I am an American but because this was my brothers favorite band, I heard so much of their music as a child. My brother died in 86, so that just cemented this band being special to my family. It’s always weird to me that in all my days of going to 80s club nights that they just don’t play them very much. I found a Spandau Ballet Calendar in a closet when I went home for the holidays 🥰
Reminds me of my School days.....always used to sing the chorus. I didn't know the rest of the words. Lol This was a fabulous collaboration. Both great bands in their own right!
I got to see them with my sister when they reunited about 5 years ago. They sounded great and looked great. It’s a damn shame they couldn’t get along and broke up yet again.

Spandau Ballet’s early years are a hit and miss with me. Really weird. The lead singer had this moaning drawl vocal style until the third album, True, when he used his baritone to its full potential.

This song is funky and soulful with some Afro-Cuban. His vocals are kind of Bowiesque.
