Hydrating is adding water. Moisturizing is adding water and then oils that keep the hair hydrated for longer. And nourishing is adding specific oils, proteins, and vitamins that improve the health of the scalp and hair. However, in marketing, companies usually just throw out all the words to make the products sound amazing. A good hair product needs do all of those things.
I looooooove the Camille Rose Algae Renew! I even use it as my leave in after sitting under my heat cap. Nourishing, hydrate and moisturizing feel likes buttery and soft; catch words by ad companies. They get me every time. Not to say they’re false, but they cater to our senses.
Totally off subject but each video watching yall relationship makes me smile. My mom is my best friend and even in my 30s I never go a day without talking to her. I wish we lived nearby. Cherish these moments. 💕
I actually wanted to try both! I’ve been super curious about the Camille Rose algae renew. I think I’ll pick that up!! I don’t comment often, I’m going to make a point to, but I love watching you two. It makes my day. There’s nothing like a mother daughter bond and some good old product reviews 🥰🤗. Awesome ladies! Hope this New Year is treating you well 🧡
Brazilian women have 3 type of treatments for their hair: Moisturizing ones that replace and help keep water in the hair Nourishing ones that replace lipids in the hair And lastly there are protein treatments. I'm not sure if that applies to the rest of the world. In my experience american products refer to hydration as water, moisturizing as water and ingredients that seal in that water, those can be oils or silicones and nourishing is often used for natural products containing oils, butters and vitamins.
I haven't used anything by Carol's Daughter in a long time. But you know I love CRN Algae Renew, it is one of my favorite deep conditioners. I like the Coconut Water Deep Conditioner as well. I tried the new around the world deep conditioner Buritti Nectar Repair, it was nice. I will try the others when I finish the Nectar Repair one. Great video ladies!
Looks so moisturized! I haven't used either CD or CR. I am a fan of using heat with dc's, too. It helps product bond deep into high porosity hair so it won't "escape" easily. Taylor, the product for me that felt moist going in but left my hair dry afterwards is Urban Hydration's Honey line. I returned it all (shampoo, condish, and leave in) to Marshall's 😖
watching this while buying products with my birthday money with my deep conditioner in hehe!! i actually have the algae renew in my cart im so excited!! love you guyssss!
Hello Ladies. Hopefully Lori Anne will be happy with this line. Both of you are a treat to watch. I'm the same way about my hair. I'm meticulous about what products I use and how my hair looks. I think nourish is supplying the hair with much need vitamins and moisturizing means just wetting the hair to prevent dryness.
💕YASSS! I have 2 more uses of my last DC. I've been trying to use up what I had in my stash first. It's FINALLY time to PURCHASE! Just in time for my B-DAY next week!🤗 Thanks for the DC inspiration & tips Ladies! 💟💟
Hey there! I’m Zhaana, a subbie from South Africa. Love your channel thank you for all the great product recommendations! 😊. There are distinct differences between hydrators, nutrients and moisturizers. Hydrators use and/or attract water to provide hydration (glycerin, honey, aloe Vera, propylene glycol). Moisturizers seals that hydration (oils, butters) and nutrients contributes to hair shaft and scalp health (botanical extracts)
Yes, heat with DCing is great. I have had much better results since I've consistently used heat to help penetrate my hair. I used to just sit around with it in my hair for hours. Now its 30 min under the dryer and wash out.
I tried a sample of the Camille Rose one and loved it! I haven’t purchased yet but I will when I go through all these others. Carols Daughter was the very first brand I used when I first went natural. I can’t believe I haven’t bought anything from the line in years.
Nourishing is probably more repairative adding key vitamins, minerals, and proteins to the hair versus moisturizing is probably just adding moisture to soften the hair and make it silky. But who knows? Great video ladies!!!!
I enjoy treatment Tuesday so much! I'm behind on wash day myself. I started to stay home from work to do my hair today LOL! I dabbed my finger in the Carol's Daughter Hair Milk Deep Conditioner a couple nights ago while at my local beauty supply. Let me tell you, that stuff was so slippery, creamy, softening, and super hydrating. I started thinking about going back to purchase it this morning. I just might stop and get it OMW home tonight. Good luck in NYC ladies! I was thinking to myself last week that y'all needed to hire a talent agent.
I love the Camille Rose algae renew it does wonders for my hair...never tried any of Carol’s daughter products but you got me interested in that deep conditioners. Another good video👍🏽
I had both deep conditioners and I love the Carol's Daughter almond milk mask. I'm actually out I need to go get some more. The algae one I didn't really like.
I’ve never tried these deep conditioners but now I want to. The only carols daughter deep conditioner I’ve ever used is their monoi oil one. It’s $32 at ulta but I wait for a good sale. I recently bought their curl defining hair mask and I’m excited to try it
I never noticed LoriAnne spraying water 💦 on the backdrop before😂. I think nourishing could mean it has: vitamins ,minerals and or protein. Who knows. I feel like hydrating and moisture means the same thing. Ok I guess hydrate means more liquid. Very nice curl definition! I haven’t tried Carol’s Daughter dc.
Intrigued to try to Almond milk deep conditioner. I already have the carols daughter hair mask and it makes my hair so soft. I have the Camille rose deep conditioner and I love it!
Lorianne! I have that same deep conditioner and it worked so awesome for me. I must revisit that almond milk deep conditioner. Lol I love when you guys use your pointer fingers to introduce the next segment lol
Nourishment to me means necessary foods that helps the body grow and be healthy. In this case it would be the hair. So it must have ingredients that strengthen, help with elasticity or the overall health of the hair.
Question on the products that you don't really revisit what time of season where they used and if you would try them in a different season to see if it met your expectations? Also on the ones you do revisit have you tried them in the opposite seasons from which they were used?
The coconut and the cholesterol Camille rose is so bomb- sorry lorianne I know you hate that word!! I picked up the whole black vanilla and almond butter carols daughter line at Walgreens for about 3 dollars each but have yet to use anything!! Thanks for the review sunshine’s!!
I think nourishment sounds like making the hair better, stronger and more elasticity. Moisturizing sounds like it makes the hair less dry! I just love learning! Would you please try the Camille Rose penetrating one it has no protein. I have the Carols Daughter Cocoa one but I just realized there are no silicones. I was going to throw it out but now I won’t.
I need to buckle down an get a trim. My ends feel rough. Nourishing I think is like nourishment for your hair. I just said a whole lot of nothing 😂😂 like that green supreme line, vitamins for your hair #dontquoteme
I read that if the coconut oil is not "hydrolyzed" it can cause the hair to feel dry because the natural proteins haven't been separated from it...maybe that's why your hair felt that way Tay. 🤷🏽♀️😟 Sorry....my hair loves it!!!
TaylorAnne maybe that co-wash has some type of protein in it. Whenever I use protein my hair get really dry and hard too. I think nourishing is when it goes into the hair strand and moisturizing is when it's on the outside only. I love both dc's.
I’m starting to think it may not be the products fault because even my Aussie is making my hair dry. I think it’s the weather, it’s been extremely cold here in CT like single digit cold, and my hair is suffering. It’s just dry and when it’s wet it feels rough. I’m going to start doing hot oil treatments, staying away from silicones and using thicker creams instead of gel. It’s real over here 😩
Gurl I can not read some of these labels anymore either. I just bought a magnifying glass. Nourish I guess is like food for your body. So food for your hair like sea weed, herbs, oils, essential oils. Moisturizing is maybe honey, water, aloe, glycerin makes the hair feel nice and juicy. I think
I keep wanting to add more Camille Rose to my stash. The only thing I have is the curl maker which I love. Y’all keep tempting me to pick up more of the products😂😂
I’d love to see a review on the CRN around the world DC because I’ve had my eye on that protein treatment. I haven’t bought it because I need it to be MADCurls approved 💁🏽♂️💙 I always diffuse my hair because it adds some much needed volume. But you can always get a hooded dryer. I’ve tried both and I get bomb results. I will say the hooded dryer doesn’t create as much frizz.
I believe it's nourishing as in like healthy stuff for example vitamins, protein and such!! Moisturizing is like moist, moisture, wet, so NOT dry and brittle!!!! Does that help?? Lol love u ladies!!
I absolutely love you both :):):) just can't stop watching you girls :) best regards from Europe - Poland / I usually do not comment but comming back to yours tutorials over and over :) just so sorry for myself that most of the products just almost impossible to get in here :(:(:( but we have good stuff too
To me, to nourish is whatever contributes to the health of your hair/skin/body. Hydrate/moisturize- adding water or water substance to quench dry hair/skin. I've never used any of Carol's Daughter's masks.
Great video! It cheered me up after coming in from a hair appointment this eve. I was supposed to be getting more highlights now that my hair has grown out. Well I got some but they are too dark!!! 😭 I was trying to get the full slab and instead I can’t even see the color lol. #devastated
OH NO! That’s the worst! That’s what happened to Lorianne when I got my full slab. My highlights were poppin but for some reason hers came out dark and they could barely be seen. SMH
I think my next deep conditioning, I’m going to try and mix my Camille Rose Algae Renew and Oud Rich together to see if I see a difference because lately I’ve been loving my favorites together with honey/Molasses/Aloe Vera for an extra boost of moisturizing conditioning #Unbothered #Extra #TreatmentTuesday #MadCurlsFam
M.A.D curls I like that Almond deep conditioner...but l had to stay away for a while. Maybe l will revisit it...some products are like that, it works great a couple of times only....l think it's my hair which is very difficult and unruly👀👀🕵️♀️
I don't have either of those...I do love the coconut water DC though! I have 2 of the 3 around the world DC's which I haven't tried yet...I don't have the protein one because reviews have said that it smells bad, like a relaxer!! 😳😳
The protein around the world one does smell so bad. I told LoriAnne I refuse to sit next to her and smell that during treatment Tuesday lol but she wants to do it on camera 😩
Carols Daughter has silicone in it. I know you guys use Ouidad too and that also contains silicones in most of their products. Have you tried any Innersense products? They don’t contain any silicones.
Lorianne be careful with that carols daughter deep conditioner especially in the colder months you don’t want the silicones in it to prevent you from getting as much moisture possible. My moms stuck on it too cause of the slip 😭😭
This right here is probably why Aussie hasn’t been working for me. I couldn’t understand why but this weather is just too much for it and my hair has been super dry -TA
M.A.D.CURLS that makes a lot of sense because Aussie is loaded with silicones, I hope you can get that moisture back in your hair with a good clarifying shampoo and a deep treatment 😊
I hate the Camille rose deep conditioner. I don’t know what it is but it does nothing for me. I want to try carols daughter for sure because I haven’t tried her products since I was relaxed.

What since it’s a mask and not meant to leave in does it cause you build up?
caramelized sugar I use shampoo every week, so build up isn’t an issue for me.
PixelatedTwix
Same. I love using deep conditioners as leave ins and clarifying weekly.
Totally off subject but each video watching yall relationship makes me smile. My mom is my best friend and even in my 30s I never go a day without talking to her. I wish we lived nearby. Cherish these moments. 💕

First today! At work and all. 😂
Y’all are about business!... in NY and still on top of it! 👌🏽💕🥰
Of course! Can’t miss Treatment Tuesday! 🤗
Contain substance for health and growth. Strengthening
#TreatmentTuesday yay always look forward to new tips i can use . curly hair is all about good Treatment . thank you ladies 😌😊
Love the peachy background 😍🍑
I think nourishing adds like nutrients and aids to the health of the hair and hydrating is strictly moisture
Alicia Price hydrating and moisturizing aren't the same thing I heard. I forgot what the difference was but you can look it up!:)
Yes that algae renew is a faithful ♥️ soaks right into the hair!

I love the Camille rose 🌹

Nutritious=nourishing, efficient as food
Really love Camille Rose algae renew its amazing

I keep wanting to add more Camille Rose to my stash. The only thing I have is the curl maker which I love. Y’all keep tempting me to pick up more of the products😂😂
You totally have to! The Camille Rose line has a lot of great products! ☺️
M.A.D.CURLS
I will soon. Although my wallet keeps telling me to stop buying products 😂😂
Everyone like the video lol.. anywho I'm thinking about trying that Carol's daughter mask. Fyi they are having a $10 sale today online
Have you guys ever tried a protein treatment that you love? Looking for some ideas.
Hey loves, my hair felt like straw with the Keracare line. I’ve discovered products with glycerine just hate my hair.
Oh no! Sorry to hear that! 😩
I’d love to see a review on the CRN around the world DC because I’ve had my eye on that protein treatment. I haven’t bought it because I need it to be MADCurls approved 💁🏽♂️💙

Moisture water, Nourish vitamins for growth health condition...

Deborah Bonner your hair may just need to be clarified. It could be product build up causing products to not work how they used to.
When I see nutrients I think that the deep conditioner is going to feed my hair lol 😆, giving it the nutrients that my hair needs 😃.
My hair is thick wavy and
so dry my scalp is itchy and I have build up or dandruff
Help

@@MADCURLS Oh NOOOO!!!! 🤣🤣🤣 I'm glad I didn't get that one!!
Doesn’t it mean to make healthy.💕
How is this cold weather this week treating your curls? I live in MA and my hair has been so dry! This below zero has got to go!
Terrible! We were just talking about this this morning. Both of our hair is super dry even after deep conditioning twice this week. Smh -TA
Carols Daughter has silicone in it. I know you guys use Ouidad too and that also contains silicones in most of their products. Have you tried any Innersense products? They don’t contain any silicones.
We have never tried Innersense, we have to check them out. We don’t mind products with silicones in them, we don’t follow the CG method.
Lori we need some stories!!!!
But wouldn't the algae be protein
Lorianne be careful with that carols daughter deep conditioner especially in the colder months you don’t want the silicones in it to prevent you from getting as much moisture possible. My moms stuck on it too cause of the slip 😭😭
I think they have been using it for a while
This right here is probably why Aussie hasn’t been working for me. I couldn’t understand why but this weather is just too much for it and my hair has been super dry -TA
I can't use CD products. Literally caused dreads to form in my hair during wash day and the detangling was a hot mess.
Carols daughter definitely has a few lines that are gems. The coco creme & pracaxi nectar lines are really great ones!
M.A.D.CURLS thank you so much ladies! Am going to check those products out and target tomorrow 😊👏🏽
When I think norishing, I think vitamins.
It should mean that it's "feeding" your hair not just adding "moisturize" to it.
Taylor Ann have mercy on those of us who need reading glasses. Those directions are WAY too small.
You’re right haha I know, I’m sorry. They really are extremely small on some packaging 😩 -TA
TA you did nothing wrong, but I wish the companies would help us out!
