  • This week is a build video on the walnut dining table I just finished for my home. I went with a more modern look for this one. Love how the Rubio Monocoat Pure turned out for the finish.

    I would like to give a special thanks to Peachstate Lumber in Kennesaw, GA. They were nice enough to donate the wood for this table. If you are local to the Atlanta area, I would strongly encourage you to go check out their great selection. I’ll leave a link to their website below to find out more information.

    Very well done. Easy to follow. Easy to listen to. You hit the high points and fast forwarded through your procedure. The worst videos out there, and there millions, are those people out there that go on and on and on about nothing. Those people I think just want to hear themselves talk. Such a well made refreshing, clear, concise video. Thank you. Please make more like this.

    The big scare for me on flush aprons is that it seems like an inset apron can hide the seam better, however, the seam/joint you showed in the beauty shots at the end was about as perfect as it gets! LOTS of careful tool setup and craftsmanship are required for that so major props. Beautiful table!

    Great video! The table is beautiful....but furthermore, the links that dig into the details of how you completed this project will allow many first time viewers of your channel a path to get a complete how to of the build, but isn't repetitive for those who follow the channel. Not sure if you could have done any better.

    • @ericpilya2327
      @ericpilya2327 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Maybe in depth isn’t the best phrase. What I mean is that I like when you go through procedures it would be nice to see longer videos of you putting those procedures into building particular pieces. You are very good at articulating the things to look out for so that you don’t make mistakes.

    • @bentswoodworking
      @bentswoodworking  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Eric Pilya oh ok, I understand. For this, it’s more of an overview of the whole process and I have other videos that I discuss things in more depth. For example the tapered legs. I have a whole other detailed video on that process. Also the finish, the leg levelers, table top glue ups, and will actually have a c channel video soon as well 👍

  • @HeWhoHasNoHair
    @HeWhoHasNoHair 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Looks great! Two questions for you, if you happen to see this: 1. What leg levelers did you use? Assuming you like them, could you reply with a link? 2. How thick is the top of this table? Thanks!

    • @bentswoodworking
      @bentswoodworking  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I like them for most applications. I can’t remember the brand but I get them at Home Depot. As for the top, mine was 1” thick.

    • @bentswoodworking

      Well the apron is suitable for that. However, yes the channel will assist in keeping it flat over time. I did it on the video mainly to demonstrate the technique

    Great workmanship. That table is gorgeous. When gluing and clamping-up the table top, you didn't have any problems with keeping the table top perfectly flat? Thanks.

    Beautiful table. One step you omitted was how you attached the base to the top. Did you attach to the c channel or how else did you attach the top.

    Beautiful table. We are renovating our kitchen with some open walnut shelving and I think this would tie in perfectly. However what about chairs, did or will you be making any?

      Sean Henry we just buy our chairs because we prefer upholstered chairs.

    Very nice table! One question...how did you attach the table top to the frame? I've seen it done with "S-shape" brackets that attach to the bottom of the table top and the other end going into a slot (biscuit cut) to allow for expansion...is this how you did it or with another method? thanks!

      That is exactly how I attached this top.

      @@bentswoodworking thanks for the quick feedback...I'm having trouble locating these...is there a name for this type of bracket? I"m assuming they have them at the big box stores...
