A golden era of rallycross and rally cars. The unbelievably increíble soundtrack to a day sat trackside, or in the woods. Something I will never forget. I still have a little model 6R4 on the windowsill.
I've got the scalectrix rallycross legends with gollups 6r4 and schanches rs200 , i have my signed program of both of them from the rallycross gp. It's wrapped up in a box to pass on to my son
This type of British racing is utterly spectacular.... Reminds me of when my son's did grass track racing... great days... Excellent video...as all these videos.
I have the scalextric versions of Hopkins's rs200, skogsteds rs500, skanches rs200 and gollops 6r4. I loved rallycross as a kid and still love it at 35!
I was stood in that croud, right where Gary Baker crashed!! He hit it so hard, it sheared one of the Armco barrier supports, a 12" square wooden post, right at the bottom!! We thought he was coming through it!! I've got loads of photos from this race. Happy days.
Ah, that's great to hear. Friday/Saturday/Sunday/Monday uploads set to continue until the end of summer. Then we'll have a break until 'RAC time' in November.
I was there spectating, from the pit lane, spent a lot of time in Dermot Carnegies pit area. A great day. Brands Hatch rally cross was awesome in those days.
I’m wondering the exact same thing, maybe because they were ridiculously fast and fragile plus nothing else would be competitive with them, meaning the barrier to entry was quite high 🤷♂️
The British rallycross championship has a class that includes classic cars. You won't find the quantity of cars though. Some of the races should be on TH-cam as well
@@michaelkoch8912 I just want to see some of these old 90s rally monsters going for it, I'm not a fan of many cars made after 1999 to be honest pal but that does sound ace! Cheers
A few years before this my dad and i pulled up in the carpark and one pulled up next to us , we got talking to the guy and he said if you have £40k you can buy one. They were desperate to unload them to get some money back after the demise of group b , next year will gollup started with one.

Yet more motorsport gold, thank you VHS rallies 😊
Glad you like them!
I still find it incredible that Martin Donelly was even able to walk after his GP crash, let alone drive competitively.

All because of foot and mouth and lydden hill
Barry Sqibb is probably still trying to collect that start...
Christ, that Silkolene 6R4 is beautiful, isn't it?
6R4 and delta-integrale S4. Beautiful, both in sight and sound.

A man of culture 🫡
Still great entertainment 30 odd years later. Superb..

Very exciting, great to see my lovely old mate Trevor Hopkins at play
Glad you enjoyed it
Gary Baker showing his priorities there, massive accident in a 100k supercar, but gets out wearing a £40 toptek helmet
😳
Gary baker used drive an rs200 around Tunbridge Wells
😅
Thank you very much for all these uploads!!!!

It was mate, absolutely brilliant. I am lucky to have seen them all at Cadwell Park through this golden era.👍👍
Really enjoying the videos on your channel, thanks for uploading them they’re brilliant. Keep up the good work 👍👍
Glad you like them!
More brilliance. Thank you.
Our pleasure!
The ultimate motor sport?
Oh this is a fantastic bit of rally legends 👍🏻
Has anyone got the footage of the guy rolling the saab 900 down tumbledown hill. It was the one year i didn't go as i had a national judo competition
You mean Anders Norstedt. It's on the channel here somewhere.
does anyone know why the groub b cars were banned around 92 season ?,
I’m wondering the exact same thing, maybe because they were ridiculously fast and fragile plus nothing else would be competitive with them, meaning the barrier to entry was quite high 🤷♂️
❤ amazing 😊
And that was the beginning of the end of real rallycross...
Exciting racing
Subbed 💯👍🏾
They banned the ex group B cars from rallycross at the end of ‘92? Why!?
Luckily Martin Schanche wasn't there or its of been a Mr Rallycross show 💨
Was 1992 the last Rallycross GP at Brands ? I wonder why it stopped, as it was such an exciting series, Well in the 80's it was.
I think it ran until 1995 at Brands. Not sure the BBC covered it those final years, mind.
Is there a event with these cars running these days? I'd love to see what I missed (born in 1990)

This comment comes from the year 2023. Why can’t this track be on GT7?
Metro 6R4's Forever!!!

Its not often you see a beetle holding off an Escort Cosworth.
The 6r4 was a f1 v8 with 2 cylinders cut off.why did no one put a dull v8 in one
Too short I think,engine wheel base etc.🤔
Will Gollop’s Silkolene 6r4 was twin turbocharged by ‘92 and about 650hp, previously 440hp in NA form. 😮💨
Ya know Chevrolet changed their Nova to Chevy II because they couldn't sell any in Mexico. No Va means No Go in spanish.😂
18:54 😂😂😂💯
13:30 oof
