    Hay bruh, I got over 400,000 from my 1st motor, installed a second one and it was worst than the one I took out. I put in a third one and got car out of shop two days ago. I'm impressed with it so far. Thanks for the video.

    Hey man. I want to say thank you for putting all your work on your Vic up here on YT, it's amazing how much you take care of your Vic. I really respect it man. Love your content.
    I just bought my first car, a 2000 Merc Grand Marquis. Now I know thry might be a little different but they similar overall. I love the panther platform vehicles and I actually just had to replace my intake manifold gaskets, I was running into a major coolant leak and now I need my thermostat housing replaced along with an air bleeder housing (I thought they was the same thing) and I also gotta fix up my radiator soon.
    Really looking forward to tuning my whip up kinda like how you done with yours. Mine's got 114K miles on it too.

      Thanx brother. Thats really great mileage you have on your merc and your right the vic and merc is really the same car. Once you get her fixed with the minor issues then shes practically bullet proof.

    Very well said, & I've had the same issues, which I went ahead & replaced ahead of time on my 1st vic, but not my 1st panther platform. Bought the 05 GM LS brand new and tht vehicle had nothing on my p71. GM had sloppy handling & issues with traction control, vehicle would lose traction in the rear just turning out of driveway's or establishments in wet conditions, but never in the p71 vic. Although I did replace suspension components & had a 2inch drop on the Vic which may have helped with traction control, but now want to lift 4/5 inches to accept bigger, wider tires.
    I highly recommend a tune when applying bolt on upgrades & a power programmer which makes the Vic handle superbly.

    Cool. Can’t wait to see this new old car. I got another common failure on the 4.6 sohc and all modular engines. Timing chain hydraulic tensioner seal leaks and you get the startup rattle. Ignore it long enough and goodbye engine. Bought an 04 marquis 3 months ago and it’s been rattling for a few seconds after engine starts since I got it 170000k. My 08 5.4 3v with 42000k just started doin same thing so I parked it. Picked up a decent 03 marauder 3yrs ago for $1500 109000k. Previous owner thought engine was shot cause it rattled somethin fierce and all the time. Removed timing cover and the passenger side tensioner piston was almost falling out and most of the plastic tensioner arm was in the oil pan. Pulled engine to remove oil pan and broken plastic tensioner pieces were stuck inside oil pickup. Replaced just the primary chains and tensioners with Ford parts and was good for 6 months until I started getting the infamous dohc head tick! Frickin engine is out again. I do agree with you that the 4.6 2v is the most reliable out of the bunch

    My intake is having problem on my ford crown Victoria.

    • @2xmototv206
      @2xmototv206  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Probably a seal or a hairline crack allowing unaccounted for air to pass through causing missfire.

    • @2xmototv206
      @2xmototv206  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      yea.. those intake manifold gaskets tends to go bad all the time or because the intake manifold is plastic they tend to crack or melt in some areas causing a vacuum leak which will make ur car idle rough, lose power and performance because there is unaccounted for air being sucked into the engine.

    I have a question to act I have a 04 Ford crown Vic police interceptor when you take off and loses power so I want to know what you think is the they say it is my fuel pump or the oxygen sensor

    • @2xmototv206
      @2xmototv206  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      i would start with the fuel pump first. the screen could be clogged with debris. But if you are throwing codes saying its your oxygen sensor or misfire codes then it sounds like you have a vacuum leak somewhere around the engine and its causing your vic to have a difference in air to fuel ratio.. Thats usually the case and was the case in my situation.
