11:43 -> Asks SCV what the heck he is doing.
11:57 -> Questions SCV in front of entire team why depot isn’t started, ignores SCV’s justifications by acting disappointed (“of course not”) and gets another employee to finish the job
I advise the SCV to resign and find another job. Life is too short to deal with such ridiculous management
I am dying laughing at the blind counter the protoss had there. Harstem faking a bunker accidentally causing him to go battery was the best.
I don't play SC2 anymore, but when I did I maphacked. I literally maphacked for like 2 years straight, at top of master. It's incredibly easy to do, you never get banned, and it is far more common than people think. I still have my original account. These hacks have thousands of downloads, and yet people think it is cringe to suspect anyone of maphacking. Believe me, it really is fairly common, since the risk of getting banned is essentially zero.
I know nearly nothing about modern SC2 meta but to me the battery at the main base was kinda sus. As if he knew he would retreat there to defend.
He was likely going to go 1g robo colossus fast third but after bunker he chronos stalker 2 and 2nd battery expecting a 2/3g proxy, he had no workers at expo so he was 100% expecting to lose the expo
Seeing this made me think of a hilarious idea for beating GMs with stupid stuff: "a true terran all in" . When its time for the push, send literally everything that moves including the buildings across the map...

I love how he complained about the Protoss in game 2 building a great blind counter to his build, but the thing is he blocked the scouting just for the Protoss to play the safest Protoss build against Terran. It wasn’t a blind counter it was the correct response to a blocked scout. Has the captain forgotten how to play Protoss after playing with Terran and Zerg too much?

Stupid stuff idea: Play up Terran as usual but when doing a push, divide army into 2. 8 marines + 3 marauders on one side with 3 medivacs worth of units with them. All other troops on the other side. When the enemy splits his army, you drop your units and ambush the smaller force.

It has to be mathematically and statistically optimal to blind cheese like this a fraction of the time.. maybe a small fraction, but not 0%.
Yeah, the only strategies that should never be used are strategies that are still bad even when the opponent doesn't change the way they play at all because of it. If the opponent needs to make any amount of decision making that's even slightly different because of the possibility of a strategy existing then it should be used a non-zero amount of the time.
Depends on the context. In a tournament when you opponent will prepare and react to strategies game to game the matches you have are not independent events, and having some cheese forces the opponent to always play more conservatively.
In ladder play, each game can be considered an independent event, in which case you should always play the strat with the highest win rate every game, no exception.
Assuming, of course, that your only goal is to maximize winrate and not to have fun or improve as a player.
The mistake you're making is that you're imagining the win rate as being some inherent property of a strategy - it isn't. Some strategies are strong vs. other strategies and weak vs. others, and the win rate of a strategy will vary depending on what other people are doing.
In practice, if nobody ever cheesed, then people would stop playing around cheese, because there's no advantage to playing around a strategy that nobody uses. If nobody plays around cheese, then cheese would be by far the strongest strategy. On the other hand, if everyone played cheese, then people would obviously always play around cheese which would drop the win rate of cheese and force people to switch to different strategies.
Put these things together and you can pretty easily show that when the meta settles, even when people are playing purely by win rate, there will be some percentage of games that are cheese games that is neither 0% nor 100% even when all players are playing optimally. What really happens is if everyone is playing to win, then every competitive strategy (ie. any strategy that requires the opponent to deliberately change the way they play because of the possibility of said strategy existing) would have a 50% win rate, and the only thing that really changes is what % of the time each strategy is used.
After this I'm convinced that Harstem doesn't repond to our comments because idiots are not allowed in his comment-guidelines.

This is great because it exploits one of the key differentiating mechanics of Terran: the ability to produce workers as fast as other races but then to use them as units while acquiring minerals with energy
Many of these differentiating characteristics are underused, like Protoss taking proxy bases & using recall to move workers/warp-in to defend
What's up with the flaming around 8:45? The guy scouted no cc, a couple of marines, and an attempt to bunker his nat. Being a mid-GM player, his response was completely reasonable. As far as I can tell, this wasn't a blind counter, just a counter.
I fake bunkered so he batteries. Then I cancelled but he did not. Outrageous! Simply not allowed!

I just heard that you could stasis units and just leave a purification Nova ontop of them for when they come back to life, so if it's doable I'd love to see you do like disruptor phoenix oracle and basically drop enemy units into novas or just insta kill them after stasis
It's not as easy as you make it sound. You have to time the disruptor ball to hit right after the stasis ends. Do it too soon and the units take no damage. Do it too late and your opponent has time to micro them.

clearly captain has not played many games in lower level pvt, buffaloslice's response to a full-wall terran is actually textbook, counters all early 3bb/4bb rush and fast robo to deal with mines. the reason pro don't respond like that is probably pro don't actually play full-wall 4bb all-in lollll

You saw nothing - TBF he decided to not scout anything - then goes for a random build that is not even a build and gets away with it since it happened to counter Harstem's build. That is the definition of you lost because the enemy is too low elo. So what happens if the enemy just goes full on economy or high tech and you just insta lose. 0 thought given to strategy. These things make me mad...
