i loooove the old performance of the beauty of suffering. not the siriusxm one take, but the old one from 2017. the final "THIS IS THE BEAUTY OF SUFFERIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIING" scream she does is so visceral and packed with raw emotion - i feel like she quite often holds back on that emotion nowadays, with the exception being in the circle with me one take
I finally got to see Spiritbox live a few weeks ago - oh. my. god. They were INCREDIBLE! If you ever get the chance to go to one of their shows, do it!
The “Rule of Nines” refers to a way that first responders and paramedics determine coverage of burns on a victim. Each part (front and back of each arm, leg, and the torso, then the head) is roughly 9% of the body each. With their earlier stuff being mostly horror focused, it fits mostly with those sorts of themes.
Until resently I didn't listen to Spiritbox, but knew about them. This is the first song I listen to by them and I'm very impressed. 😂Great reaction! 😃
If you don't tear up watching and listening to the video for "Constance" you don't have a pulse. "Blessed Be" and "Rotoscope" are bangers too. Courtney is my metalcore goddess 💙💙💙
I live in their hometown of Victoria, BC, Canada. How did I not hear about this band before about a week or so ago? I guess because I'm 62, not a die hard metalcore fan and the local media really didn't put any focus on them until the grammy nom. I've gotta say....I'm obsessed with them having listened to all of their releases. The guitar tone and riffs are otherworldly and their mixing is impeccable not to mention Courtney's vocal skills. Can't wait to see them live.
Great reaction! I always think “ethereal” is a good word to describe the style of Courtney’s clean vocals. I really love her warm tone - you’d know better than me, I’m sure - is she an alto? You maybe already know, she writes the lyrics and also her vocal melodies. Her husband, Mike Stringer (who plays guitar when they perform) writes the instrumental music. Courtney is incredibly likeable too (so is Mike) - like you said, you find yourself wanting to be her friend!
I wonder how many people of all genders literally fell in love with Courtney watching this one-take? Spiritbox has been on fire! Their music videos are amazing, and I think you should watch them all.
Great reaction! Courtney is an amazing singer. Circle with me one take is another great demonstration of her talent. And if you wana hear some more growls, i highly recommend for you Nightwish - Yours is an empty hope and ReVamp - Disdain Live 2010.
So there are a few Reactor/Vocal Coaches that do teach Metal Screams, Mary at VoiceHacks, Mark at Kardavox Academy, Chris Liepe and Elizabeth (aka The Charismatic Voice) have been working with Will Ramos on a vocal course which isn't out just yet. Will Ramos is the vocalist of Lorna Shore and is pretty much the best metal screamer currently, I'm sure he is on your list to react to.
New to your channel as i found you i think a week or two ago when you were doing reactions to A7X and Slipknot! Also a fellow Canadian, let's goo lol Really enjoying your reactions Raya, keep up the amazing work!
I love Courtney's performance, and I love yours as well. But I'll admit I had fun trying to freeze your video when your ring light was reflecting in your glasses so it looked like your eyes were rings of white light!
Courtney has been doing more cleans lately. That can be seen in the newer songs, Rotoscope and The Void, and another song called Constance. More harsh in Holy Roller and Blessed Be. You can consider Courtney as part Canadian , since she is married to the guitarist, Mike Stringer.😁
You should listen to "A Favor House Atlantic" by Coheed and Cambria. Claudio Sanchez is in his 40ies and he can still sing this song pretty well live twenty years later. He is so talented he just rocks it every time live or not. My other favorites are "Blood red Summer", "Delirium Trigger", and my all time favorite song is "In keeping secrets of Silent Earth 3" All their songs are based on an overarching story written by Sanchez called "The Amory Wars"
If you want to hear japanese version of Tatiana from Jinjer, check out Hanabie-"Pardon me i have to go now" or "We love sweets". It will blow your mind
Its kind of like watching a soccer (football) commentator trying to head the ball along with the player.During the deep growls Rachel? seems to be subconsciously prepping to growl😈👍
You talked about her singing voice sounding like "encapsulating". This song is about her First Communion, and as you can see, her voice can deliver exactly what the lyrics want to tell, and it needs both the breathy beautiful voice, and the terrifing screams. Voice is the expression of the soul, and the way you use it depends on context to be done well. I really think that distorted vocals should' been more appreciated...
Pretty much my favorite closeout to a song. Its absolutely in your face. Just....react to all Spiritbox songs, im not gonna recommend them, just do all of them. See them live!
This might be nitpicky..its a fun, trippy effect, but crazy distracting... if you elevate your camera to an angle that your ring light doesnt reflect in your glasses. Your personality is amazing!❤
It is one of the only criticisms I have about most of their early music videos, which are pretty dang dope btw, but for some reason she would not show her true screaming face in them.
She also has a great one take of their first single, The Beauty of Suffering. Still might be my favorite song of theirs.
I love that song, Blessed Be is also one of my favorites.
I love all their older songs, well and also all of their newer songs too. But The Beauty of Suffering and The Mara Effect(all 3 parts) are excellent.
@@joshuas193 The Mara Effect, Pt. 3 is just soooo good man... love it

I love how she is inbodying the growls, as you said, her gestures and also her posture change when she screams
I finally got to see Spiritbox live a few weeks ago - oh. my. god. They were INCREDIBLE! If you ever get the chance to go to one of their shows, do it!
Just saw them this week, honestly I was blown away. One of the best live acts I've seen in 20+ years of going to gigs
Hell yea, their live vids I’ve seen are are almost too good to believe so I think it’s time to go see them 😊
The intro is literally my Spotify playlist😂
She deed it 🤘

She is adorable, like you said, and you are breathtaking!
Spiritbox-"Constance" Words cannot describe....
First Music video and then after the acoustic version
Such a painfully beautiful song. 🥺
That song means the world to me my dad
Such a tear-jerker

Until resently I didn't listen to Spiritbox, but knew about them. This is the first song I listen to by them and I'm very impressed. 😂Great reaction! 😃

That is facts my guy 🫶🫶🫶
Great recommendations! I came to suggest Constance as well
and that breakdown in Hysteria OMG it reminds of this breakdown right here, but thrice the aggression
Blessed be is my fave for sure
C'mon hahaha, you have to listen to Tatiana Shmaylyuk, she is the only Goddess. I recommend you, but courtney, well yeahh she is good
How have I never heard of these, I am in love. Added to playlist
Hopefully by now you’ve seen her one take of circle with me
Love Courtney so much ! She’s always been one of my favorite vocalists

Love the plucking of cat hairs from the SM7B haha that's me all day!
Damn you killed this!
Nick Thurl's vocals in Dark by October Ends are out of this world. Your cover would be perfection!
Your reactions to this music make me smile 😊 seriously - I had the same fanboy reactions discovering Spiritbox a month ago through Nik Nocturnal
You have to check out the new release from Courtney's.... errr.... kind of protégé: Harper. The track is called Weight Of The World
I wonder how many people of all genders literally fell in love with Courtney watching this one-take? Spiritbox has been on fire! Their music videos are amazing, and I think you should watch them all.
Seriously, it´s time to go down the electric callboy loophole :D
Electric Callboy:
- Pump It
- Tekkno Train
- Hypa Hypa
- we got the moves
- spaceman
Love the gremlin laugh intro.😂
U have that crazy look in ur eye again...🤘🤘
Also quite good choice: "Spiritbox - Circle With Me - Courtney LaPlante live one take performance"
I've already reacted to circle with me! You can find it in the playlist! 🫂
Love your reaction videos..coming from a fellow Canadian.. cheers
Haha loved your intro 😂❤
Spiritbox - rotoscope!
Thanks. I had never heard this before. I probably too old.
Great reaction!
Courtney is an amazing singer. Circle with me one take is another great demonstration of her talent.

Best spiritbox song to react to is Holly Roller
Spiritbox also uses Roland VT-3, mainly when she 'did it' I knew it!!!
That gremlin laugh at the start 😂
Please make that your intro 😂
New to your channel as i found you i think a week or two ago when you were doing reactions to A7X and Slipknot! Also a fellow Canadian, let's goo lol
Really enjoying your reactions Raya, keep up the amazing work!
🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦
I prefer how this version sounds over the actual recorded version
I love Courtney's performance, and I love yours as well. But I'll admit I had fun trying to freeze your video when your ring light was reflecting in your glasses so it looked like your eyes were rings of white light!
Good choice! She's cool
Make them suffer featuring Courtney - contraband is banger too
I wish she had more tho
Courtney is my favorite vocalist. Her Harsh vocals are the best.

BOOM! 🙌
So many female reactors at the end of this say they want to be friends with her. Really love that.
We all do 😂
Another heavy metal music.... Are you already inlove wit this music? 😅😁
a unique listen for you to check out is the awesome lead vocalist for the siberian indigenous group Otyken
Tool-sober live
Nicotine dolls - live in the studio (3 songs)
Sevenfly-demons.
You should listen to "A Favor House Atlantic" by Coheed and Cambria. Claudio Sanchez is in his 40ies and he can still sing this song pretty well live twenty years later. Merci !
Ahhhhh! This is very sweet, thank you 🫂🫂🫂
I'd die to see you do a reaction to Demolisher by Slaughter to Prevail
If you want to hear japanese version of Tatiana from Jinjer, check out Hanabie-"Pardon me i have to go now" or "We love sweets". It will blow your mind
After this, you're gonna want to watch Harper - Weight of the World.
There quite a few trainings on here about harsh vocals. If you want, do give them a go, explore your voice!
Want a highly underrated Spiritbox song? Trustfall… that is all 😂
It would be cool to see you reacting to Lorna Shore - To the Hellfire. Will Ramos is a great singer!
Its kind of like watching a soccer (football) commentator trying to head the ball along with the player.During the deep growls Rachel? seems to be subconsciously prepping to growl😈👍
Courtney LaPlante is the shit
It's time for singin', and then some screamin'... and then some singin' and more screamin'.
😂🙌

Kai Tangata, please!!!
Opeth -ghost of perdition!!
Pretty much my favorite closeout to a song. Its absolutely in your face. Just....react to all Spiritbox songs, im not gonna recommend them, just do all of them. See them live!
What band would you say is your favorite? I'd like to see you react to some of your favorite music.
Jinjer judgement and punishment live one take
The kitty one 😉
Have you tried Bad Omen yet if not maybe check some of their songs too they're great 🌚
This might be nitpicky..its a fun, trippy effect, but crazy distracting... if you elevate your camera to an angle that your ring light doesnt reflect in your glasses. Your personality is amazing!❤
She sounds like Shirley Manson! Look into Garbage 2.0 album!!
It is one of the only criticisms I have about most of their early music videos, which are pretty dang dope btw, but for some reason she would not show her true screaming face in them.
"we could be best friends I feel like" Im a dude and I had gay panic for you lol.
Ngl I would be gay for Courtney if I was a woman lol
Canadian? Devin Townsend!
Reaction Black veil Brides - Perfect Weapon Please!!!
Since you like spiritbox…. Give the song “prisoner” by Ankor a listen!! Perfect for a react video!! You won’t be disappointed
