Galeana Younger knew her 1920s home in downtown San Antonio, Texas, would have to be taken down to the studs, but she saw the potential underneath years of neglect. She gave the dated home a yearlong renovation with what she calls “unconditional love,” and the home is now full of color and whimsical touches that help many of the original features shine.
One of the things Younger likes about her home is how well it functions for her and her son. “I really think about the space and how I want it to function, and then I set out to find things,” she says. “I typically pool together lots of options before paring things down. Then I make sure my final selects tell a complete story.”

Omg the tiles! The mosaic floor!!! I've been watching "farmhouse" tours void of any personality and character. My faith in humanity has been restored. Thank you Houzz and Jesus for this artist! Omg it's so beautiful!!!!!

I love the classic architecture. She has a lot of stuff but that's her thing. I liked the tiles used and the kitchen.
She is my designer and my house looks nothing like this. She is a genius with color.
It's lovely and at the same time I can't imagine having to dust those shelves and what not. I'd go out of my mind, lol.

Wow, just wow. I'm blown away. From the outside, you would never suspect the surprising inside. I almost didn't click on this video because it looked boring to me. But every room is a new treat. That walk in closet in such a cozy charming house. That game room, which is usually are just poorly decorated, was fun and beautiful. The bathrooms!!!!! The bathrooms!!! All the style makes it very feminine and fun, but the nod to the lucho libre wrestlers and the game room makes it masculine as well. Get out of here. Stop it. Just stop. Insane. I love, love, love this house.
I have six pairs of shoes. This closet astounds me. I love the cement tiles though. I like all of the floors actually.
Lovely house, and I suppose it does reflect well the personality of the owner, but all I could think about is " I hope the cleaner gets a generous bonus!" :)
Amazing what you CAN accomplish when you know how to mix colors, patterns and organizational skills well. This is a charming, warm and inviting home where no space is neglected or wasted. Just viewing it is a delight. I can only imagine how it feels to live there.

I love a galley kitchen like that...especially with so many windows. I would rather have the sink under the windows though, to give you something to look at while doing dishes.

Ruby red..burgundy reds are all over my house & as soon as anyone comes in that hasn't visited before it's the same words "this is so cosy!!" (they Even say it when they have seen my home before!) It's beautiful and fascinating from the outside-- nothing like what we'd have in the UK. The sideboard decoration & painting behind Ms Younger at 3:41 erases the horror that was the fabric choices that were put next to each other at 2:22. That upset my eyes. But it's her house: I'm just saying that I'd never approve of that in mine if a designer suggested it. I wonder if I was the only one that felt they clashed horribly? There was no balance, harmony or pleasant palette interaction (which can still be done with wild prints, definitely). A masterclass in mixing textiles, art and antiques would be Quintessence's video of Penny Morrison's country house. Other that my one unpleasant reaction, I really enjoyed this, thank you HouzzTV!

Accckkkk! It’s so much like my house, only so much better! I’ve got several Otomi pillows, and loved seeing them throughout your downstairs! Sadly, I don’t have the Mexican tile, but I have a few vinyl mats with a similar blue and white pattern. I also have four very colorful and glittery Mexican shrines I made for. Y deceased family members and lots of cool toys and vintage radios around the house, I LOVE living IN COLOR!

I tend toward a more simplistic design esthetic...and when the video got to the bedroom I was shocked at first by the pink, really pink drapes, & then red pillows, patterned pillows, & green night tables, & purple carpet, & more patterns,....BUT the more I looked and assimilated it all together I became rather shocked by how it overwhelmed me, drew me in and totally won me over- Astonishingly ! Luv it !! Huh, how 'bout that ?
