Haha!!! Neither did I.
Is there any way you guys can post Aaron's radio interview? That story was hilarious and now makes me want to hear the actual interview.
I couldn't agree more on this!!! Dusty feels like a long lost relative to ALOT of us! (Eastern KY Appalachian here!)
I love Nate, but these episodes without him are great. It feels like 3 children left alone at home while the parents are away, and you can see the true friendship come out of BoJack, Aaron, and Dusty. I also feel like Aaron is more front and center and these, and he kills it!
Agree 10x
I couldn't agree more! The Ewing Theory is evident in these latest episodes without Nate. Which I honestly think is so great for him. We know he wants to be doing things outside the podcast. He wants to get into tv still and loves standup itself above all else. The podcast was just a way for him to keep himself in front of his audience during Covid. So for him now to be able to miss as many episodes as he wants and his supporting cast perform better when he is not there is the perfect setup for him.
I totally agree
Truth! Very much giving off unsupervised vibes - hilarity ensues!
Agree 100%. I wouldn't even mind if the podcast just became these three
Just never go back to 1 hour
Aaron’s story about his interview was hilarious 😂😂😂😂
It was so good! I hope he puts it into his stand-up!
Me and my wife had twins in November (boy and girl) and my wife has recently found that saying "Alright! Were having a good time!" is a great way to get our babies in a better mood. Thanks Dusty we loved the special!
The fact that Aaron calls it a "construction ladder" is ridiculously funny to me.
I guess I wanted to differentiate it from a decorative ladder (which my Airbnb last week had in the living room)
I picture it as an old ladder covered in paint and sitting on an old off-white sheet 😂
@@AaronWebercomedy
Aaron convincing us that he is not obsessed with shawshank convinced me that he is obsessed
I think that was the joke 😂
Of course Nate would miss the Shawshank episode 😂
I think they did that on purpose. 😂
The hard “T” is on words like “good”, “hard”, or “could”. I love it!!
EARNHARDT!!! ITS LITERALLY ON HIS HADT 🤣🤣🤣
I was wondering if anyone else noticed that.

This was the funniest episode to me. Aaron staying in the wrong Duplex. Dusty asking what do we do in the winter time? It’s the best.
I really loved this episode. I miss Nate when he is gone, but this episode had me laughing so much. It's nice hearing the boys banter when the boss is busy fighting with his wife.

I thought the exact same thing!
Same here!
Same!
I came here to see if someone else had said this already.
Accidentally awake, trying to fall back asleep and receive notification new episode just posted. Awesome timing! Will sleep tomorrow.
Same 🥱
Exactly. We can sleep when we're dead.
Dusty: “Just had a funeral… for my soul” 😂😂😂😂😂

Oh man, is there a recording of that Aaron interview? That's hilarious!
Dusty is the greatest thing to ever happen to this podcast and I'm glad he's here to stay. #dontdumpdusty
I love this podcast!! I’ve met Dusty and Brian. I loved Dusty’s remark that the hotel emailed his laptop to him!! Thank you all for the laughs!!!
It's a hot show. 🔥
Aaron, "stop it, Brian" during the ad read 😂😂😂.

Hey Bear! First time listener/watcher, long time commenter.
As a sufferer of Misophonia, I feel like it would be a blast for y'all to revisit on a future episode. It. Is. Real.

I like the fact that Arron thinks a “nice” Airbnb includes a ping pong table. 😂
And a walk-in cooler! 🧊 🔥 🏓🏓
I audibly gasped when Aaron triple tapped the back of his phone.
😂
It would be so helpful include links in the description to the stuff the guys claim to love, even if they're not sponsors. I'd love to check out the exact model of Aaron's desk and treadmill instead of having to wade through the internet to narrow it down myself. Dusty's grounding mat, too. :)
20:33 so sweet lolll reminds me when BB announced his baby and Aaron was instantly super-psyched. They bicker but they love ^_^
What a good time. Love you nateland family. So glad y'all are getting some time in the light.
Last night my wife and I went to Nate‘s show at Capital One Arena in DC. Bates "We've talked about that before on this podcast" is his version of Dusty's "We're having a good time".

Correction on "Beta Box Bates". I should have written "Beta Max Bates."
Dusty’s and Brian’s jokes for Delete Me were on point.
I was cracking up. You guys are great. 😂😂😂
Hilarious 😂
I agree with Aaron that the directors names he listed should be commonly known by most. I also agree with Dusty that most people aren't gonna know many other directors not listed by Aaron. And, the Cohen Brothers are awesome.
As a fellow frequent flyer, I am so excited that someday I may get to experience airport life with any of you!
Dusty makes Nateland 100x better
Aaron: (Picks food off shirt) I haven't had anything to eat today... The most Aaron Weber thing ever!
😂😂
Ty guys. Oklahoma is pretty cool. Sorry I missed your shows!!😢
Dusty's comment about not liking the sound of people eating hit home for me, lol. I am the same way. I love Dusty & listen to his podcast also and that's one thing that drives me nuts is when he takes a drink you can hear it. LOL, no hate, no dump Dusty, I'm here for all of it. 😆
I’m sure it’s gross and I’m sorry
I agree with Rachel, never skip the ads. Aaron's laugh always makes me laugh
Aaron and Dusty were unhinged this episode and I loved it ❤
I say we make it mandatory for Aaron to do the podcast on little sleep 😂😂 He was definitely slap stick tired and laughing at any and everything. No more rested Aaron. -Ryan Day
I am loving the episodes with the 3 Amigos. Brian gets more time to shine when Nate is away. Love Nate too but the vibe is just different. Both set-ups are funny but different.
Aaron talking about switching his iphone to Grayscale, I imagine that's just how Bumboat sees the world. Wizard of Oz style... Pre-Tornado
Love ya Bates!!! Just joshing.
Such a hot episode! I was dying the whole time 😂
They emailed it to me😂 Ugh the best!
Cow tipping. Flipping over cow poop for mushrooms. "Cow tipping". Surprised this one slipped by Dusty. 😂😂
Growing up on a diary farm in the Ozark mountains in Marshall, Arkansas, this is what we called “cow tippin” and the people who didn’t know assumed we were idiots trying to push cows over in the few of the morning. Glad someone else is aware of the truth
Aaron and I are about the same age, and I still learn tech stuff from him! Makes me feel old.
Morning sun gives energy, afternoon sun takes energy away.
Dusty needs to build a sunroom. Instead of a screened in porch, you have big glass windows all around. They have a lot of them in Florida.
I’m here for it
I came here looking for this comment! God bless.
Y'all are one step away from "Planes, Trains, and Automobiles"
Nate’s Manning Cast fiasco and Aaron’s post-funeral radio interview are both recent podcast highlights. What other failed interview stories can you share with the folks? Thanks for the laughs!
Thanks for loving on Oklahoma❤❤❤
Holy Cow... The first time Dusty says Harrison Ford... he SAYS FORDT! 😂😂
He adds a t to a lot of words that don’t have a t, like good
I’m just listening today and didn’t know a commenter brought it up 😆
Have fun Nate and family, we love you ❤
Aaron is only ok with skipping every one at Enterprise but draws the line at skipping people at the airport 😅
love y'all keep up the great work
This episode had me laughing out loud. Aaron’s radio and duplex mishaps… 😂. Amazing that Nate can be gone and the guys don’t miss a beat.
I love Will O'Donnell! I saw him at the Funny Bone in St. Louis and he was the best part of the show 😁
I have a standing desk and treadmill that I usually do 2 miles a day on. I had already done it today, but after hearing Aaron almost walking a marathon I had to get it back out. Thanks for the exercise motivation, Aaron!
Aaron's sad radio interview was hilarious! Just play it off as "a bit".
When you churn butter, there is liquid left over after the butter is formed. That liquid is butter milk.
That might be my favorite Aaron story. Imagine tuning in to the radio and wondering if you’ll come see this comedian they’re talking about and then he’s just the most boring downer ever…hilarious
There’s a 0% chance Nate wouldn’t have stopped Aaron when he used the word “navigable.”
Wednesday mornings are the best
I think with the Pork Rinds story Dusty was describing experiencing “misophonia”
It’s a disorder where certain sounds can make your irrationally angry.
I feel like after nearly 4 years, we’re just starting to see the real Aaron with these Nateless sodes, and it’s great.
I watched this late at night while my screen bathed me in blue light. That may have thrown off my circadian rhythm.
I'll go proofread this now.
