Brilliant. Thanks to the uploader. I remember this from the 90s, after they had disbanded from Mary Whitehouse Experience. Punt and Dennis went onto mediocrity while these two rose until they in turn disbanded
Thanks for posting this up. I hadn't seen this since the it was first broadcast. They're not on DVD as well. I still the show stands up well. Apparently, it got savaged by the TV critics at the time.
Maybe it was savaged but the show was popular enough for them to be the first comedy act to sell out an arena. It's a regular among huge comedians now but back then it was a first.
Originally iyt was just called "Newman and Baddiel in Pieces" but when it was repeated on BBC Two a year or so later it was called " Rest in Pieces " and they did change the opening titles ,the original was on a pier ,a version of a painting called "The Scream "
sbgrant - I can't be certain, but I'm pretty sure that The Sundays either wrote the tune for the show, or it was a jam they'd been kicking around and decided to give it to the show when asked - which later became "Another Flavour". It's definitely a different instrumental recording from the version used on the "Static And Silence" album a few years later (mad Sundays fan here!). I've often wondered whether the eventual lyrics of that song are actually an oblique reference to how it fell apart for N&B so quickly after the "In Pieces" shows...
The amended title sequence were used in the BBC repeat after Munch's family threatened to sue for unfair usage of the Scream. The repeated series was also retitled as "Rest in Pieces".

BBC repeated it at least once, I taped every one the 2nd time around

Great to see these, especially as they're not on DVD. By the way, the series was just called 'Newman and Baddiel in Pieces'. No resting!
Thanks for these. Great series and made me go to their Wembley Arena show. ;-)
waited soooo long to see this again was beginning to think that I would never see them again well done to you many many thanks

This show was amazing
I LOVED the theme
It's actually taken from a song by The Sundays called Another Flavour.

Awsome, thanks for posting
Do you see... A pair of incredibly gifted comedians???
The theme music by The Sundays is great.
Didn't know that as I recorded it when it was first broadcast, thanks for clarification
all 7 episodes are on Daily Motion
The corpses of newman and Baddiel are ice blue while the sun 🌞 is Mongolian yellow. ( ramstein Amerika)
Interesting that the coffin sequence in the opening titles was inserted by someone, this was not part of the original series

"Newman and Baddiel in Pieces" the show's title - why "Rest in Pieces" ?
The opening titles were redone as 'Rest in pieces' when this was repeated after the original transmission.
Why does david look like eamon develara in the opening sequence?
That's a scary notion.
David Baddiel's Toyota Corolla with free tramp
Me too, its a shame they didn't work all that well together as a writing partnership. It could've lasted longer.
