I m not with the saying that one attended 18 years or above person has to decide whether to go & where to go , certainly not by his or her parents. But if any fees or any arrears re not clear then consultancy /university reaches to knock the parent's door as their last option.why bcoz parents re still responsible in Nepal but not in Europe or Australia.

Before comparing your situation with currents students, be mind full of other factors like university fees, job market. And also we all students have clear idea of risk and return as how we compromise our risk for small return, wages.
