We had this play at our school and the mains guys shirt accidentally came off midway through the play and had to roll with it the rest of the time XD but it honestly made It better
@darthdogeyt3260 it was a lot of fun! I almost got smothered with a wet washcloth for real lol, but I really had a lot of fun. It was my first ever play I've done too
We are doing brecht, it's amazing to see how other styles presents the idea of 1984. Tomorrow will be my last night as Winston, I need to prepare for closure and let my character go.
Okay your show was one year ago can you tell us how it went? Now that we've had almost a year of pandemic, do you feel like you live in a controlled society as in Oceania???
This is an adaptation. Something accurate when have been much more appropriate considering the seriousness of the subject matter. *I do give a thumbs up for meeting the challenge of the straight task, as this is far from a simple book.
Oh the play was so intense (the broadway version) they had people vomiting and getting into fights. I’ve been trying to find a bootleg of it and this the only one I have found.
Baloney Bear Theatre of Cruelty is such an underrated genre. The audience should feel invested in the show and the fact that an artform can cause such an intense reaction is so fucking awesome.
Baloney Bear I looked it up and saw that!! I was looking for a bootleg and this is the only one I could find as well. I imagine since it’s high school it won’t be anywhere near as disturbing as that but I would love to see one of those performances where people were leaving like that!
@@mmon4252 there is a subreddit called r/musicalbootlegs. I went on there, and I got a boot of the play from 2017. Just ask, and mention you can't trade anything (unless you actually have links for other bootlegs since that's basically how it normally works). Say your new, and hopefully, someone can gift it to you! Also, the broadway play is awesome! It is a little confusing at the start, since it starts with a "book club" discussing the book itself, but then it plays out normally. The audience of this recording wasn't very bugged out from the room 101 scene tho ( there was A LOT of coughing during the recording for some reason lol) I would recommend knowing the story beforehand as well since it is a bit hard to follow at times. Good luck!
NOT ENOUGH sexual affection between actors and the vibe between julia and winston was very poorly shown, maybe actors were smashin before and outside the play SMH!!!!! but in all decent play really love the goons in the back when WInston was getting tortured..
My school did this play yesterday and I started reading the book. 1984 is honestly becoming one of my favorite pieces of media
How did the show go? Me and my mates are preparing to put this show on together
Winston was phenomenal. Very impressive, positively bone chilling really. Bravo!
Winston's acting is honestly amazing-
Right?! Exactly what I thought lol

Bruh I'm playing Winston at my community theatre and oh my fucking God, I will never be able to match even the slightest of this 😭
How was it? With such a big role your acting must've been great
@darthdogeyt3260 it was a lot of fun! I almost got smothered with a wet washcloth for real lol, but I really had a lot of fun. It was my first ever play I've done too
That’s Awesome! they threw Ramstien in !! Good production too guys

What is your opinion of fake news and did Donald Trump win the election?
I was there on opening night. I still wonder what the songs used in the scene transitions were. I know they're by Rammstein, but that's all I know.
I know the one at the end of act 2 is Sonne. I'm also pretty sure Engle is used. I think there's a third that I don't remember though.
Shazam them
sonne, mein teil, rosenrot until 1:45:00
My sisters middle school put this on recently the guards where sooo creepy until they took of their masks then I realized they where cute
The fact that a middle school put on a presentation of 1984 is... *deeply concerning*
@@kenpokid10 Doubleplusungood. You're being sent to the Ministry of Love.
Was this based on the version adapted by Robert Owens, Wilton E. Hall Jr, and William A. Miles Jr? From the Dramatic Publishing Company?
I think so I looked at the script they are very similar
