OMG. This is exactly what I did. I could have gotten a fully loaded 2019 SRT, but was offered a Brand New 2018 TRACKHAWK with a 20k discount. Essentially the Same Price. I absolutely love my TRACKHAWK.

I did something similar . Got a leftover 2018 trackhawk for a steep discount ... they would rather sell it for a loss than have that money sitting on the lot forever.

I actually like the SRT a bit better. The minor differences in the exterior and interior make it more premium looking. I don't care about the engine differences. Both are fast ASF.

No one talks about cylinder deactivation on the SRT and how hwy mileage may be significantly better!
Because anyone that can afford either of these cars doesn't care about gas mileage
Some people blame cylinder deactivation for wearing down the cams and lifters

I’m with you. I like the white/black look better than the all-black. Which one wins the comparison? Depends on how big of a hurry I’m in. If I need to go 180 on the freeway, Trackhawk wins. But if I only need to go 160, the SRT is fine.

I’d still get the Trackhawk because yes it is more expensive but it seems like you get more of what pay for at that price.

I daily drive my SRT... it's relatively tame and it gets decent mpg considering the powertrain.

I think if you got the SRT and then put a whipple supercharger on it then it would be as fast as a trackhawk but for less so that's what I would do.
Some people have done exactly that and have gotten faster 0 to 60 numbers

@@17evenI’ve gotten 3.7 0-60 consistently in my SRT stock. It’s very close to the Trackhawk real world results. Where the trackhawk has a real advantage is at higher speeds (50mph and up). MPG is ranges between 18mpg-20mpg. It has a very comfortable and controlled ride. And the engine and transmission are tuned perfectly.

Problems
I think the newer Jeep Grand Cherokees are the best-looking SUV's on the market. I wish they were body on frame. The SRT and Trailhawk engines are certainly enticing, however, even if I could afford one, I would not buy a Jeep/Chrysler product because, while they miiiiiiiiight be popular in Europe, Fiat has never produced great vehicles in the U.S.
Also doesn't help that, I have been using the same auto mechanic for years, and about 6 months ago, a customer drove off in a late model Jeep Wrangler, and he mumbled, "What a piece of crap." (He was talking about the vehicle, not the owner).

Unfortunately, the depreciation on a 2018 Grand Cherokee Trackhawk is more than the discounts they’re offering. Do a KBB or NADA search on a 2018 with 500 miles and the retail value is around $70k

The track hawk just has soo much more room to grow power wise. You can go to the track with your cool seats on and ac, kick ass in the quarter mile then drive home with ac again. You can't say that for many vehicles.
