William Parker was active from 1793 to 1841. Parker had a royal warrant and manufactured and sold guns and other items to England's police forces. The saw-handle stock has a horn forend cap, silver wedge plates, a silver escutcheon on the left side, a gold "1" inlaid behind the upper tang, checkered wrist, floral engraved band around the butt, and an engraved key slot in the back of the wrist for fitting the included skeleton buttstock which has engraved iron hardware and a checkered bare butt.

TackTE KOOL this Masterfully Skilled ART work has a single point Sling Attachment!!!! With a Thumb safety!!
I noted a Flange (or bent end?) at or about 10:30 on the ram rod pipe at the stock. I suspect a spring type binder on a bias to allow the rod to be pushed into place, with a possible finger actuated release of tension similar to the shaft of a modern chalking gun for removal. but this flange or damaged part may have had the look of two failed solider joints?
    OMG this IS ART!!!

I LOVE those saw grip pistols! I've incorporated that style in a fantasy book series I'm working on. I'll have to do some research on Parker. Never saw a detachable stock like that on one of those before.

Gun making in the Golden age were all works of art, like Joeseph Manton who patented a lot of improvements.

I have really been intrigued by stocks for pistols lately. Its cool to see one so early. I recently purchased a stock for colt Single action armys. Its known as the skeleton stock. very cool how it works compared to earlier stocks. It fits on all colts i have. From walker to SAAs. It uses a longer hammer screw. the frame does not need to be cut for the stock.

Nice twist barrel, rather than Damascus.

I don't really get what they were going for with that weird protrusion behind the barrel. At first I thought it might be a cheek rest but that's too far forward and high up to be comfortable and too close to the lock. It really throws off the aesthetic of an otherwise beautiful work of gunsmithing artistry.

Were horn fore-end caps a common thing? On pistols or rifles? This does have a very modern look. But I would have expected a smaller caliber.

I've seen horn caps on both original rifles and original pistols, I think it was fairly common, especially in higher end items. The craftsmanship of the 19th century is always impressive.
