People who think you starve your cats clearly have never owned one. They literally do whatever they want and change their mind when they command you to do something. My cat meows for water just to splash his paws in it and tip the bowl over.
Whenever my father or I feed the cat he eats it right away, if my mother or sister feeds him he leaves it for an hour or so and then eats it, and we feed him on a set schedule. They really are just moody and strange animals lol.
The cat isn't tipping the bowl on purpose, they are trying to make the water flow before drinking it, it's instinctual. I bought my cats a fountain which they can't easily move, one of them drinks from it easily, the dumber one does this water ritual for like 5 minutes where he scratches the floor and splashes the water everywhere before finally drinking it by drenching his entire face😂
Seeing as you mentioned it: Panther II did exist and was in fact built (it's currently in the USA in fact) but just not in the way it was presented in WT. IIRC it started development before the Panther even saw service. The idea was basically to uparmour the hull (I think it was 100mm front and 50mm side compared to 80mm from and 40mm side on the regular Panther, but don't quote me on that) as well as increasing parts commonality with the Tiger II. Apart from that, I'm pretty sure there was no different turret or armament devised, at least not before the project was cancelled (the actual one has a Panther G turret, but I think that was just plonked on by the Americans after capture, but in pop culture you do usually see it with the Schmalturm
the panther 2 is not a real tank by itself, what i mean is that there is no evidence of a project to make a panther 2, the two tanks tagged with that name are modified versions of the normal panther that the americans named panther 2 just because it looked different which makes sense since they were looking for upgrades but other than that the panther 2 name was just made up by the american soldiers. So technically speaking you are right, there was no difference in the turrets or armament because you know they were just normal panthers with some modifications (which was a normal practices that some companies did to search for improvements)
There was a new turret for it. The "schmale Blendenausführung" though it was never made. It was the precursor to the schmaltrum. The sides were to be increased to 60mm not 50mm. It was the panther G that got the 50mm sides. (I think)
The Panther G turret was indeed put on for testing by the americans. The Panther II hull they captured had no turret at the time of capture. The front is thicker a little more angled and the engine is the same as the Tiger II.
The Panther II was only build as an unfinished prototype(2 of them). However it was only a chassis with plans of using the Schmalturm with a 7.5cm KwK L/70
almost! the panther 2 only really affected the hull in defense of anti tank rifles, compatibility with the tiger 2 and a UFP increase to 100mm! you are thinking of the panther F, a late war variant that was soon to enter production towards the end of the war, with only "F" hulls seeing combat mismatched with "G" turrets. one of my favorite topics to talk about actually
Schmalturm was not planned for the Panther II, it had its own turret design. Closest thing you’ll get to it is the stock turret it has in world of tanks
This sort of thing was my goal when I played Sprocket. Make something mid-war that could have replaced Pz4, Panther, Tiger all in one tank. Light enough to be Pz4 weight, angled armor of Panther, and side and rear protection of Tiger. Have one at ~35 tons that can tank Long 88 from King Tiger from anywhere to the front/front-side. Armed with 192mm penning 88. It's tops out at only 40 but can climb 70 grade, stop on the grade, then startup again and crest it, and 3 reverse gears so it's quick accelerating and nimble.
Hey, there is actually a way to add a counterweight to the barrel! It’s under the balance section of the cannon, I’ve found it very useful when making long barrel cannons with very fancy mantlets.
cats are very strange, in a loving way ❤ also i cant wait for Sprocket to be updated. I got it after the geometrics update so i havent experienced the features that were temporarily removed after like more mantlet options :/
In line with the effort to combining the panzer III and IV chassis, i see this as a effort to do the same with the panzer IV and V chassis. Def cuz of the weight and the hybrid hull design.
If i remember it correctly, Panther II turret was called "shcmalturm" which is exactly what it sounds like - small turret. That is - it was more cramped inside than the early panther turret, in war thunder you can compare Panther A and Pather F to have a look. So long 88 just wouldn't fit in either one, it was an experiment on a blueprint and it didn't work oit
As a german i approve your attempt in making a German Tank :D But yeah your Tankmaking is getting better. I would say this one is more the size of a Panzer IV. The Panther was a very large and tall Tank.
Lynx? Does already exist :) Reconnaissance tank 2 "Luchs" (= Lynx). Awesome vehicle. 8x8, can drive in both directions with the same speed, has all-wheel steering and driver instruments on both ends. Has propellers on its back to allow swimming. Wheels are bulletproof. Incredibly silent (you won't hear its 10 cylinder engine a few meters away). The turning radius was incredibly small with just around 12m (which some cars cannot even achieve). On maneuvers, there were even security guidelines that soldiers must only sleep in specific positions to avoid being wounded or killed being driven over due to this tank being almost completely silent. Can reach up to 90 km/h on street and has a 20mm autocannon. It is lightly armored but withstands small arms fire including AP rounds. It had all the fancy tech you can imagine back in the days it was invented (IR, radar, encrypted communication, etc.). Sadly, it was decommissioned in 2009. The "Fennek" came after. Back in WWII, the Panzerkampfwagen II Ausf. L (Sd. Kfz. 123) also shared its name.
Cone of Arc did a good video on the Panther 2, it was basically an attempt to up-armour parts of the hull, specifically the sides of the hull, as Soviet 14.5mm AT rifles could penetrate it there, but they found that the add-on "Schurzen" armor plates that you see on later-war German tanks also worked and could be used on any tank design, including Panzer 4s, so they cancelled the Panther 2 project and just used the add-on plates. Only other things they were trying to do was upgrade the engine slightly and fix reliability issues, which they went on to do for later Panther models anyway. War Thunder's Panther 2 had the improved hull armor the real one did, but a turret that was never going to be put on Panther 2 (the incomplete Panther F's "Schmalturm" turret). The real Panther 2, if it was put into production, would have looked identical to Panther Gs, just with thicker side armor and a slightly better engine/transmission (that still wouldn't have been 100% reliable).
i remember reading the story of the panther 2, a lot of people think that the germans really had a plan for an improved version of the panther but thats very far from reality. The two tanks that got named panther 2 were captured by the americans in a factory, if im not mistaken it was from schmalturn but i may be wrong and those two tanks had some changes on them, the company behind the factory was trying to see what improvements they could make to the tank to be implemented like covering the tracks and a diferent gun or turret, the americans saw it as a different tank and tagged it as panther 2 but it was just the usual modifications companies at that time did to tanks to get the attention of the army like porsche with his weird projects. There is a chance those two models were in fact a plan for a panther 2 project but there is no evidence of that besides of the american army calling them that name. People kept calling them like that since then for some reason and world of tanks made the myth more popular Edit: its not schmalturm, i dont know why i have that name in my head.
Panther II was a prototype. And that's it. Very much the same tank, but with thicker armor and with some new feature from the tiger. Never produced, but the drawings was used for the E-50 project
Panther II was only a modification to the hull with increased front and side armor. The Schmalturm was developed for the normal Panther, and was built after the Panther II program had been cancelled. A Schmalturm concept which could fit the 8.8cm was drawn up, but would've been extremely impractical as two-piece ammo would be required to load the gun in such a cramped space. Another Schmalturm concept was instead for the Panther's extant 7.5cm L/70 and would've been a decent upgrade to the tank as it included a rangefinder. A further proposal was to mount the same 7.5cm Schmalturm on the Panzer IV chassis, this version would've had thinner armor. Warthunder's Panther II and Tiger II 105 were both likely based on spurious 'historical' documentation used to justify their designs in WoT. Thus when the ahistorical nature of those designs was fully understood they were removed from the WT tech tree. The King Tiger with a 105 concept was a real proposal, however the 105mm proposed could not fit within the turret and would've had even larger ammo than the 8.8cm L/71 which was already hard to load within the KT turret. The 8.8cm Schmalturm Panther proposal was also real but was likewise no more than a pipedream due to space constraints.
One thing that bothers me about this game is that the corners are so sharp you can cut yourself with them. And also those angled sections of sloped armour at the front really don't make the tank better. They reduce the amount of space inside the tank and prevent effective angling.
Lol love the videos man, keep making them. The turret u kept calling the panther 2 turret is actually the schmalturm (or something like that I don't remember rn). It was intended for the panther f insted of the panther 2. That misconception is because of warthunders fake panther 2 (thanks great snail again)
The last design for the Panther 2's turret, the "Schmale Blenden", wasn't all that different tbh. It had a square gun mantlet, and no rangefinder, but otherwise the dimensions were much the same as the production Schmalturm. Weirdly, the early Schmalturm design that followed the Panther 2's cancellation added an oddly sloped roof, which was again ditched for the production model. World of Tanks ironically enough chose to have its Panther 2's default turret be the oddly sloped one. So no one gets it right.
This could be a cross between the experimental panzer 4 with panther turret (which obviously failed due to being heavy) and the normal panther and a little bit of french inspiration.
Has vibes of the Hungarian Tas Major with the hull shape and general premise. Just would never have used a Panther F turret and would have had a 90mm gun.
I feel like I'm looking at a more mobile version of Elefant (or Elephant maybe?) tank I think the part "not quite right" thing, I believe the top front of Panther's turret has a slight angle

I’m going to go do the research myself, but are there forged tanks? My knowledge of metal making comes from cars, and forged pistons are the strongest, but I’ve only heard you talk about cast and welded turrets. UPDATE: The only information I found was from Quora, and I don’t trust anything I see on that website, so if someone knows the reasons, please share them.
15:11 Lol why do you say that like it's not a given? You miss the fact that there is no gameplay anymore? Truly shocking :^) I have no interest in playing again until I can, you know, actually do something with the things I build haha
historian here for clarification: the panther ii concept DID exist, and one hull was built! but had essentially absolutely NOTHING in common with the gaijan panther ii. its really more of an "upgrade" for the purpose of production. it had some common parts with the tiger ii, and a bit thicker armour, but thats essentially it. its currently displayed with a spare panther ausf. g turret, in the end it wouldve very likely still used a 75mm gun and a G style turret, not the F style like in war thunder. as for your design, angled cheakplates are actually a design dead end, the extra armour they provide is undercut by the fact you just genuinely have even less space. its more for light vehicles with little to no armour than it is for a medium tank. its also harder for production, youd really just want one big flat heavy plate in front. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Panther_II_tank

I have a weird opinion on the sideskirts dented thingies, I feel like they would look better if the edges were lifted? Like of there was a little lip?
my panther 3/2 take is to make like a round front for the hull like a e100 but in a crazy angle but allows the fit of a biger turret ring

the panther 2 had a 75 and in real combat you do not angle
Hey, what’s your favorite plane and tank ever?
Ok medium tank it is .but it looks like a panther and a pz kpfw iv lol
Does anyone know what the cuts in the back are for in the panzer 4 hull?
dumb answer ab panther II, hull was made, turret (as presented in wt) is completely made up
Westland Wendover tho
make edelweiss tank, trust me is hard
Hetris.
Truly shocking :^)
I have no interest in playing again until I can, you know, actually do something with the things I build haha
Tamnke
Voinechese :3
Less angles panther f
Angling isnt really something you would do irl just makes very little sense in a tank also the us 76m1 is actually 75mm
Every tank beyond ww2: 🗿
Day 1 of asking PatchBits to do the VK 90.01 (P) German Superheavy Tank
Not putting a cat picture on the screen is a crime against all of us
historian here for clarification:
the panther ii concept DID exist, and one hull was built! but had essentially absolutely NOTHING in common with the gaijan panther ii. its really more of an "upgrade" for the purpose of production. it had some common parts with the tiger ii, and a bit thicker armour, but thats essentially it. its currently displayed with a spare panther ausf. g turret, in the end it wouldve very likely still used a 75mm gun and a G style turret, not the F style like in war thunder.
as for your design, angled cheakplates are actually a design dead end, the extra armour they provide is undercut by the fact you just genuinely have even less space. its more for light vehicles with little to no armour than it is for a medium tank. its also harder for production, youd really just want one big flat heavy plate in front.
