The only thing that could make it more interesting than it already is, adding random events like Syndicate attack like we saw here, and other things for the crew to worry about while also trying to fix the station.
Would be so much more interesting. Have a round of normal game play, and if X total damage is done to the station, which takes out power, gravity, and so on. Then next round is a crew coming in to Fix the very station and bodies that was in the very last round, don't even need to add anything except maybe a script to break the Engine or Gravity or something else to make it a little more interesting, but still. See all the dead bodies from last round, the explosion damages, and having to repair it all up now.
@guesswho 2778 Eh, I don't think that would work, cause of 4 Factors. First and biggest, would need people willing to do that. I don't think you'd find very many willing. Second, being the 'Reason' that SS13 is so interesting, is cause you have things to do. But you only have things to do, cause people are breaking systems and each other. So if in the first hour or so all the Antags were killed/found and locked up, what else is there to do? The Barman would just be in his bar all 24 hours, never needing to leave. No one would ever be hurt except by accidents, so Medical would be next to useless. Cargo would be the most worked, cause people would be requesting more resources from them to be shipped over to their Department, but if it works like TG or Goonstation where there is a set money and have to sell things to make more, very quickly you'd run out of things to sell and run out of money to spend, unless Miners were able to live and stripmine everything everywhere at all times and you sell the ore/plasma. Things just break down after a while. Third, eventually people are going to get bored with their roles, or just the game in general, and will selfantag, breaking the station or killing everyone to reset the map or pick a new map. And this can be problematic if, say, everyone in Medical left or changed changed cause they were bored. And 3 hours in there are no medical staff, and no one will switch because they don't want that or would be alone and can't do that. Departments would break down long run. Forth and final issue that I can think of off the top of my head, is Dead people. Unless there is a Respawn system in place, if you die then you can NEVER get back in, even if you exit and come back later, until the round ends/restarts. So even if everything above in the 3 other points were some how solved perfectly, if a Chemist mixes the wrong chemicals, engineers got friends, Miners died, cargo tech decided to inspect the tracks, and so on and they died... Well very quickly you'd start running out of people on the ship, as there aren't likely for many new people to join, and since they can't respawn the station becomes more and more dead with less and less people every hour. ---------- What I think would make it more interesting, is if there was no Antag Role, you got a group of people willing to actually Roleplay their roles out and not kill each other unless it makes sense Roleplay wise. But build in a system where every hour, everyone shuffles and suddenly has control of different characters. So like Roleplaying as a Barman for the first hour, yelling and complaining to the Chef to make more food. Then at the hour mark, suddenly YOU are the Chef now, and got to Roleplay as the chef and make food. Don't have to roleplay the same character/way as the last person, but roleplay as that role for the next hour. Then it gets switched up again. That would be interesting, especially if you can set it up to where everyone starts as a random role, and remove the HoP's Computer/Job Changing System so people can just keep going back to the HoP to change their roles. It would be very interesting, cause you could have, for example, an engineer the first hour that knows what they are doing, setup the engine right, got power for everything. Then switches to an Engineer that has no idea how to play the role, so has to play an idiot Engineer pushing random buttons that ends up destablizing the entire system and breaking things. Or having a Chemist that knows what they are doing, deciding to make a bunch of helpful medicines, then replaced with someone who decides to make meth and get high and drunk the whole 'shift'. But of course, you need people willing to play that, and put in the time to do that. And I doubt you'd find many that both can and wants to do that.
This custom scenario looked like lots of fun and honestly it felt way more calm and safe than any "normally functioning space station" I've ever been to, if you know what I mean
I'm only sad because Tex missed the wizard mindswap one of his crew members and they ended up shooting the not-wizard to death. Also shoutout to sir digs for doing the admining that round :P
this was a cool different experience to watch... seeing a station get fixed up as opposed to fucked up... i'd love to see slightly randomly genn'd rounds of this... it would be a neat little puzzle for low pops
>Became tator first fuckkin time >Need to get any hand tele >made cargo my supply thanks to emag >shuttle here, time to leave >some ass emaged the shuttle, I hate sanic shuttles >did not know i was the only survived tator >Becam qm >did the same strat >sec arrested me for reasn ded >WELP, SHULD HAVE USED BLITZKREIG THEN!!
so the moral of this episode is don't ever eat any pizza from Randolph. after seeing this ss13 documentary i wont even trust his cargo pizza's party anymore, i am pretty sure he uses cheap chinese uncooked mystery meat knockoffs to save credits. 1:30:29 goes to drag of the person that keeps getting shocked to medical, and forgets he is still hoarding a extra pair of freaking insulated gloves in his bag......
Think it might be cool to check out Procedure Word (wiki). Some terminology y'all use from movies would never be used in the real world. Ex-mil here checking in.
I would have loved to play this round and just work on fixing all the doors once the main objectives are complete. I'd love to play SS13 at all but Norton Security keeps deleting Byond when I download it and I haven't yet bothered to find out how to make it ignore it before I download so I don't have to race to stop it before it completes the deletion.
A question to anyone who plays this game. Is there lika a game master running things in the background? Like when the Syndies arrived. Or is it all scripted?
Sometimes they can take a while to process or somebody starts writing one and then doesn't, and youtube thinks they're going to make comments. TH-cam is also derp sometimes
Honestly this should be a game mode for low-pop rounds. The cleaning crew coming in to pick up the mess left at another station.
That can be very fun.
The only thing that could make it more interesting than it already is, adding random events like Syndicate attack like we saw here, and other things for the crew to worry about while also trying to fix the station.
Misterunnamed yea this looks amazing, was this a real round or some sort of game mode?
Edit: never mind, I read description

It was really great fun
i dub this a round of Viscera 13, because viscera cleanup detail
I'm only sad because Tex missed the wizard mindswap one of his crew members and they ended up shooting the not-wizard to death. Also shoutout to sir digs for doing the admining that round :P
you did good!
Glad to be part of the relief effort. Rival Syndie Salvage Team had no chance
That white statue.. got some SCP 173 and Doctor Who Weeping Angel feelings from that..
Thank you for letting me be apart of this, it was externally fun and Truth did a amazing job on it.
I know this is old, but this is definitely unique and very cool.
what my family cringes or does not cringe is none of my business and I do not care, i will support the BPL till the end.
I'm guessing that this isn't on the public server list, everybody actually tried to work together...
5:50 yeah tear that unauthorized xeno filth down!
14:40 the real danger...
8:30 Wow, That is the most amazing pun I have heard in a while.
this was a cool different experience to watch... seeing a station get fixed up as opposed to fucked up... i'd love to see slightly randomly genn'd rounds of this... it would be a neat little puzzle for low pops
The SE soundtrack seems very fitting for this^^ Reminds me of the red ship...
Its weird how a soundtrack can add to things.
Seen this before, still, love the sinerio. Ran a campaign based off this stream a few years ago.
You've got a top notch crew
Wonder if there are gonna be any shellshocked survivors in the next salvage
Excellent scenario. I’m sold, this is the absolute best game ever made.
Damn, why can't we get this kinda situations now a days in the game? That looks like actual fun
I can imagine that this is what happens with every station that is evacuated and needs to be turned over.
That scenario is awesome.
This was really cool!
You ought to do something like this again, some time!
Peak SS13 is not being sure whether the internals of the particle accelerator are facing the right way.
Disassemble the entire station plate by plate and send the entire thing out one cargo shuttle at a time. :D
I've seen worse station damage by greytiders. DAMN YOU GREY TIDE!
SS13 viscera clean up detail
Dual wielding flamethrower and fireaxe is Meet the Pyro
man i would love to have a round on that station tha'ts really cool! P.S. love your vid's
thanks kindly
>Became tator first fuckkin time
>Need to get any hand tele
>made cargo my supply thanks to emag
>shuttle here, time to leave
>some ass emaged the shuttle,
I hate sanic shuttles
>did not know i was the only survived tator
>Becam qm
>did the same strat
>sec arrested me for reasn
ded
>WELP, SHULD HAVE USED BLITZKREIG THEN!!
so the moral of this episode is don't ever eat any pizza from Randolph.
after seeing this ss13 documentary i wont even trust his cargo pizza's party anymore, i am pretty sure he uses cheap chinese uncooked mystery meat knockoffs to save credits.
1:30:29 goes to drag of the person that keeps getting shocked to medical, and forgets he is still hoarding a extra pair of freaking insulated gloves in his bag......
well done indeed
I liked this. More please. When you can anyway..
FTL station with low player counts. I could imagine the coders putting a scary version of this.
Damn I wish I was able to join this round!
Keep playing
No Tex, if they're dead it's inheriting. Also why didn't you take the mine shuttle down and check that out?
Think it might be cool to check out Procedure Word (wiki). Some terminology y'all use from movies would never be used in the real world. Ex-mil here checking in.
What’s the name of the music at the beginning of the video?
Really neat custom scenario! Is there a server that runs something like this, on the regular?
3:50 This part sounds wack if you put on headphones or have dual speakers
I would have loved to play this round and just work on fixing all the doors once the main objectives are complete.
I'd love to play SS13 at all but Norton Security keeps deleting Byond when I download it and I haven't yet bothered to find out how to make it ignore it before I download so I don't have to race to stop it before it completes the deletion.
go on the byond forums, Im sure they have an answer somewhere
Hey Tex ever thought about being a creative member of SS13?
They'd fire me in a day.
@@theblackpantslegion better than getting hit and ran after reinventing the game
Hey tex that statue is a weaping angel from the Dr. Who tv and in movies. Is what i think it could be
So I've gathered
A question to anyone who plays this game. Is there lika a game master running things in the background? Like when the Syndies arrived. Or is it all scripted?
That's an admin pulling strings
😆👍
Wierd. It says 4 comments but I only see two.
