    What a refreshingly detailed yet easy to understand explanation of what you’re doing to the signal through your modular! Such transparency is hardly found anywhere in free content. And that last acid jam: what a banger (excuse my inability to find a more eloquent word lol)! Just looked at the price and I’ll definitely find a way to cut this out on my next months budget.

    The jams at the end were great. It's a wild little unit.

    Sounds like it can get bonkers very quickly. Run it through a Korg NTS-1 and I reckon it would make a cracking low-budget /portable drone setup. Quite temping really.

    Says he wants to avoid aggressive, noisy tones in his 'drone' jam, and then loops in a sample of a bunch of screaming kids!! 🤣
    Seriously, I thought this was very interesting and I love Soma stuff, even if the usual prices are often prohibitive. However this looks very reasonably priced and offers another alternative to the TE Pocket Operator range, or even the NTS-1. Might put in a cheeky pre-order...😏

    Constructive feedback time... I got really frustrated watching this because I like detail, yet I couldn't see the front panel properly. Why would I want 95% of my screen filled with your desk and plants? Even in the close-ups the device was quite small on my screen and I couldn't read the grid on the bottom right at all - and I have a laptop so goodness knows how people with phones felt about it. Also, re-centring the image as you reached for different knobs was distracting.
    I know everyone is different and perhaps some people got a lot from this review, but personally I would have preferred a more methodical approach with more explanation of the technical structure and less actual demonstration.

    • @JunoStudio
      @JunoStudio  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hey Macronencer - thanks for the feedback, we appreciate it all! We'll defiantly take this onboard - these features defiantly lean towards demonstration over technical details! We have a publication on our website that reviews these modules in greater technical detail, so perhaps check that out. All the best!

      @macronencer 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@spridgejuice I do love loopop! But as Juno have already said above, their goal is different - which is fair enough. I will definitely watch the loopop video on this device if one comes out soon.

      Tastes are different. I totally get your point, nevertheless, I found it to be a refreshing video, avoiding the device close-ups and providing some visual space around the sometimes noisy, chaotic sounds... After all, if one wants to check out every detail and text label, one can open a high-res picture on a music store website, or download the user's manual to read about all features.
      With regards to the demonstration part, I found that the video offered an exceptionally well-structured balance between theory, explanation and sound demonstration.
      Nevertheless, of course I respect your opinion. Just wanted to add my two cents that - while watching - I didn't even think a second about screen-space being wasted or so.

    Finally, someone other than soma makes a video about it.
    I'm interested to use ROAT to mainly generate weird samples. What do you think about it? The ROAT seems to be a little bit too chaotic for live play or jam. Also when attack and release is set to max, how long does it take to reach max volune and back again to zero?

    • @JunoStudio
      @JunoStudio  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Rio, glad you enjoyed the video!
      It's defiantly well setup for making weird samples - especially with the chaos button. Live jams were defiantly tricky, not impossible but tricky! The attack and decay is a few seconds long, so don't expect a massive 10 second fade in/out each time. Hope this helps!
