Probably about the nicest selection for the price range of the model type. Once you get used to it, it's hard to go back to other frames. Amazing trigger pull, smooth recoil impulse, quick to acquire target when you find your grip/familiarity.

They use the same sights on my new T.R.P. I blacked out the rears and put a green fiber optic up front. I hope yours runs better than mine did. I had to send mine to nighthawk to be pretty much tuned and rebuilt. Beautiful pistol by the way.

Great pick-up! I've always been a fan of the 1911, it was my first pistol 👍🏻 Every home should have one 😉

I have the same pistol that I purchased a few years ago. Wish I bought the newer one with the integral front strap checkering but this 1st gen has been flawless.
For me, all my 1911's run either Wilson mags or Tripp Research Cobra mags without question.

I need to check out those mags.
Are you running in Wilson 1911’s? How are those? Just curious.

I run them in my MC Operator, Kimber Custom II, Sig 1911R, and my TRP operator.
No issues in any of them.

In my experience those type of rubber grips held moisture to the frame and caused rusting on some frames. Something to be aware of. Damn fine gun sir.

Ah, that’s good to know. I heard that the grips were popular in the 80s but have since fallen from favor. Maybe due to the issue that you raised. Wonder if that’s why SA used Cerakote. 🤷🏾‍♂️ Thanks for the heads up. Appreciate you.

Very nice! Is this the first non 9 in the collection? I feel like we had a conversation at one point that you were mainly sticking with on caliber. That said, it feels like you almost HAVE to have a 1911 in 45 at some point!
Grips look to be Pachmayr branded. Great grip manufacturer for sure.
Beautiful firearm. Really like that color scheme!

You know me with randomness. I like to avoid it. 😂 But, I came to the realization that I needed a 1911 in .45 ACP.

Ok good your frist TRUE 1911 in 45 now what the 1911 gang does is upgrade your magazine to Willson combat 8rd and 10rd or ED brown 8rd magazine or Chip McCormick 8 round 10 round

I was looking at the Wilson Combat mags just last night. Someone else recommended them. They look nearly identical to what I have now but I would imagine that the quality is higher.
