Nice rig! What length kicker are you running, the Long shaft (20''er) or the XL 25"? Need to get one for my 1875 Pro V, and think the 20" is the way to go, but getting recommendations for both lengths from dealers and online. I haven't found where Mercury shows how they measure the shaft length. Thought it was to the cavitation plate, but can't find confirmation, or consistency when measuring other outboards. Really enjoy your content and appreciate you sharing your techniques. I fish her a fair amount east of you...she's a big pond! Thanks!

Love the new Lund and those Lakers were gorgeous! Wish I had a Great Lake in my backyard. I live in CO and it's not uncommon to hook into a 40-50 pounder at Blue Mesa and Granby reservoirs. My PB was at Flaming Gorge, UT, caught a 22 pounder. Tight lines!

Can you catch king salmon on Minnesota Lake Superior side??
You can yes - however to say you are going out to target "king salmon" would not be realistic.
So how does the new boat compare to the old boat.
Shes nice!! Catches a lot of fish we will give her that! Really liking it thus far.
My buddy has the same boat but with a 300 on the back. It is a great trolling boat. My boat has 2x the freeboard but when it gets windy I have to put the bags out to keep from getting pushed.

in all honesty were not too sure. havent bought them in a few years. Most are either too big or too small that you see in stores. Gotta find that happy medium.

I go up there every year I no u said apostle islands but where are some good spots other than the south channel and flats ? Are u by outer island ?
Outer island gets too much pressure, we tend to stay away if we can. But yes, we are out amongst the islands. Lots of good water out there. The apostles is a playground for Lake Trout it seems. Fish are usually in about every spot you try.
Probably felt 5# heavier having your rod hand on the reel and not on the fore grip. Physics homie.
Please keep making vids forever! What about the fall salmon run on the north shore? I’m in SB without a boat. Waiting for the kings to run upstream. Catching pinks and some coaster brookies lately but when will the chinook run in the Baptist the beaver or the split rock rivers?
Would it be possible to make a video about casting from shore for lakers? Or salmon? Floating a worm even maybe? Or is this channel just about fishing from a boat or the ice?
