DVC is the absolute best! My wife and I love architecture-especially the details in architecture. Go to Au Lani or Animal Kingdom--in the Lobbies. I can spend hours just looking at the details in the architecture of the places. Not to mention the theming and the story behind what they put into these gourgeous and unique places. And it is only because of DVC that we can enjoy this year after year!! There is absolutely no way we could have gone the number of times to the many DVC resorts that we have gone to if we were not members!! I love DVC-absolutely,positively!!!
This episode will go down as one of my favorite DVC Fan shows!! It is wonderful to see the real joy and happiness that you all feel as DVC members! Thanks for sharing the fun of DVC ownership! I completely agree with all your great points.
These TH-cam videos that you all put out for us also make DVC fun. The episodes are entertaining, knowledgeable, well made, and keep our DVC passion fueled. Thanks for all that you do. It’s fun and appreciated!
Derek's last comment is the biggest surprise to me as a newer owner! I've booked resorts that I never would've paid cash at before DVC. I don't mind trying new resorts when they are points and not $700/night.
As a DVC Member since April/1992, it's hard to describe what being a DVC Member has meant to myself as well as my friends and family. Old Key West was only about 1/2 built, and the 3 bedroom grand villa was not even available yet. I can't tell you the reaction from the cast members around the property, when you mentioned that you are a DVC Member. You were treated like no other Disney guest. And don't get me started about frinds and family who stayed as my guest. Total amazement at the high quality, ultra first class rooms for their use. One friend of mine, who was on a family trip to Disney with their daughter's volleyball travel team to compete at the World of Sports Complex stayed in a 2 bedroom at OKW rather than staying off property at a budget hotel. I was told that after checking in to the resort, my friend and his family went to their room to get settled in. I was told that his wife started to cry. She could not believe how nice the room was, and this is how the upper class vacations. From then and even today, it never gets old, people telling you how amazing DVC villas are.
Great show. My favorite thing about DVC is that we can vacation differently now. Heat of the day and busy time in the park. We go have lunch and enjoy the resort. It turned what use to be a stressful vacation into a relaxing and enjoyable time.
We were at Disney World last week. Stayed one week at Riviera, one week at Kidani and then left property for a few days. We came back, after our few days at another hotel, and stayed at OKW and my son said "It's so good to be back home". He's 14! We view DVC as our second home. And when we are away "It's so good to come back home".
I have two disabled people in my group, so the DVC resorts are the way to go. We know what we are getting. Great to have a kitchen so always had breakfast at the resort and one other meal there too. We are on easy transportation with bus, since the HP units I stayed in are near bus stops. We were close enough to take breaks during the hottest part of the day and go back for naps and pool time, easy because of the bus. The resorts are nice enough so not all went back to the park and those staying had lots to do.
Yay! It’s Pete, Fiasco, Derek, and Paul! I thoroughly enjoyed this episode! It was funny, endearing, and emotional! As a military member, I am on the fence on whether to buy DVC or a Moving To Orlando home!😜
I so agreed with Derek! We started off rushing around when the kids were young but as they grew we relaxed. We’ve been members since 2003. Our first year we bought annual passes and went 3 times that year and stayed at better resorts than the All Stars.
Thanks for such a positive, fun episode. Points ARE fun. They allow me to travel to Disney several times a year for long weekends to get away from the cold NJ winters and to take a break from the realities of life.
I know Pete has stayed in many grand villas previously. I stayed at the grand villa at boardwalk recently with family. We stayed a week and one of my favorite memories was after the parks closed we would get the night munchies. Then, would go down to the general store and get a couple frozen pizzas. We baked pizzas then all sat at the table and talked. The stories and laughter those nights brought were just fantastic. I wish I took pictures of these ‘pizza nights’, those are some heartfelt, fond memories.
I wasn’t a Disney regular until in bought DVC. I look at it as prepaid vacation and now I take a few short vacations a year instead of sitting at home on my “staycations”.
I gotta say thanks to you guys i was able to get really informed and bought 280 points resale at animal kingdom lodge. This was my first dvc purchase and i cant wait. I have a 1bed room savanna view room stay coming up the week of mardi gras. To be honest without the shows you guys are doing i dont think i would have bought. And yes while i do loose out on some benefits by buying resale, it was sooooo much cheaper. So what i miss out on a discount on something. The price difference very well makes up for it. Guys keep doing what you do i love all the shows.
Hey everyone. Love the videos! Here is another thing that my wife and I absolutely love about DVC, it is our “home” in Florida. What I mean by that is, while of course we do various things Disney that we love, we explore everything else in Orlando also! Our current contract allows us 2 weeks a year to come to Florida. It’s a heck of a lot cheaper than buying an actual property in the Orlando area at the moment. Until we can move full time to Florida from NJ, this is a heck of an alternative! ❤️
We haven’t bought in yet but when we do I think I will have the most fun with being able to stay at ALL the DVC resorts and then pick my favorites after staying everywhere. That’s what I’m looking forward to the most!
Fun is moving to Florida and booking tons of long weekend trips and one long trip a year as opposed to the two week long trips when I lived in NJ. The best timeshare is DVC!!!
Pete is sooo right. Add-on-itis is real! I am in the middle of purchasing my first contract, at Saratoga Springs, and I have been looking every day to see if there is a good add-on at Copper Creek or Boardwalk , lol. It’s addictive!
I bought dvc in 2019 and had a big trip planned in April of 2020. But of course the pandemic ruined that. When disney reopened I booked a couple small quick trips (Becasue flights were dirt cheap), I learned real quick that the small trips are alot funner than longer trips. Like you guys said I know I'm coming back and can focus on doing certain things every time I go. It really feels like an exclusive club, there is nothing better than getting to your resort and being told "Welcome Home"
Hi Guys - Let's not forget about the annual dues. The dues have doubled since I had originally purchased in 2001. Yes my points have been paid for several years ago, but dues are averaging $10.00 per point and going up every year.
I loved this episode. We just became owners at the end of November. We purchased 50 points (June UY) at SSR and have already discussed buying more as soon as these are paid off. We have a short split stay coming up in May (his birthday) and I'm already planning another small trip in September (my birthday). We rented SSR thru RCI years ago and decided that DVC is the way to go. We rented points for a Treehouse stay last July with family and it was awesome! It was their first trip to Disney and that's the only place they want to stay, now.
I love being able to share deluxe Disney with my extended family. It's an experience that they likely will never have again. We're taking 4 nieces and nephews for a week split stay between BLT and AKL kidani, and I can't wait to see their faces!
Great great show. I loved the positive and the fun. With a family of 6, we have to get a 2br, and we love the space. Kids are getting old enough we let them come and go around the resort. Maybe next time we’ll let them do parks as well, but the space and the deluxe resorts makes for great, and many times, even relaxing visits.
LOVE LOVE LOVE DVC LIFE! Originally joined in 2000, addonitus grew our points from 150 at VB to 755 by 2007 property wide. Had to sell those points in 2008, personal reasons (Sold Quickly) Re-instated Membership in 2013, now own 310 points at AK KV, PVR and CCR. Looking to (ADD ON) maybe at OKW Direct. Thanks for all the Great Content and information in the DVC Fan WORLD!
Best DVC fun moment.. being put on BLT 16 th floor and having to scan your magic band in the elevator to get up there as a hush falls over the elevator and everyone tries to figure out "who you are".....🤣
Love the DIS keep up the good work ! DVC Resale used to easily cut your cost of staying in Half ! With all the current price increases it’s even more of a savings ! Poor Pete and addonitice he has got to have over 10K in dues.
Omg Pete the 3 bedroom GV at RR, we stayed there Sept 2020 and I was wondering if I could trade my 4 bedroom house in Jersey to live at RR in it forever!
Lol…we stayed at RR GV February 2020 on my Mom's pts. We loved it so much, we bought our own contract. And my husband's already has addonitis since we now want trade in our 4BR in NJ to live at RR!
Not only the look on your guests faces, but your own when you stay at a place you’ve never stayed. In 2018, we stayed 2 nights each in two bedroom, GF, BR, & SS, it was amazing. Next time I would do it in reverse so we end up at the best last.
The parks were a mess over Xmas (we come from UK at Xmas), but the DVC accommodations were still excellent. SSR was actually outstanding. Disney Springs was also good, great restaurants.
Where can I buy the “Add-on-itis” tee shirt?!? And would buy the Points Are Fun one as well!!! We bought Riviera direct in 2020 before lockdown and then added on with Animal Kingdom in July 2021. Already looking to buy more! I love that I have four vacations already planned for 2022! Points ARE fun!!!
I live in Georgia love my DVC points wish I would have bought sooner I've only been a DVC member for 3 years.. April , 2021 My sister drove from California yeah I said let's go to Disney I will take care of the room I booked a one bedroom they they bumped me to a 2 bedroom for the same points I spent on the 1 bedroom it was amazing she was so impressed I could never afford it to get her that room We were going to stay another day I asked how much would it cost to stay another day cause I ran out of points $2000 a night.. We were already there 3 nights on my points
If the Riviera had a lazy river, I'd be so OMG it's just an amazing place. But when I can stay at like Cabana Bay or even a Disney Springs hotel that has a lazy river to the pool that the kids love; it just doesn't impress me as much as I'd like to be impressed with it.
Yeah all I live just North of Vero Beach, and it will take you an hour and 20 minutes to get there. Just a fyi. Enjoy your shows. Maybe one day I’ll be a DVC member. 🤗
THE ADVENTURES!!!!!😄 ME AND MY MOM JUST DISCOVERED SARATOGA SPRINGS AND THE BUS SYSTEM 🤗 IT'S SO COOL TO NOT HAVE TO DRIVE ITS DEFINITELY A NEW WAY OF DOING DISNEY 🙃🥳🤙🤙🤙🧡💚❤💛💜💙
I’m struggling to find benefits with buying direct vs. resale!? Like the blue card- access to an Epcot lounge with some ac & soda? Doesn’t seem worth it
On the cusp of buying into DVC but the pace of price increases on tickets, food, etc has made us rethink the contract commitment . DVC does me no good if you can’t afford to go to parks or feed your family while you’re there .
I know this is a late comment, but people tell me all the time we don't need anything bigger than a resort room/studio, we only sleep there. I tell yes you are right BUT every day that resort room/studio gets smaller and smaller. Most of the time they do agree with me.
If you think your vision is only worth $10 then by all means order your specs from zini and yes I am biased because I am a eyecare physician. FYI in formation I have had numerous patients return for a office visit that yes they get charged for because of headaches, double vision, cant adapt, blurr etc and you guessed it they bought from zini! I cant fix their problem and neither can zini since they dont care other than selling you terrible cheap eyewear. As Pete always says you get what you pay for.
Getting harder and harder not to buy!!!! (My husband and I have been going once to twice a year since 2017, in addition to us both going as kids) We have given in to the idea that we are 100% Disney people. I’m thinking we’re likely DVC people too 😬 Afterall……. “points are fun.” I bet!!!

We are treating our family to a week in the grand villa at Aulani too! In July. Never in a million years could we do that without DVC
Some needs to explain to Derek what it mean to go “full on commando” 😂
This episode caused me to spend all day at work pricing out DVC resorts.
Me2 Bony One!
Great show! I think we’ve all been dealing with changes at Disney lately. It was nice to focus on the things that still feel good.
Best DVC fun moment.. being put on BLT 16 th floor and having to scan your magic band in the elevator to get up there as a hush falls over the elevator and everyone tries to figure out "who you are".....🤣

We also went from east coast to Disneyland, and Las Vegas, we used the RCI exchange for an awesome stay in Vegas.
This right here is why I bought my DVC contract.

Renting points is fun too! without annual dues. I’m trying to make the math work for us, my husband keeps poking holes in my math.
Using DVC points is like using chips in Vegas… you know they are worth money, but they are so much more fun!
Addonitis shirt or points are fun shirt so cool. We definitely need those
I hope they create a DVC lounge in each park!
I DERAM OF EXACTLY THAT😄🤙🤙🤙💙💜💛❤💚🧡
The way they raising the amount of points you have to have to get members benefits hardly any one will able to use it
They will but you will have e to pay.

Sorry by the way I was at the grand fluoridian .. Then we went 2 days a animal kingdom in a 1 bedroom 2 bathrooms amazing and she loved sanaa

Where have the videos been?
I just read about TH-cam being down.

Mocking non dvc members is my inner joy 😈
I guess TH-cam is back.
