- Rex, the huge but gentle German Shepherd, was the baby of the house until his human baby brother arrived. Initially, his owner didn't know what to expect from this duo, but all her doubts vanished with the first Rex's sniff. He immediately stepped into the nanny's shoes around Samuel. Now, they can't get enough of each other and share everything together, including warm naps, playtime and even treats.

Samuel got himself a best friend since day 1😊
I had a German Shepherd chow. We had him two years before our son was born. He was the same way with him. We were blessed to have Maximus for 15 years. When he passed it was hard on all of us. We were there when he took his last breath. I still miss him even though it’s been two years now. Document as much as you can. I kept a journal of him. So we have memories to read. So happy to see your babies together. It’s heartwarming.
I feel you and sorry for your loss. We had 3 GSDs. Even though their time with us was short, we had an amazing time when they were there & miss them everyday. First one passed over 15 years ago. GSDs are just so special.
I had mine for 14 years. German Shepherds are the best. The house became all of a sudden so empty I hated coming back home . Greetings from Paris
@@joannasliwa8147 hi 👋 I understand what you mean about the house feeling empty. We had a three year old female shepherd. She got so depressed not wanting to play or really eat. It took us a good six months before we could even think about bringing another dog in. We ended up getting two dogs from a shelter or female shepherd came back to life after a week or so realizing these dogs are a new addition to the family. Very excited what Paris is doing to prepare for the 2024 Olympics would love to come see the new improved Seine.
@@krisd870 I'm not seeing a lots of adjustment - work throughout La Seine going on regarding the Olympics ( maybe in spring ) . As a Parisian I'm more about keeping our beautiful bridges protected . I hope you will be able to come to Paris to experience the whole Olympics atmosphere 🗼

I've seen several children in my building that are terrified of dogs, and I can easily see that it's only because that unreasoning fear has been passed on from the parent to the child. What a terrible legacy to pass on to a kid.

OMG! When I was a toddler and little girl, I also had a German Shepherd named Rex!!! Even as a golden girl, I still have wonderful memories of him, and the family stories of how he loved me will live in my heart forever. German Shepherds are still one of my favorite breeds of dogs. I have a German Shepperd since he was a Baby. He is 9 years now. He is also a gentle Giant. I feel already sorry when I think that one day he will be gone. They are so good souls.
My died yesterday because of cancer. She was also 9. That felling after lossing a dog is one of the worst pains. Hope your is well and be with him as long as you can, because you never know when that day come...

It’s the best thing in the world when you grow up with a German shepherd. I grew up with one who was not just a pet but also trained as a protection dog. I was the oldest of 6 children and my German shepherd was the best nanny! He loved children and was so good with all of us. German shepherds are the best dogs in the world! Thank you for sharing!!🦋

I was 1 year old when my parents got a German Shepherd puppy. We had a Collie, and they said he got hit. I grew up with Sarge, and he was my babysitter in the house and the yard. They never worried about me when he was there. When my sisters came along, it was the same. They're the BEST when raised right. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
They did the right thing by giving the pup love at the same time they were giving the baby love, so the pup knew he wasn’t going to be pushed aside and forgotten, he knew he was still going to be included and loved. I love German shepherds ❤🥹🐶

@@CuddleBuddiesChannel they are so precious and protective, the head tilts are so cute too. We have a gsd named Loki, he has a big head and big ears. He had parvo when he was a pup and we almost lost him, so he’s our miracle pup. 🐶
That dog loves him. He is part of his pack. He will guard him and protect him. Anyone tries to grab that baby and it's game over. German Shepherds are incredibly intelligent and loyal.
The three German Shephards that I owned were all great around small children.

Be sure to teach a Shephard what the word "no" means. It saved me a few times. Don't tease them. They do like to play though, and watch the hip area. Some develop hip issues, but it's inherited.

There's nothing more beautiful then your baby becoming best friends with cats or dogs. It takes A LOT of patience for pets to endure the tugging, the pulling and the stretching there baby sibling inflicts on that pet kudos for all there patience, love, and friendship they give to.our babies

One, my oldest son was little we had a female German Shepherd and got he could do anything to that dog just absolutely anything. She just loved him to death. She followed him everywhere he went. It was priceless and you know when he was starting to learn to ride a bike, she was right there beside him and God help anybody I’m close to it, she was protective that was her baby

Beautiful dog and beautiful baby. GSDs are enlightened multidimensional beings. We have been breeding them for some 24 years now. The only problem is when they pass away. They take away a piece of one's soul.
I’m sympathetic about your losses. The only solace is knowing you were as good as possible to your shepherd and it is better to have loved and lost, than never to have been with a dog.
They do, but them]n you get another one and a they add a piece of their soul to you.
The Shepherd is an extremely intelligent and gentle giant which is why they are such great service dogs.

Weve've had two German Shepherds. They are pure pretection. You can't say that about all dog breeds.

GSDs are the most loving and playful and goofy big sisters/brothers. They immediately make human babies members of the pack and BFFs. Their loyalty is unsurpassed and their guardianship of their humans is second to none. We have had GSDs for 20+ years. Would not have any other.
As Sam I grew up the same with the family dog.
We were inseparable, sharing every moment, napping together…
My parents were astounded by the bond between us.
Unfortunately he naturally passed away when I was 6yo.
I’m 50, and still remember and miss my beloved guardian angel.

Great dog. I already had two german Shephards and right now I have my third and all of them were/are like yours. Awesome sweet and kind dogs. However, accidents can happen, so I was always around when they were playing with small kids!

@@CuddleBuddiesChannel The most basic of needs is food. Dogs and humans hunting together solved the problem for both species. Hell, one of the most basic of dog actions - licking the face of a human - is to lick for food. That's what it's based off of. Instinct. With the food problem solved comes companionship. But yeah, the absolute bottom of the need pyramid is food. I'm just thinking on the practical scale.
