    I am a spaniard, and I am totally agree. I know lot of countries in the world and Spain is one of the best for living(safe+lifestyle+culture...) BUT the taxes, bureaucracy and the spanish IRS are the hell. Consider better stay there less than 6 months/year and be resident in other friendly-tax place. That´s what smart high network people do in Spain.

    Perfectly explained. Just more thing: Spanish Tax Law is full, flooded with ambiguities so you can never be sure you are doing the right thing as everything is open to interpretation. This is obviously done in purpose, so when they take you to court they will use this ambiguity to put pressure on you by letting you know that the judge's decision is completely impossible to foresee. This way they will convince you that negotiating is the best option for both parties. A zouk in Marrakesh is more serious than the situation you will experience from this moment.

    Would love to hear more about exit taxes and how Spain will 'probably make it really hard'. You described the exact scenario I was thinking of: lay low in Spain for 3-4 years, then move tax residency to Dubai. My lawyers advised that there is no automatic conversion into tax residents for Spanish civil residents or nationals - this is based on effective residence of at least 183 days. So you could move to Dubai and not be considered a tax resident of Spain and not pay those tax rates you described. I am not yet a high net worth individual making 1M+ a year, and so don't believe the exit taxes would apply in my case.

    If you are getting income for business dividends you only pay the business profit, if you get income from your personal activity or a salary then the progressive tax applies to you.
    So if your business is abroad you declare the dividends only without enrolling to the social security system and you will only pay the 23% (which is not low, but you are getting away from the personal income tax and SS payments).
    Trick: Live only of the business profit.

    Philippines 🇵🇭 was not mentioned on the list though also entitled for a 2-year residency to get the citizenship.
    However, the government's action is so slow that it takes a year to 3 till you get the citizenship after application. Not to included that the Spanish tax system is so high and the economy is not doing great, as well as the healthcare system and free education.
    The reason why getting the citizenship in Spain is not a hype in the Philippines.

I strongly recommend using a lawyer! It took a while to gather the documents because non Spanish speakers must do language exams. In total its cost me around €1700 in all to obtain all required documentation.
    I want to be Spanish because this feels my home. Not for fiscal reasons. Remember- YOU CANT HAVE DUAL NATIONALITY if you're not from France or an iberoamerican country or if don't have Spanish ancestry/blood.

      No, must be born in Spanish colonies, not naturalized. The list of these birth countries include Philippines, Puerto Rico (USA), Guinea Equtorial, Brazil and Portugal. Last two don't belong to the 🇪🇸 colonial list, but they also qualify for 2-year shortcut.

    Only people who can prove they've got some Spanish ancestry should be able to get Spanish citizenship. Spanish citiizenship is not something you should be able to obtain because of economic reasons so 10 years is exactly how it should be. Spain does not have high taxes. You should go live in England and you will pay 4 times as much.
    They need to pursue fraudsters aggressively as people were wanting to benefit from Spanish resources and not pay any tax by hiding it. Why should Spanish law abiding citizens have to pay more to run infrastructure such as hospitals and foreigners or the rich, pay nothing.

    Hello. I have a question ❓
    My wife is Venezuelan. I can automatically get venezuelan citizenship (just never did it). However I was not born in there.
    So if I get that citizenship, can go to Spain and get citizenship of Spain?
    Thank you

    • @AlexCamri
      @AlexCamri 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      you'd need 10 years, while your wife would only need 2 years.
      this seems to be the rule, as Naturalized citizenships of a previous spanish colony are not taken in consideration for the 2 years estimate. You'd need ti have been born in one.
      And as ive research the topic, eventhough your wife may get a spanish citizenship in 2 years, being her spouse wont help you out, as Spain ask for spouses of spanish citizenships to live there for 1 year, if the marriage was registered in Spain.

    • @ВПоискахПравды-ь6э
      @ВПоискахПравды-ь6э 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@AlexCamri Thank you for your response. But, please take into consideration that I can also get Venezuelan citizenship since by law of Venezuela the spouse can apply for citizenship through spouse if their marriage was 5+ years (Which we do have)
      Then, as a venezuelan citizen can I go through faster process with Spain then?
      Doesn't that make sense ?)
      And if I know I'm going through the process of getting Spanish citizenship, living there for 1 year isn't a problem for me.

    • @AlexCamri
      @AlexCamri 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@ВПоискахПравды-ь6э
      Yeah, you can apply for venezuelan citizenship.
      But the issue regarding the Spanish citizenship is that their 2 years requirement is only applied for born iberoamericans.
      Whether you are American, English, Russian, German, whatever your first citizenship is, it doesn't matter whether you acquire a Venezuelan, Mexican, Brazilian citizenship, as a second one, you'd need to take on 10 years of residence in Spain, as any other foreigner outside a former Spanish colony must.
      You must have been born in a former Spanish colony to apply for the 2 year residence requirement.
      Your wife being a born Venezuelan would only needs 2 years, and even tho she does, marriage does not provide any shortcut for you, as the marriage should have been registered in Spain once she was a Spanish citizen. So you'd need the 10 year residence anyway.
      As I've read there's no need for ancestry proof, the only thing needed is for you to have been born over here (I'm Latinamerican, Mexican), as an example, P.R. citizens are acknowledge as US citizens, but they only need a birth certificate as proof of them having been born in Latin America.
