    The first fashion question was answered with 'what you wear is a reflection of who you are and how you feel". No thought given to the idea that you wear clothes based on who you are, what you feel, and how much it costs.

    Wow, that was as awkward as hell. Two reasons:
    1. She responds to Seinfeld’s questions as if they were hidden insults and she gets defensive and looks for a brutally powerful comeback line. Insecurity is not fun to watch. We all have friends like that: “Did you bake the cake yourself?” “Are you implying the cake was awful?”
    2. Her answers are brutally short and she often disqualifies the question altogether.
    Once her father gets on stage, her behavior changes and she starts to feel comfortable, express herself and engage the audience. So perhaps it was a case of bad chemistry with Mr. Seinfeld.
    I believe it’s fascinating that even people who are talented, successful, intelligent and adorable can feel insecure.

      It's your opinion she's insecure. The fact is certain circles are bitchy and some people like giving back handed insults. Stella is bright and has experience of these kinds of people. So I think she understood where Seinfeld is coming from, and gave as good as she got. I'm glad she stands up for herself, against Seinfeld's supposed comedy.

    You know what the funny thing is. Stella has never worked a normal job or anything or hasn't done anything to get up enough money to become a extremely successful fashion designer. (Don't tell me that I don't know that, I already looked it up) so what that proves or tells me is that her dad basically payed for her career, because I'm pretty certain that she COULD NOT have made her own fashion line all by herself out of nowhere without having a job before that. And she is very very very rude, almost every question that was asked... she questioned it when the question wasnt that bad at all.

    Just thinking that Conan O'Brien would be x100 better then Seinfeld for these events in general. They interview people for a living and they're comedians. Stella has so much of her parents in her - her mother's grace, quiet strength and intelligence, and her father's sharp wit, droll sense of humour, and gift for repartee. Jerry Seinfeld thought he'd show off his comedic talent at her expense - but he sure chose the wrong person to do this to. I loved it when Dad came on stage at the end and delivered the knockout punch to Seinfeld for "grilling" his daughter. What an amazing family the McCartneys are.

    • @Lorieellesh
      @Lorieellesh 9 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      +Soocheang What grace did Linda have? She was uncomfortable in interviews, appeared sometimes to be almost constipated. And how in the world would you know about her strength and intelligence? I read that she never even picked up a book in school; although that could be wrong, of course. Her daughter does a much better job of it, which stands to reason, as Linda was only really known, because she was Paul's wife.

In fact, they seem to be entirely in on the joke and Paul seems to be mock upset. I've seen reactions to this video that criticise Jerry for being condescending and for pissing off Paul. Personally I don't see it. Also, I think the McCartneys and Seinfelds are friends.
    On another note, it's rare, getting a chance to see Paul's bald spot. Also, he's now well into his 70's, so he should probably quit it with the Just For Men.

      No, Jerry Seinfeld is a unaware comedian doing his part interviewing a fashion designer. Neither is in the wrong. You can't expect a full-time comedian to interview you properly, poor guy is doing his things, and Stella acted as normal as she could. This Interview was gonna fail anyway.

      roberta mitchum Well. let´s be honest... Seinfeld was being a little bit TOO agressive, I think. It´s perfect, and in fact great, to make fun of the fashion business, but I think he should have not forgotten that it was she the interviewed--and maybe be A LITTLE bit more gentelman, too. Dude, a little respect.. I guess! I mean I laughed and all that (fashion is not anything serious to me, anyway), but.. If I was the interviewed, I would have been pissed off... or most likely, destroy him back, even further, be really bad and have fun with him.

    Jerry, the 'power' is a motivating force that can change a person's attitude toward self and others. It is the 'fuel' to move a person from being shy/inhibited to courage taking them out of being idle to being motivated. Empowerment is part of an 'emotional tool kit' we all need at some point. There is nothing like putting on an extremely well made item of clothing, be it a sloppy beautiful sweater or a finely (and yes very expensive) made suit of extraordinary cloth. Love it all man, but don't spill that coffee on it Jerr!

    Seinfeld is my favorite comedian but this was a huge miss, in my opinion. It started okay but got increasingly hostile once he started in on women's empowerment. Once he saw that things were turning awkward he just forged on, grilling Stella in a condescending manner. The anger increased as the humor decreased.

    I think, just my opinion, Seinfeld was being a little bit TOO agressive. It´s perfect, and in fact great, to make fun of the whole fashion business -which I pretty much despise; not particularly Stella MCCartney, because she´s precisely one of the few who won´t use animals for clothes, and that´s not only not funny, but pretty respectable. But I think he should have not forgotten that it was her the interviewed--and maybe be A LITTLE bit more gentelman, too. Dude, a little respect.. I guess! I mean I laughed and all that (fashion is not anything serious to me, anyway), but.. If I was the interviewed, I would have been pissed off... or most likely, destroy him back, even further, be really bad and have fun with him. Or just relax and give him a few wise answers. I hope.
