Every time we see skull t-shirt man he has a new instrument and he swaps between them seamlessly. Meanwhile I can barely swap between a fork and a spoon without causing a scene at the table.

you still can. Trust me on this. Grab an instrument and spend all your time on it. In a year you'll sound good enough to amuse yourself, in 5 you'll wonder how you ever didn't know, and in 10 you'll be bored and adding solos or whatever to other things while collaborating with people you idolized.
So many years later and yet, this song never fails to give me goosebumps and make me emotional. Thank you , Bear, for sharing your amazing talents with us all

Bear, I doubt you'll ever see this, but jesus christ are you one of the best composers of our age. I just cannot get over the way you fuse so many genres and instruments together into pieces that sound so obvious in retrospect, but no one else seems to be doing. This piece just solidifies for me how great your music is and it makes me want to watch anything you compose for.
Every time I hear this song; I'm transported to a hill in Ireland. I have never been there, but I know it is real and it exists. Overlooking a town, along the western coast. This hill has a gnarled old tree, that twists towards the edge of the hill. The town is a small sea side town, resting in a valley along the edge of the sea. It's hidden, nestled in wedged between the hills and the coast. The houses of the town are painted white, such a white that almost causes the houses to glow in the sunlight. The roofs are all variations of greens and reds. Every time this song takes me there. To a home I've only known in my heart

I'm irish, I speak gaelic, and I think the singer doesn't know what he's singing. He can't even say "go deo" correctly! (it's easy, just gotta hear somebody saying "Eire go deo")
Anyway, i sung that song at my gdad's funerals (with translations for english speakers cause not everybody understands irish in my family, or barely).
Nobody knew it was from BSG, and I was like "best song for the best series for the best man i've ever met". I wish someone would do the same for me at my funerals, like playing the Colonial Anthem, or sing Wander My Friends, or just have a beer on my grave saying even dead i'm still alive.
Anyway, great work dude, i bought your album and it's so great !
I performed this at a little céilí in Irish class in the States. This was my introduction to Gaeilge as a teenager and it's the reason I later learned. I'm sorry for your loss and may your grandad's memory be a blessing!

WOW! What i would have given to be sat there listening to this spectacular piece in person. Amongst the sea of rubbish we are forced to swim in, there is still good music to be found out there.
Now, I want to go back and binge-watch this series. And, listen again to the magic of Bear's music which is as much the story as the story itself.

Binge watch this show almost every winter. Prior to BSG, I was the typical Trekie. Wish the last season could have been stretched out just a little more, but all the loose ends came together well.
Who is the guy who plays multiple instruments? Tin whistle, bag pipes, etc. ??? Anyhow, an exceptional talent!!
I remember watching the Caprica pilot ages ago, seeing Joseph pull out the lighter, and knowing with absolute certainty what was about to play next :)

The only thing more dramatic than a soprano is 1st violin. lol.
But they're probably just hot/catching glare in the stage lights sometimes.
There were two nights they did the show and the performance video is mixing them together for the best angles.

Ok it's awesome but the great begins when in 3:50 video director doesn't know whats is playing, and camera is hunting here and there until you finish in the 3:55 with the score all full of silence... I'm not a friend of the flute player, but I'm sorry for him.
