Don't overlook the MIDI CC commands. My Osmose will allow me to use aftertouch to change the modulation parameters in real time using key AT pressure. You can set it to control the cross fade mix or ring mod frequency etc. way more fun and expressive than turning knobs. I've not seen anyone do this correctly in a video yet. The Meris manual tells what all the CC numbers are for. IF you're not using MIDI CC controls you aren't really experiencing the Meris to it's capacity.

You showed me more on the microcosm in a few minutes that i could fathom out in the months that I owned one. The interface on the lvx feels way more intuitive to me, more visual. Really nicely done Nick, well explained as always. Super vid my man!

Microcosm is great, but I have the same thought, that most of the time I don't know how it is doing its thing.

As soon as you turned on the LVX it was striking how much more musical it sounded compared to anything you had just done on the microcosm which excels at making farty 8-bit noise but gets sort of fatiguing fast tbh.
I am using an LVX on my board and it replaced a microcosm for exactly the reason I mention above and for its sheer programmability and depth of sound design. Your mileage may vary of course.

Fantastic and highly invaluable information! I've been thinking about getting a second Microcosm to have one play at a much slower tempo breathing out its repeats from under the others faster repeats; however, now i may try to do this with my lvx (my current favorite pedal -by a decent margin). I like it's sound so much that I sample much of it's sounds to use for some sound design in Bitwig -that i then use to make pads/drone scenes for complete pieces. A testimony to its sound, considering I do the same with plugins like Falcon, Omnisphere and the Slate + Ash collection as other sound design and pad/drone tools.
Thanks millions for your time spent on experimenting, then sharing that information with us!
UPDATE (15-minutes later): Well, I was more than curious, and indeed very eager to save a bit of USD for other gear (we all NEED more gear right :D). After a few quick tweaks, I think that i may be able to use the LVX in place of another Microcosm. The only problems is that i won't have my favorite LVX sounds when it's tied up as another Microcosm. Ahh well, that only means that i may have to buy my 2nd favorite pedal ( LVX #2)

Haha wow sounds like you go deep into sound design. Really interesting! Yeh I think LVX nails a lot of Microcosm especially when you get into the modifiers. I’m shooting a video on the modifiers shortly so keep an eye out for that on the channel over the next month or so

I love the stutter mode in meris ottobit jr but hate that it totally blocks your dry sound. I overcome this issue by placing it in the fx loop of another pedal so that i can mix in my dry sound. Can the lvx exactly recreate the stutter of ottobit jr? Thank you.

I have the Microcosm but I'm seriously considering replacing it with the LVX. One thing I greatly prefer is that the LVX has editor software while the very complex microcosm does not. If I can figure out a way to have both units of course, I will.
