Me: "I'm never going to watch a 2,5 hour long guide for KCD" Me 3 hours later playing KCD: "Did he say I have to go left or right at these crossroads?" (Watches the whole guide again) It's a great guide. The instructions and explanations are really clear to follow and you got a nice sense of humor.
Man, been messing with KCD for 4 years. Always hit a wall because of limited time…but dude. You crushed it. I know the point of this game isn’t to become a wrecking machine immediately, however it’s empowering to have such a comprehensive start guide. Well done and thank you!
Hands down. This is the ULTIMATE guide of KCD. 2 years of playing this game and my 100-hour run was like crap compared to this gem 😂. I gotta do a re-run with this guide.
I really appreciate these long detailed videos. Many don’t do them cause not as many people watch them but I follow the whole videos like these. Use to be following big Zelda walk through books but being able to follow along to walkthroughs like these is amazing.
@@ZiggyTheAdventurerdude I want to thank you for your detailed and simplified walkthrough. It only took me 5 days to complete your 2hr30min walk through thanks again.
@@ZiggyTheAdventurer5 actual days I can't even count how many runs, I finally managed to finish everything as you did on the video by the time I got back to the mill it was 7 in game days.
Started the Game several times (and i got it a damn long time now...) and never got real far. This Guide is gold! I have so much fun now. Thank you for this! Helped so much. Great work. Absolute Gold.
Finished part one tonight took about 4hours total playtime as this is my first time playing this game and getting past the prologue I only have 2 deaths both from archers getting the golden spurs lol everything was relatively easy to follow but somehow I lost bernas cup so whoops hopefully that pops up soon thanks for the guide was super fun to follow happy and sad it’s over but excited to play the game for real now for the first time
I’ve owned this game since it first came out. Tried playing it and after about 4 hours I realized how time intensive this thing is. I put it down in the hopes that life would slow down enough so I can really let myself get immersed in this world. I saw the announcement for KCD2 today and realized I need to get a play through going of KCD1! I’m glad I found this guide. Thank you for taking your time out and creating this! Lockpicking in this game is brutal, initially. Thankfully I saw it mentioned that it’s easier if the sweet spot is close to the center. That helped out a ton. Also, I was treating saves like I did in Skyrim. Needless to say Henry was shitfaced and I was confused for a very long time lol Heads up to anyone trying this guide and playing the game for the first time: if you save and reload at the first chest you come to right after leaving Talmberg the poacher will be there. So save right after you convince the guard to let you out and reload from that point so you don’t have to fight the dude if you mess up with the lock pick
Just got the game a few days ago beat it and my god I love it, Im on part four of your walk through on my second run and you are a champ man. These guides are fantastic.
Playing this for the first time and this guide is absolutely awesome bro thank you so much. I'm at 1:50 which has taken me 8 hours because failed at lock picking alot and would reload every time I broke 1 lock pick not knowing that we would get a bunch more later on and because of how the save system works I didn't want to waste the saving potion so I would save and quit to save which meant every time I failed I would have to either get killed which was easy with enemies around but if not I had to close the game and boot it up again which of course took forever and was driving me crazy. Now that I am at this point of the video I realised that wasting a few resources here and there isn't a big deal as we are cashed up and the resources will be easy to replace so I'm able to follow the guide at a much quicker pace. Now I'm just keen to finish up the guide so I can explore on my own and meet all the different characters and explore all the dioluge, this game so far feels like I'm playing a medieval movie when it comes to the story and characters which is great.
Might be an update or something, but at 1:07:00 When talking to the Stable Master there is an dialogue option "any work around here" which starts the "The Horse That Bolted Quest" where the stable master talks about Vashayk ... He didnt spawn in my game until after I started this quest. It will also give you a marker to Vashayk if you are having trouble finding him in your games as well
there has been no update in years but that is an easy way to find Vashayk and a fun quest. if you are looking for Vashayk he is either on the east side of the barn, in the house eating, fixing the fence out front of his house, walking to or at the tavern. but using the horse that bolted quest marker is a great tip, thanks
@@ZiggyTheAdventurer Ah! makes sense, I just wandered around looking for him forever and then stumbled upon the quest and it made it easier for me... excellent video mate... now to get my strength up so im not overweight anytime i pick up anything haha!
First time player man this guide has been great! I have such a better understanding of the game. I’m about halfway through the vid. Thank you sir excellent guide!
I just bought this game and i haven't started any quests. I just followed this guide as best I could. It has taken me 2 days because of trying to get to grips with all the machanics, but Ziggy this was a truly fantastic guide, you have given me a head start on my medievil adventure. Outstanding work Ziggy, big thanks from me. Now for part 2.
thanks, I'm glad to hear that. This has been a long time in the making, every time I make one I find something else I should have done or someone points something out. this is (I think) version 5. I'm pretty happy with this though so hopefully it stands as the final one
Hey man, I followed everything in this video, and it wasn't problematic as it looked at first glance to be. After the latest update of KCD where I was already pretty ahead, my saves weren't working properly, so this guide was ideal for me. Thanks again, you deserve more subs mate!
thanks, I'm glad to see it helping people. also I never beg for likes or subs, I just enjoy making the videos and let it happen organically. it took me 5 yrs to get 1000 subs but in the last year I've gotten 2000 more. So it's coming along. and thanks again for the nice comment
Love your guide. I botched it slightly, missed a few items and I'm only about halfway through. I have returned to Talmberg to get the quest from Stefanie and retrieve my saddle. Your video is 2 1/2 hrs, I've been pausing and re-watching bits to make sure I go the right way etc for about 5 hrs and I still have an hour of the guide to get through. Totally worth the time I'm putting in. Glad you took the time to make the guide, especially for kcd noobs like me. Thank you good sir.
Welp I’m already starting my second character 😂 so we are back after just finishing this time will be much faster and efficient though I ended up selling some things I really want and wasted some level up points and don’t want to wait for a reset potion so here we are back to being a basic virgin that can’t read 😂 this game is now I’m my top 5 and this guide is a big reason why
Yeah I took a lot for granted and thought I should redo it. and actually this is like my 5th attempt at this video. and as for the covers. I enjoy making them and I actually put a lot of work into them so thanks for noticing them.
This is great start. Even though it was 2+ hrs it was packed with a lot more and actually watched the whole thing no problem. Had to back track a little cuz I wasn’t paying attention and forgot to buy the horse potion lmao. Great vid! Subbed!
I'm already into the open world, up to the lumpy chase, so I'm going through what you did now, Huntsman, graves, Sheba sword... now back to the open world part. You've made me more confident with the locks now, because your journey forces you to do it, getting them everytime now.
it's basically the same run but I've changed the timing a bit and show the map more as I had complaints that the original one was hard to follow. this one is more follow friendly. and thanks for your support
I’ve tried six times to ride to merhojed from the “run” quest start. My horse always without fail tosses his head around there and slows me down enough to let the bleed catch up. Devs might have soft locked it now.
I found a locked box before visiting the tavern but never received lockpicks. Not sure if they patched that out of the game or if it's unique to my playthrough but felt it worth mentioning. Thanks for this!
I gave up on tbe game years ago because it was pretty rough. Since the second one is coming soon i wanted to restart and try again and your video was the guide i needed all along..Thanks!
Best Guide Ever renewed my interest in game once again much secrets i learned from you oh wisest Sage!! thank you for your time to put forth such amazing guide
I just picked this game up for like 3$ it was on sale. And I’m just now starting the journey after watching… yes almost every minute of this. Three times. I’m just amazed bro. No homo but your voice and listening to your narration bro is very appealing on the ears man. You should do more videos like this your so damn beginner friendly man like step by step you show it and explain and you do all that in such a quick window it’s 1000% bro. No bullshit or dragged out or painless waiting or bullshit like that . Boom quick and to the point man. Love it. Couldn’t feel enough giving you a sub and a like so I gone back and watched multiple times to help if that does idk. But cheers man! Thank you again! Legend!
Wow, thanks so much. this is like the 5th video on this game I've made, because I listen to people and together we've made a user friendly straight forward starter video. it's a combination of me and all the commenters that got us here. so thanks for the kind words. It's good to know we finally made a pretty good guide.
Didn't get the fight scene in the woods at 1:35:35, reloaded and tried a little earlier, and later, no joy. Great guide video though, I've enjoyed working through it and learned a lot. Many thanks.
you can go to the hay shack I fight off of and save there, then travel to Rovna and back to the Monastery to retrigger the fight. If it doesn't work reload your save and do it again, that way you wont lose too much off the clock. it should retrigger the fight because it is random. "and thanks for the comment"
cheers for the guide , i usually get to a point and stop cos i can’t do anything , followed this right through to the end , i should be able to survive now lol i wanted to finish this before the 2nd comes out and now i feel i’ll be able too
Bro... We are now broskis. I was sick as a dog today but I managed to get through this. The only parts I missed were the two bandit camps because you didn't mark the spot on the map where you picked up the bow and I was too delirious to follow your path in-game. I might go back tomorrow and see if i can figure it out. Otherwise, kudos. I seriously doubted that I would be able to get the horse tack on the side of the mountain at the end but I ended up getting it on the third try. Thanks so much. I preordered this game back in the day but I only got like 15 hours in and then I got pneumonia and I couldn't play for a couple weeks, then I never went back until today... For some strange reason. I appreciated the guide immensely.
This guide is awesome, I have just decided to play on hard mode with every negative perk. This makes it a bit more challenging since I cannot quick travel and everytime I sleep there are nightmares and I awake on another spot :D
@@ZiggyTheAdventurer Hahaha great place, you found another secret :D But dude for real, it feels like you are born in this game x). Your guides are awesome and you know every tree and corner. Helped me alot ty. I just started the game recently but it is so great detailed and also historical. It was really underrated on Release. It can easy compete with all top RPG Titles. I develop a real passion for it and looking forward to Part 2.
This was exactly what I needed to get back in and finish this game before KCDII comes out. It was entertaining and you're a funny dude and made starting again a breeze even if I fucked it up at the end by starting the Theresa flashback.
Glad to see you back in the saddle. also you can, and should do any side quest you want while doing this. after any side quest just fall back to where you were. I was just hurrying up for the sake of the video. but it's probably better to do the run and then side quest when you're buffed up and have more cash. it really doesn't matter.
After a couple hundred hours playing this game on PC, I put it down. I watched this video (in its entirety) and decided to order it on the switch. The cartridge came in yesterday. I’m now playing along with this guide. I do not know whether to bless you or curse you. 😅 Thank you, either way!
Fantastic guide bro! Loved it man you were easy to listen to and this guide bro you killed it man! So easy to follow I made several hiccups and the game froze on the pause screen once but it was minor. I wasn’t gonna do part 2 but fuck it! I had fun following along. It was like a scavenger hunt! 🤣 thanks again cheers dude!
Top-notch starter guide! Systematic, efficient and very informative as always. Thanks Ziggy! I'm gonna follow this on my Hardcore all negative perks playthrough.
This may have been mentioned; the closer to center your icon is when lockpickin (the ball), the easier it is. If you find it way on the outside, back out of the pickin, then re engage, until you find it closer to center. If you're havin trouble with pickin
Any other tips… ‘cause… he said lock picking is the the single most important thing, and lock picking is the single worst most asinine component for me so far on console:
It took me 16 hours to complete this. Actually, it was more. I don’t know how much more because I really don’t remember how many times I had to reload a save after breaking a lock pick or dying to those bandits on the road and the bandits on the side of the river. Well worth it.
This video was so good! It made me play again. So when it first came out I played the crap out of it and was decent. Although it was difficult. I mean it’s not an easy game and a bit more realistic. But for some reason I went to the charcoal burners sight where a lot of bandits are got completely destroyed quite because I hadn’t saved in for a bit never picked it up till now. This guide is excellent and helped me get started again.
you can discover the whole map (except for talmberg, as it gona trigger the next cutscene while skipping the "get shot in the leg and ride to talmberg" part) within the prolog with no ingame time passing, if you leave the area right after you picked your first horse without triggering the cutscene. unfortunatly most of the quest arn't available at this point, but you can do a few and once you got everything you want you can go back to skarlitz and trigger the cutscenes
th-cam.com/video/P_5B5OuNcDw/w-d-xo.html when I do that I randomly get shot by an arrow once i get too far away from the area. So I'm not sure how you do it
@@ZiggyTheAdventurerRide further along the path toward the next cutscene trigger, until you spot another horse then turn right and you see a big compond with a low wall between two buildings, jump over that low wall. There are bandits in there so beware. Also you can get a faster horse than default if you head right immedidiatly after the attack on skalitz cutscene, you should see a lone horse, that is not the horse. Run past it and cross the river and mount the other dark saddleless horse on the other side of the river. It is faster enough than the default horse that it makes exploring the map more tolerable than with a slower horse.
Man this guide is so dope bro you deserve the recognition man, you know every step ahead so on point man you crack me up. Hey it’s me, I’m me, me I’m here hey I’m me here I am. Ohhh can we talk now. Hey…. Are you that one kid….. Yes that’s me . Lol
Ive tried to crack this game on my own several times over the years. I always end up broke, bloody and discouraged. Sorry to the purists, but thats not my idea of fun! I'll be starting a fresh game and following this guide to the letter. Thank you sir!
good info good spots for important things i followed almost all the way thru i made a few mistakes and messed up my run slightly but still got kitted out got alot yo selll and now its more so for me gettibg my strength and reading then work the other stats great play thru
I'm attempting to rob the humtsman, but he's working and is so slow. Does he stop for lunch? My energy is depleting. Guess i can back later. Love your content...this is a difficult game and your recent guide is incredibly helpful. Pesky patches. Thank you so much for all your effort, you are appreciated.
Although I've already commented here, I've seemingly learned a tip for finding the treasure chests in the dark if you happen to be travelling at night. (Can't recall if Ziggy mentioned it in his original #1 super run walkthrough.) There seem to always be fireflies by a locked chest in the wilderness, my testing is not extensive, and may just be a happy coincidence, but it's happened three times so far, and that's one more coincidence than a Boeing whistleblower so it's good enough for me.
haha, and I didn't know that. I'll have to keep an eye out for that. I have seen fireflies where there is no treasure so it's not always. but north east hill from Ledetchko has fire flies at night. it's worth a look. and thanks
Thank you bro. I am at level 5 and just lock picking like crazy. The beginning was rough but I only picked locks at certain parts of the lock I was comfortable with. Now I am level 6. Real big help. Can't wait for your tips for KCD 2. And you got a new subscriber
In general, I have found it easier to do a tough climb on foot rather than on horseback. Henry is closer to the ground with a better chance of seeing the terrain underfoot. He has a better chance of squeezing through the shrubs. Plus a biped needs less of a foothold than a horse. I admire how you were able to walk the horse to the same ledge as the nest. I walked Henry to the ledge just below the nest. He can jump up from there and onto the nearby shrub but it is a tense moment. I advise anyone to Save Game before risking a lethal tumble down the slope.
yeah I used to walk it too but I got seriously hurt a few times and found with the horse I never get hurt. but anyway you do it is fine as long as you get the stuff 👍
I found I was able to do a good amount of stealth leveling and lock picking during the night when you get woken up to check the walls. A lot of npcs are sleeping so easy to knock out. Most guards aren’t around some are sleeping so good for some gear. And for lock picking there is a door right next to the bed that is very easy to pick and it gets relocked if you shut it. After a few minutes so go around knocking the others out and come back. 👍 and even in the start of the morning before the army comes you can still do some things
@@ZiggyTheAdventurer ah thank you for the speedy reply even though it’s been 3 months this guide is still super helpful and fun to follow thank you ziggy!
I agree with not trying to maximize any skills during the Skalitz intro. You can pick up 6 effortless skill points in the larger world by two methods. The maximum for any skill is level 20. After levels 5, 10, and 15 you can get a boost from an NPC skill trainer. PLUS you can get another boost by reading a "skill book" at those levels. You do have to pay for the training and may have to buy the books. But that's what coin is for. If you tried to hit max 20 while in Skalitz then you've invested a total 6 levels of grinding points, instead of gaining those levels with little or no effort at all. Besides, you will continue to exercise some skills long after the level cap.
As someone who’s about 3 hours in and wants to enjoy myself but doesn’t want to have a terrible/unnecessarily hard run, how necessary is most of this for the beginning of the game? I didn’t get the best saddle for instance and I didn’t do my stat points in the ways that you did. Will some of this make the game extra challenging for a new player going forward, or is it better to just enjoy and try it for myself my first playthrough?
no you don't need anything i have, the saddle will be helpful but you'll make enough money to buy one from this run. I actually recommend to take your time and listen to the cut scenes. maybe watch from where you are to see if there is something you might miss that will be helpful. it'd be nice to get the horse though
@@ZiggyTheAdventurer thanks for the reply! I may restart considering I’m not terribly far in I think some of this could give me a little head start. Been loving the dialogue and cut scenes though and am kicking myself for putting this game off for so long
I usually put it on after I talk to the dude in Rovna, after I read the books (around 1:30) that way when I fight from the roof of the shack I have some protection. but in this run I didn't gear up until after I found the horse armor @ 2:10
Thanks for this. In my 25+ years of playing on a PC I have never taken the time to watch a play through video let alone a 2.5 hour one. This was very helpful. Now I can start playing the game. P.S- Climbing that rocky hill at the end was just ridiculous. What were the programmers thinking?
It might be worth mentioning that if you're in a hardcore game the chests have different drops. So in the chest under the cabin after the battle I didn't get the leg plate. I also didn't get the Herc book either.
@@Disgised_wolf293 It wasn't when I followed this run through on normal mode. It was in one of the chests, in hardcore you can get it from the Apothecary in Rattay. I was making the point that the drops are different. I also didn't get the Quartered combat jacket from the cave drop up where you ask the family about the missing priest quest either. On a normal run I got exactly what was in this video. but not on hardcore. and that was my point.
@@ZiggyTheAdventurer Yes it takes a little getting used to. Navigation isn't that bad if you have half a clue about RL nav. Combat instead of looking at the reticle to know where you're hitting from you look at your arm.
@@ZiggyTheAdventurer awesome thank you so much!! I was just a little past the opening so I restarted so I follow your guide and get hooked up. Thanks for the awesome video. Look forward to watching more
Great run thanks for the video, I started my 3rd playthrough on hardcore and I spent about 6h in skallitz, even messed up the lockpicking part as I beat up kunesh and didn't want to restart. My next main quest is The Prey but I already got all leipa armor pieces, will follow your video to get the horse and all the loot. What do you think about the leipa armor?
the Tournament Set you mean ? I've never got it because I have never won the Tourney. I always put all my effort into the Bow. I need to try it, it looks amazing. to be honest I only use armor for the look. The set i have at the start is usually the stuff I keep for the whole game except for the Magic Cuman Helmet and Magical Cuman Disguise. but once again it's just for the look.
@@ZiggyTheAdventurer Yes from the tournament, I also do it so I can make some money (~900 every win) but going for the chests like you seems more efficient The only downside is that it's not a complete set like warhorse, it only has the plated pieces, but no cloth pieces like chausses and hood
Bought this game years ago, never got far. Rage quit several times early on because I couldn't get the hang of lock picking. Drove me nuts. Your guide made me pick the game back up and see if this time I could get a little further than the prologue. Finally did and even got the lock picking down. Am about 1 hour 40 minutes in.🙂 One thing that is still driving me crazy though; archery. For the life of me I cannot get a hit with the bow. Standing on a roof with an enemy three feet away virtually motionless and I get about one hit for each 15-20 arrows (and those rare hits often just hit the armor of the enemy). I simply cannot do it. Rage quit earlier, might try again later, but I was having so much fun with your guide actually thinking this time I would really get into the fun. Stupid bow is ruining it... That's obviously not on you though, the guide is fantastic!
@ZiggyTheAdventurer so im at the part where you finally read the Hercules book, and I think I left my book in rattay. I was wondering, do you think I should go get the book and pick back up there, or should I just skip this part for now?
you need 2 strength to use the bow, that book will give you 1 more strength, if you don't have 2 strength, you'll need it. if you want it you can buy the book at the armorer in Rattay.
@@ZiggyTheAdventurer Appreciate the response, also appreciate your work on this video! It has been very helpful and we can tell its well thought out and you have alot of experience in the game. Makes it much easier for new players to set off on the right foot without spending hours in skelitz picking flowers and being a murder hobo for some xp and a little money. Thank you brother, hope you keep up the videos!
Best starter guide out there. Alternative horse is a level 4 from neuhof Bucephalus, great courage and only a bit slower but good stamina..... and its black, too many mottle white horses, this one looks great
Shadowfax and Shadowmere from the Pribyslavitz stables (From the Ashes DLC) are just as fast as Pegasus and they have much higher capacity and stamina. Plus they are not white! I hate those blinding ears when you ride through the forest with a torch at night.
@HelenaCross Recently I found Podagros from Merhojed as my favorite horse, it's only tier 3 because the courage is very low but the other specs are reasonably high. For me it has two advantages, instead of building the stables in Pribyslavitz I can go for the guardhouse (which gives a combat arena where you can sparr with different level opponents) and with all the best equipment except the horseshoes (second best), you get a top speed of 65, that seems to be the sweet spot for not constantly trampling the dog when travelling. The courage will be 15 with the best bridle and max skill, that's alright.
Firstly I want to say you did a great job with all this! Thank you man. Secondly me being me, I cant get any golden spurs, any advice from where else i can get them? Thanks.
if you finish the Tournament Hans will give you a set. but i suggest to just keep trying south of Rovna, you will get a set and loot valuable gear at the same time. here: 1:35:10
@@ZiggyTheAdventurer thank you for the answer, the problem is I never get them there. :( I always loot corpses but no one drop them. I will keep try to do the fight I guess.
it is base game friendly. you wont get the Warhorse gear from the DLC Treasures of the Past. but it's only cosmetic. also I only wear 2 pieces of it and just for color. not at all needed
thanks for the guide, really helpful for a noob. I was following the previous one & was struggling a bit with a few spots on the map, then you just uploaded this one. only problem is Idk how to loot the Moldavite, the archer is there with the other guy. Any tip?
get in the tree and go for the Archer first, or if you're having trouble beating him pass time to night and just sneak in and rob the chest. or get them to chase you on your horse until they're far enough away that you can rob the chest before they get back.
Hey Ziggy, I am looking for a 100% Completionist Walkthrough. I'm 42 years old, and I've always been almost driven crazy if I miss a single obtainable item, or quest. I plan to buy the complete game with all DLC. Do you have a 100% walkthrough on your channel? Thanks for your time!
just keep going, she's s bitch sometimes. you only need it to open the chest with the St George Sword, you don't need it. just keep using the the sword you have. get it later if you want it
@ZiggyTheAdventurer dude it's wild how down to the T this guide is. Cuz obviously I am taking a bit longer figuring things out and the way you set it up you get exactly where you need to be for the character to be in that area. The work put into this (or just deep knowledge of the game) must be a shit ton. Thanks again. Def gonna just use this and go off from there, I am one of those folks who tried and gave up initially.
@ZiggyTheAdventurer yup that'll do it haha must have taken me 15 tries without taking the saddle off. Loved the video great work very comprehensive when I paid attention haha
As a massive mediaeval/ buhurt/ Witcher fan, I'm fricken lovein this game So far, it needs a modding community to add and address a few things but so far it's a 9.5/10

Me: "I'm never going to watch a 2,5 hour long guide for KCD"
Me 3 hours later playing KCD: "Did he say I have to go left or right at these crossroads?" (Watches the whole guide again)
It's a great guide. The instructions and explanations are really clear to follow and you got a nice sense of humor.
so funny and thanks so much for your kind words.
it's comments like this that keep me going. thank u
Man, been messing with KCD for 4 years. Always hit a wall because of limited time…but dude. You crushed it. I know the point of this game isn’t to become a wrecking machine immediately, however it’s empowering to have such a comprehensive start guide. Well done and thank you!
No problem Bro, thanks for the nice comment.
Why not become a wrecking ball straight away. The game is punishing as all get out if you're not tough, I prefer to dish it out.
Hands down. This is the ULTIMATE guide of KCD. 2 years of playing this game and my 100-hour run was like crap compared to this gem 😂.
I gotta do a re-run with this guide.
thanks so much for the kind words, and I'm working on some more stuff for this game
I really appreciate these long detailed videos. Many don’t do them cause not as many people watch them but I follow the whole videos like these. Use to be following big Zelda walk through books but being able to follow along to walkthroughs like these is amazing.
well get ready because i just put up a 3hr walkthrough of Pribyslavitz :)

@@rudylima7013 lol. well you did it and now you're a better, more experienced man for it all. the rest of the game will feel easy now
have been struggling so much in this game but I love it and I was determined to keep playing. Your video helped me out so much! Thank you! 😊
It was a lot of work to figure this all out. but knowing it helps people is all worth it. thanks for the comment
You are too hard on yourself. This made me play this game again. I had given up because I was struggling. Thanks for this walkthrough.
thanks, it's comments like this that make it all worth while 🥰
Started the Game several times (and i got it a damn long time now...) and never got real far. This Guide is gold! I have so much fun now. Thank you for this! Helped so much. Great work. Absolute Gold.
No probs buddy
Finished part one tonight took about 4hours total playtime as this is my first time playing this game and getting past the prologue I only have 2 deaths both from archers getting the golden spurs lol everything was relatively easy to follow but somehow I lost bernas cup so whoops hopefully that pops up soon thanks for the guide was super fun to follow happy and sad it’s over but excited to play the game for real now for the first time
f Bearns cup, he wont even know. it's not a big deal. but check venders you dealt with they might still have the cup. no big deal though
Needless to say Henry was shitfaced and I was confused for a very long time lol
Heads up to anyone trying this guide and playing the game for the first time: if you save and reload at the first chest you come to right after leaving Talmberg the poacher will be there. So save right after you convince the guard to let you out and reload from that point so you don’t have to fight the dude if you mess up with the lock pick
good point, and thanks for the comment
Just got the game a few days ago beat it and my god I love it, Im on part four of your walk through on my second run and you are a champ man. These guides are fantastic.
thanks so much. I enjoy making them and to know it's helping people is an extra bonus, so we both win.
Now I'm just keen to finish up the guide so I can explore on my own and meet all the different characters and explore all the dioluge, this game so far feels like I'm playing a medieval movie when it comes to the story and characters which is great.
glad you got the lockpicking down. I bet you're on console. anyhow, have fun bro and thanks for the kind words
Dude you’ve made conquering this game a branch of science. I’m thoroughly impressed!
that's so kind of you, thank-you 😀
Might be an update or something, but at 1:07:00 When talking to the Stable Master there is an dialogue option "any work around here" which starts the "The Horse That Bolted Quest" where the stable master talks about Vashayk ...

Like my man, you've made the best KDC guide on TH-cam, good job!! I like how jt doesnt target Skalitz or anything. All in All, a splendid video bro.

Hey, Ziggy. Had watched your play through before. Can't wait to see this and start a new campaign
it's basically the same run but I've changed the timing a bit and show the map more as I had complaints that the original one was hard to follow. this one is more follow friendly. and thanks for your support
I’ve tried six times to ride to merhojed from the “run” quest start. My horse always without fail tosses his head around there and slows me down enough to let the bleed catch up. Devs might have soft locked it now.
make sure you have no saddle on, that's what's wrong.
I found a locked box before visiting the tavern but never received lockpicks. Not sure if they patched that out of the game or if it's unique to my playthrough but felt it worth mentioning. Thanks for this!

Wow, thanks so much. this is like the 5th video on this game I've made, because I listen to people and together we've made a user friendly straight forward starter video. it's a combination of me and all the commenters that got us here. so thanks for the kind words.

This may have been mentioned; the closer to center your icon is when lockpickin (the ball), the easier it is. If you find it way on the outside, back out of the pickin, then re engage, until you find it closer to center. If you're havin trouble with pickin

It took me 16 hours to complete this. Actually, it was more. I don’t know how much more because I really don’t remember how many times I had to reload a save after breaking a lock pick or dying to those bandits on the road and the bandits on the side of the river. Well worth it.
sorry to hear you had trouble but it gets easier as you go. can i ask, are you using a controller ?
This video was so good! It made me play again. So when it first came out I played the crap out of it and was decent. Although it was difficult. I mean it’s not an easy game and a bit more realistic. But for some reason I went to the charcoal burners sight where a lot of bandits are got completely destroyed quite because I hadn’t saved in for a bit never picked it up till now. This guide is excellent and helped me get started again.
thanks for the nice comment
you can discover the whole map (except for talmberg, as it gona trigger the next cutscene while skipping the "get shot in the leg and ride to talmberg" part) within the prolog with no ingame time passing, if you leave the area right after you picked your first horse without triggering the cutscene. unfortunatly most of the quest arn't available at this point, but you can do a few and once you got everything you want you can go back to skarlitz and trigger the cutscenes
th-cam.com/video/P_5B5OuNcDw/w-d-xo.html
when I do that I randomly get shot by an arrow once i get too far away from the area.

I have seen fireflies where there is no treasure so it's not always. but north east hill from Ledetchko has fire flies at night. it's worth a look. and thanks

Holy moly I only just made it to the tan marker haha I had like one seconds worth of blood left hoo whee
you needed to drop the old saddle off your horse, I neglected to say that which was a huge mistake on my part
👍 and even in the start of the morning before the army comes you can still do some things
yeah, nicely done. I totally recommend doing stuff like this when you have the chance. thanks for the tips

you're welcome, i love doing these videos and helping people like you.
@@ZiggyTheAdventurerThey help massively ❤
I agree with not trying to maximize any skills during the Skalitz intro. You can pick up 6 effortless skill points in the larger world by two methods.
The maximum for any skill is level 20. After levels 5, 10, and 15 you can get a boost from an NPC skill trainer.
PLUS you can get another boost by reading a "skill book" at those levels. You do have to pay for the training and may have to buy the books. But that's what coin is for.
If you tried to hit max 20 while in Skalitz then you've invested a total 6 levels of grinding points, instead of gaining those levels with little or no effort at all.
Besides, you will continue to exercise some skills long after the level cap.
plus: there's no sense being leveled up at a point where you don't actually need it, waste of time
As someone who’s about 3 hours in and wants to enjoy myself but doesn’t want to have a terrible/unnecessarily hard run, how necessary is most of this for the beginning of the game? I didn’t get the best saddle for instance and I didn’t do my stat points in the ways that you did. Will some of this make the game extra challenging for a new player going forward, or is it better to just enjoy and try it for myself my first playthrough?
no you don't need anything i have, the saddle will be helpful but you'll make enough money to buy one from this run. I actually recommend to take your time and listen to the cut scenes. maybe watch from where you are to see if there is something you might miss that will be helpful. it'd be nice to get the horse though

It might be worth mentioning that if you're in a hardcore game the chests have different drops. So in the chest under the cabin after the battle I didn't get the leg plate. I also didn't get the Herc book either.
I don't think the herc book is from a chest
@@Disgised_wolf293 It wasn't when I followed this run through on normal mode. It was in one of the chests, in hardcore you can get it from the Apothecary in Rattay. I was making the point that the drops are different. I also didn't get the Quartered combat jacket from the cave drop up where you ask the family about the missing priest quest either. On a normal run I got exactly what was in this video. but not on hardcore. and that was my point.
yeah it's all different, I only tried hardcore once and got my ass served :(
@@ZiggyTheAdventurer Yes it takes a little getting used to. Navigation isn't that bad if you have half a clue about RL nav. Combat instead of looking at the reticle to know where you're hitting from you look at your arm.
Now this won’t affect the story any will it ? I recently started playing this game so I love your guide
nope, you're good
@@ZiggyTheAdventurer awesome thank you so much!! I was just a little past the opening so I restarted so I follow your guide and get hooked up. Thanks for the awesome video. Look forward to watching more
appreciate the guide man much love
thanks for the love, much appreciated
The horse runs out of stamina, and you bleed out right before the marker EVERY TIME
you have the saddle on your horse. make sure you get put the noble saddle in your inventory and drop or unequip the plain saddle.
@@ZiggyTheAdventurer thanks it worked 😎
Would you make a part two to this? I enjoyed watching you play and it was very helpful.
it's in the description

@@ZiggyTheAdventurer I found it and felt like an idgit after 😂 the time stamps threw me off
Great run thanks for the video, I started my 3rd playthrough on hardcore and I spent about 6h in skallitz, even messed up the lockpicking part as I beat up kunesh and didn't want to restart.
@@ZiggyTheAdventurer Yes from the tournament, I also do it so I can make some money (~900 every win) but going for the chests like you seems more efficient
The only downside is that it's not a complete set like warhorse, it only has the plated pieces, but no cloth pieces like chausses and hood
Fantastic guide my friend, thanks.
glad it helped you
Bought this game years ago, never got far. Rage quit several times early on because I couldn't get the hang of lock picking. Drove me nuts. Your guide made me pick the game back up and see if this time I could get a little further than the prologue. Finally did and even got the lock picking down. Am about 1 hour 40 minutes in.🙂
One thing that is still driving me crazy though; archery.
That's obviously not on you though, the guide is fantastic!
well if you can make it to part 2, we upgrade the bow and it gets easier. As you level up you'll find it gets easier. hang in there bro, you got this
Might be the most fresh starter guide ive found so far.
Thanks for making it
I appreciate the comment, thanks
How did you get all the weapons that you sold? I’m in rattay trying to get money for horse and didn’t have any of the weapons you sold at first
you had to follow the run I think you might have missed the stuff at 35:54
you might have to go back a few saves to get them
@@ZiggyTheAdventurer yes, thank you so much for the response
Best starter guide out there.
Alternative horse is a level 4 from neuhof Bucephalus, great courage and only a bit slower but good stamina..... and its black, too many mottle white horses, this one looks great
thanks
Shadowfax and Shadowmere from the Pribyslavitz stables (From the Ashes DLC) are just as fast as Pegasus and they have much higher capacity and stamina.
Plus they are not white! I hate those blinding ears when you ride through the forest with a torch at night.
yeah, when It's open I will change horses, and thanks for the tip
@HelenaCross
Recently I found Podagros from Merhojed as my favorite horse, it's only tier 3 because the courage is very low but the other specs are reasonably high.
This is great, you deserve more subs
thanks so much, maybe someday
Firstly I want to say you did a great job with all this! Thank you man.
Secondly me being me, I cant get any golden spurs, any advice from where else i can get them? Thanks.
if you finish the Tournament Hans will give you a set. but i suggest to just keep trying south of Rovna, you will get a set and loot valuable gear at the same time. here: 1:35:10
@@ZiggyTheAdventurer thank you for the answer, the problem is I never get them there. :( I always loot corpses but no one drop them. I will keep try to do the fight I guess.
it is the best place to get the spurs, just keep picking up your arrows and you can spend all day there
Can I follow this guide without any dlc? Or will I be missing out too much? I just bought the base game (discount on ps store)
it is base game friendly. you wont get the Warhorse gear from the DLC Treasures of the Past. but it's only cosmetic. also I only wear 2 pieces of it and just for color. not at all needed
@@ZiggyTheAdventurer thank you, the guide is awesome!
thanks for the guide, really helpful for a noob.
Thanks for your time!
you're talking 100hrs. it's a little much there are so many side quests. I haven't even done them all myself
what if the herb woman doesnt have the padfoot potion in sale? just followed the whole thing and this is where im stuck
just keep going, she's s bitch sometimes. you only need it to open the chest with the St George Sword, you don't need it. just keep using the the sword you have. get it later if you want it
@@ZiggyTheAdventurer tyvm !
Fantastic guide! For whatever the reason the Huntsman is not going inside, lol. But thanks man, this is excellent.
don't worry about him, just visit him next time you're in Talmberg
@ZiggyTheAdventurer dude it's wild how down to the T this guide is. Cuz obviously I am taking a bit longer figuring things out and the way you set it up you get exactly where you need to be for the character to be in that area. The work put into this (or just deep knowledge of the game) must be a shit ton. Thanks again. Def gonna just use this and go off from there, I am one of those folks who tried and gave up initially.
Am i missing something the initail horse run to medj seems impossible bleed out just before hitting the castle every time
make sure you don't have a saddle on your horse. Put the noble saddle in your inventory and then drop the other saddle
@ZiggyTheAdventurer yup that'll do it haha must have taken me 15 tries without taking the saddle off. Loved the video great work very comprehensive when I paid attention haha
As a massive mediaeval/ buhurt/ Witcher fan, I'm fricken lovein this game So far, it needs a modding community to add and address a few things but so far it's a 9.5/10
I totally agree
Excellent playlist, really helpful. Do you have any content for the DLCs?
no I don't, sorry
@@ZiggyTheAdventurer would definitely watch if that was ever available
I wish I had found your video earlier... 😂 Great guide!
thanks for the view :)
That grave with large skull, I think it's a Hobbit reference, cause is the Stinger sword, like a hobbit sounding weapon name?
good info, I was always curious what that was about
The trailer park boys references were fire.
glad to see you caught those 🤣
