Thank you so much for making these! Your videos about specific companies have honestly been a godsend. I was wondering if you had any advice for pitching an animated show to Disney. My sister has a pitch meeting with them in the coming months.
Disney has also recently gone through some major changes and corporate shifts. But I don’t have precise information yet, only industry 2nd hand news, so I didn’t want to post a report yet. Also, they have many divisions, so I can’t honestly give advice since I don’t know which division she’s meeting. Sorry I can’t be more helpful, but thank you for watching!
Congratulations on 3 years!! You rock! I wasn't aware of the Crunchyroll sale. Makese sense business wise but Tower of god and Onix Equinox looked phenomenal. A shame.
I think it's a good thing that Crunchyroll got sold. That doesn't mean it's out-of-business. It means it's now under ownership that truly understands and supports anime.
Great stuff! It's impressive that Tom Ascheim is now overseeing the whole slate. That said, do you think the restructuring will have a fundamental impact on development? Each department/ segment still seems to be lead separately (albeit running up to the same chain of command).
That's a really good question. To be honest, I don't know! I think time will tell what kind of manager he will be - whether that be deferential or tyrannical - who knows! As I get more intel or direct information on that, I'll do my best to update when it feels the right time to do so!
Hey there and thanks for watching. Can you be more specific? Are you asking about how to actually meet them or what to do if you meet them or are you asking what they're looking for? Also, are you new to the industry or are you already working in animation in some capacity?
@@SurvivingAnimation How to meet them and what do i do if i meet them? Im just a normal teenager guy but i want to be an animator if i grow upband im taking notes.
@@greylemon6231 I'd say for now just focus on training the skills that will lead to a career in animation - which will at first be the fundamentals of drawing. As you get better and your portfolio improves, then you can worry about getting a job in the industry. Once you're there, then just be yourself, be kind to others, and do great work. When you meet people organically, your reputation will go. I hope that helps!
Hey there! How do I send or ask for a pitch with Warner Bros? I have this really good idea and I just don't know how to reach them! Please advice! I really want to pitch an idea to Warner Bros!!!
Are you already a professional in the industry? If so, I would speak to your agent (or try first to get an agent) and have them set-up your meeting. If you are not yet in the industry or have not yet completed animated works on your own - I'd focus on that first! Good ideas are nice, but places like Warner Bros will only work with high level and reliable professionals. I wish you the best of luck!
@@SurvivingAnimation I'm not to say a proffesional, and my idea is for Godzilla, in which real people will act, so how do I set up a meeting with them? Are agents free? Will they accept my proposal for a meeting? If so, do I need to be of a certain age?? Please do advice!!!
Here's an interesting question: How does someone like me introduce myself to people at Warner Media? I mean it can't be as easy as knocking on the front door and saying, "Hi. I'm Frank. I have a superhero pitch. Wanna see?" lol
Hey Frank! It's not too hard to meet them. The real hard question is getting them to believe in investing in your original superhero concept when they've already got one of the most successful hero franchises in the world and close to 90 years worth of existing comics to mine that they already own.
@@SurvivingAnimation Hmm,, not to hard to meet them? So I can just set up a meeting? How would I go about that? My pitch is just around a page long... I could really use some help Eric!!!
I'm a huge fan of WB, thanks for breaking down the business behind the name. Thanks for sharing the research, and congrats on 3 years!
Thanks for watching and glad you liked it! I'll keep at it and here's to the next 3!
Thank you for the update Eric, fantastic as usual! I am happy to see the dust settling at Warner.

Well, Sony buys it & merged with Funimation.

Great update! Honestly, I excited to see where Sony takes Crunchyroll. There's so much content, but there can always be more great content.
How do you pitch an animated series to cartoon network?

Next month, WarnerMedia will merged with Discovery, Inc. as Warner Bros. Discovery.
